- "A highly engineered piece of fabric, some impossibly skinny lines, a harness big enough to hold some emergency gear, food and water, a radio, gps, vario, a sleeping bag and a mountain range in California that stretches over 800 kilometers. And a few knuckleheads who think it's possible."
A team of paragliders sets out to break the distance record for vol bivouac flying in North America across the Sierra Mountains in California. A stunning visual journey that highlights the beauty and risks of self supported flight.

Gavin, done and spoken as usual. Blue skies

"A lot of people call us crazy, maybe we are. We are also afraid, afraid from the life on the ground, afraid of routine, afraid from the crap and distraction our mind holds dear when we are not in the air. People need to meditate for years to become present. All we need to do is launch" - Gavin McClurg.
Woah soo true - u are giving me goosebumps! :)

Great job on the video Gavin.
+paraglidingnut26 Thanks!
Just got goosebumps :)...!
I so want to vol biv the Sierra’s, I really want to cross the Sierra’s from Owens Valley to lemon cove or somewhere around visalia, porterville, anywhere on west side. But I’ve just got my P2 only two mountain flights so far, so I got lots of flying and learning to do before attempting something like that.
very nice video :)
What happened to the other 5 pilots.are we to assume only 1 was injured and is he OK.
+JAMES EDWARD TAYLOR yes, one was injured quite badly the first day. We started with 6, ended with 3. The injured pilot had to leave, then one of the pilots got pretty scared, and one at the end had to return to work as it took 18 days to complete.
