here’s some activities that make sense to do at the park: -read a book -have a barbecue -cycling/jogging/etc -birthday parties -gatherings -bring young family members so they can play
Play Pokémon Go. No seriously parks are perfect for that game. A lot of PokeStops and I usually end up encountering a lot of Pokemon. Some times ones I didn’t think I’d see like a Magmar. I bought a portable charger partly due to that.
Garnt is obviously depressed...needs light theme on phone, bread tastes all the same, world doesn't need parks..we're waiting for next thing that's a red flag! Stop it get help! 😂
As someone who lived in Yokohama, I must say there are really unreal beautiful parks. "Shiki no Mori park" is probably my most favorite park ever. It almost feels like an isekai world. Also, Tokyo has some really nice parks outside the centre centre. Most famously the "Showa memorial park". Not necessarily a park, but the river side of the Tamagawa river and the Todoroki Ravel are also insane places. They feel so slice of life anime.
Right now the predominant colour outside is grey. It really makes you appreciate parks when the weather is nice. Especially when there's a river or beach
The worst parks are the empty ones that are just flat and feel like its a prison. The best ones are those who have variety in terrain and trees, small ponds, lakes around it, with several playgrounds.
i was like “wow i lowkey relate to garnt thats weird” and then i realized we both have ADHD. personally, i feel like this a lot because i need to have things to do all the time or else i cant focus, and can’t make my brain stay on one thing because there’s Too Much there. and i’ve also always thought that parks are very artificial ways to Experience Nature.
Tokyo used to have a lot of greenery back in the day when the buildings were mostly wooden... until, well, "least said, soonest mended" (I guess?). After Operation Meetinghouse, I think I'd want something a bit more napalm proof too...
I've always had a dog. So that obligation to walk or run them to keep em healthy get's me out the door for a walk. And parks become a god send cause it's something pleasant and interesting to walk around (& occasionally explore). When you do it daily it kinda of becomes a meditational ritual; and it can be really interesting to observe how things change through the seasons. My favorite parks are all basically miny nature reserves.
I do mostly get where Garnt's coming from. I love a good walk outside but I don't need to go to a park to get that relaxing feeling. Bonus points if it's a park I need to pay to get in. If I'm throwing down money, you have to have something.
Playgrounds help with socialising children. A chance to play with other kids and learn to negotiate and compromise with others. The play equipment is usually more extravagant than you could fit in your back garden. Our local park has outdoor gym equipment for adults to use.
My city in New Zealand has a small forest running through it. The city was once ringed, between a belt of green wood, and the sea. Now the city surrounds the forest. Having plenty of green space has been shown to relieve feelings of stress and depression. We need it as human beings.
Btw Oslo and Vienna have the highest green Places to city ratio. Vienna is 50% green place which is not that surprising, they have a fucking green island in the middle of the city. Also Oslo the city has just so much forrest around it. That a bit of a cheat i think bc in the city itself there is not that much greenery. But around it its packed
The biggest benefit to a park is that for some people...is that it's a hell of a commute to get out to nature and sometimes, you just want to get out to some green that's only minutes away just to breathe for a bit.
Garnt's take may be shit but it resonates so hard in my bones. I'd go outside and 10 minutes later go, "WTF am I even doing?" For the sake of giving an alternative, I'd rather go to a museum tbh
@Fork God's Descendant eh, not necessarily. If you've been sitting in a chair all day without really moving (particularly if the chair isn't very comfortable), then the act of walking alone can just feel really nice. Although yeah, on the whole it's about clearing the mind.
I feel like especially as a student or someone who works from home a lot, you really do need to go out because that’s basic human needs and when you constantly ignore your needs as a person your mental health will start to decline.
I don't get paying to get into parks... its hard enough to find something to do in a park as it is if I had to pay I would never go to one... If I'm paying I shouldn't be required to bring the entertainment as well...
I really like goin to parks, especially cause I live in a bigger city. Sometimes you just need that peaceful greenery. Also going for walks in the summer with friends is peak
Depends on the park really, but if it's well maintained and not too strict on the rules, you can basically do anything from picnicking to literally doing nothing and just sitting down and relax. Park is different from Amusement Park, Garnt 🤣 you make your own fun.
I get them on the whole not walking for walking. I enjoy being outside (grew up in the countryside) but any time when I haven't got a dog in my life if I try to walk just to be outside I get stressed out/feeling guilty as I'm just wasting time that I could be using to work and make more money and get angry with myself for being lazy with this time and I turn back early and do wore work. Partly why I like podcasts as I can listen to them while working so don't need to stress about wasting time. But whenever I have a dog in my life I can be out for 5hr+ (normally 2hr in the morning 3hr in the evening each day unless if we do a hike in the mountains) and not stress as its justifiable as its good for the dog.
I agree with Garth here, I need a reason to just walk arohnd otherwise there is no fucking point to it. I notices this with my family where they go to malls and other places just to go there with no goal at all, I can't do that.
I think I understand what garnt meant, he doesn't like the concept of park or he doesn't connect with it, and I think he rather go to an actual place of nature like forest when needed a breath of fresh air
Am I the only one who agrees with garnt here.... Like parks are such a boring place there are so much better places to take a walk at. It's so booooooring
Garnt woke up today, and said f*ck parks.
Garnt seems like he’s going to become one of those stereotypical cranky old people who yell at kids to stay off his damn lawn
become? he already is
I can't believe he was actual monk. How can of all people Garnt have been monk one time in his life. LOL
But what do you even do on a lawn?
What do you go to the lawn for?
Quite the opposite, he's asking why are they having fun on grass?
Garnt living the first world problem of "can't enjoy nature unless it's a fancy trip outside of the city"
You have no idea how mundane nature can be when it's only on one place and artificial, there is no sense of adventure or anything new to it at all.
Garnt is literally the type of person who doesn't know how to entertain himself and constantly needs something or someone else to do it for him
more like his adhd, he needs to have something to do else he can't just go somewhere and do nothing like a park
I do not even need to watch that episode to confirm that. :D
He just like me fr
@@cuni8634 You also have ADHD?
It's like he has no imagination. It's spooky, almost.
This feels like a talking point that was randomly drawn out of a hat by one of them. "Let's see... Okay, looks like we gotta talk about parks!"
It does, they seem to not have that energy they do when they talk about food, entertainment, etc..
here’s some activities that make sense to do at the park:
-read a book
-have a barbecue
-cycling/jogging/etc
-birthday parties

Basketball if there are basketball courts.
Sounds like Garnt needs a dopamine detox.
That’s a sad concept
He literally has ADHD?
You can still have ADHD and enjoy being outside in a park. You think pre digital adhd kids didn't like to touch grass?
@@safra no clearly adhd people have never been outside for more than 10 minutes
@@ineedanewname4844 Sad that it's necessary maybe, but it can be very healthy and rewarding in practice.

He prefers the later seasons of Game of Thrones. Definitely a sign there's something wrong
@@Ash_Wen-li that is absolutely worst take ever ...he needs to go outside more and maybe to meditate on his latest takes 🤔
@@Ash_Wen-li he's gotta be trolling. There's no way he's genuinely serious about that.

I think Garnt is a grandpa stuck in a 30 year old body
I think even old people like parks...Garnt is just on autopilot doing mindless chores ..like a character from assasins creed.
Grandpas love nature lol
@@seasyrenn Old people especially like parks. Get some walking in, talk to friends etc.
I just think he just doesn't like being leisurely.
@@seasyrenn so he’s an NPC? 😂😂😂
I’m a little surprised to hear this considering that garnt was a monk and literally talked abt doing meditative walk exercises
Well there was a reason he was only a monk for like a month.
TL;DR Garnt likes nature and parks but hates the smaller ones that have nothing to offer other than being there.
When Garnt sits in the back seat for long car rides he's like a kid that needs a tablet to be entertained.
meanwhile im chill with just some music playing, vaping thc,and staring out the window while thinking, and im basically the same age as garnt.

Kamishakuuji park please……that’s a place I called home….. boat rowing there is also fun on the summer
I generally don't like going to parks by myself. BUT! If I'm with a friend, then I'm happy to tag along to chat and catch up with each other.
Me too, I rarely go to parks but if it's with a few close friends or family, then good 😊😊
I remember during COVID like DESPERATELY going to the park just to touch grass and breathe outside air.
Same. This park by my house connected to a 3 mile trail, and I would walk it every day while listening to Jpop or Kpop! Good times.
I’ve actually never been to like an “official park.”😂 But that’s because I got 50 acres of woods around my house so I don’t need to go to a park.

(not saying everyone’s adhd experience is like this, just that i wonder if that’s how garnt feels)
Adhd isn't real
That concept of green being good for you is called biophilia, and it's a pretty cool thing to study
Tokyo used to have a lot of greenery back in the day when the buildings were mostly wooden... until, well, "least said, soonest mended" (I guess?). After Operation Meetinghouse, I think I'd want something a bit more napalm proof too...

It’s not “trash taste” that does not get parks it’s just Garnt!🤣
Someone should make a compilation of Garnts shit takes of the year
I'm with Connor about the walking. I just walk

Garnt must have been one of those kids in recess that just sat there on the swing set not knowing what to do.
Garnts takes just get shitter each episode😂
I only go to parks when it is quicker to get to the place I'm going to than going over ways.

I thought Garnt was supposed to be a monk before? :v
Garnt is soo far from a "Shinto" mind hehe
i genuinely don't like parks or nature, being surrounded by concrete is my favorite thing
My favorite park in Tokyo is the park in the ravine underneath the Golf-bashi bridge.
It's just so calming compared to the rest of the city.
It depends how you look at it, i think. More you treat it as a quest/goal then it'll feel empty
