There are adjustments that set hard stops at 90 and 45 degrees. There's an allen bolt that you loosen to the left of the wheel (the 45 stop is to the right). Behind that bolt, inside the saw is a special plastic nut thingy that rotates, which changes the distance slightly and sets the stop. I adjusted mine so that a firm turn on the wheel as I lock it down hits 90 or 45 accurately.
Thank You for mentioning this issue with the tilt on Metabo's table saw. I came here to UA-cam looking for any videos that might show how to adjust it's trunnion stops if there was any before complaining about this issue. I found written vendor reviews from people complaining about not even reaching the 90 degree mark. So, consider yourself lucky that your 90 degree stop overshoots and doesn't bind short of 90 like others have been experiencing. One guy was in touch with Metabo's Product support and they told him that this issue is within the scope of their acceptability for this saw that was meant to be a job site saw.
I got this saw 90% off because it was a floor model and my wife works the contractors side. And I am a contractor! It worked out perfect haha. I love the thing. There is stuff you haven't realized about it yet but you might make a new video after.
Thanks for the review. Great job on the pros n cons. I just bought it online for $299. Had my eye on a yellow one but at 1/2 the price I have to try it.
@@tbuc2920 actually there is especially when a lot of the things he was saying, were all adjustable. So maybe reading the manual would have solved most of his issues. Then this video wouldn't exist.
I have had the same saw for about 2 years some ups and downs, my biggest down is that you can not make a cut at 1 inch with the blade guard on, when you mentioned the blade tilt, I use my magnetic digital angel guide to help, I don’t like that you can’t use a thin rip guide due to the miter slots being far away from the blade so I’m gonna try to sell and just bite the bullet and get a saw stop either CTS or job site table saw
This saw is 99% the exact same as the Dewalt ! Its an awesome saw and 2 to 3 hundred cheaper then the Dewalt. I have both and they both FOR ME perform flawlessly. Stay safe and go home with 10 fingers !!
I don't assume this is a Professional portable table saw. Any portable will have issues because the manufacturer is trying to be light weight for portability. Every portable table needs to be calibrated, frequently. A Professional cabinet table saw doesn't move. Is very heavy. Has heavy duty parts and components, is sometimes 3 phase in electric motor and so on. . . But I do appreciate the information about the shortcomings of this portable table saw. It will help in my decision making process. So far, the most of the reviews say the Metabo is pretty good.
@@mackmittenz01 same but I think they are buying the saw alone and not including the stand. Ridged and other do the same, can get the saw alone or get the wheel stand and are normally a couple hundred more.
Thanks for putting this up. Not sure if you got it on sale but I was eyeing this one due to a Lowe’s deal for $325. How are you settling into it now that you’ve had it about a week? Does the fence stack locked in pretty well? Was it difficult to fine tune the fence trueness?
the fence is really good as far as adjusting it as it is a rack and pinion system similar to the Dewalt. The only issue I have on the fence is that it slightly leans forward by a fraction of an inch so I have to adjust for that if using a shorter piece vs a taller piece of wood.
There are slots for the miter accessory under the table behind the cord.

Maybe you should read the manual before you plug the saw in .

Seems like you are nitpicking very minor things. I'd say 2 out of 10 might be valid points, to give it an honest review
There is no such thing as nitpicking when it comes to expensive tools that carpenters and woodworkers use Loren.

Any better after a few months of getting used to it? What model Metabo?
It's on the back. Right under the table
