@@HoldenNY22 Michael is a character in the Good Place. Spoiler He's a demon in the afterlife who designs neighbourhoods for the deceased who come to "heaven", but at the end of the show he becomes a human. Michael's actor plays the character of this new show too.
Fun fact: The premise of this is loosely based on a true story. There was a documentary made about it: The Mole Agent (2020) - "A private investigator in Chile hires someone to work as a mole at a retirement home where a client of his suspects the caretakers of elder abuse".
@@SacredDaturaa its a fun movie anyway, the main character is charismatic (and a truly old man) so its fun to see him behave like a secret agent, in reality there is no abuse in the retirement home, the biggest problem was how lonely they felt each day
The original is brilliant: it’s funny, touching & beautifully done (not as broad as this one seems). If you haven’t seen Mole Agent, be sure to see it if you can.
Came looking for this. The original documentary, "The Mole Agent" is based on the true story of Don Sergio, who posed as a spy in a retirement home suspected of elder abuse. The documentary is very wholesome, since there was no abuse at all, even though people were a bit crazy, which makes it hilarious at times, and very dramatic in some others.
A Michael Schur comedy starring Ted Danson? YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU! I'm just going to assume that this is a Good Place sequel where this is the life Michael lived after the series finale.
@@elver2218Can you imagine they make it a twist and it is actually a continuation of the story and he gets called back to the bad place or something?!!!

Just finished watching through the whole thing in one sitting. Schur is just so damn good at mixing comedy with emotions. I really hope we get to see a second season of this, because I absolutely fell in love with it.
This is series is wholesome, heartwarming, witty and funny. It depicts aging and people of all walks of life with dignity, respect and head on honesty. Highly recommended.
I don't think there's a showrunner out there that I would trust more on name alone. This trailer could've been "Michael Schur new series Nov 21" and I would've been in.
Well, my mom and I are in. Ted Danson was hilarious in The Good Place. She got all excited to see Sally Struthers, too. We both love mysteries and comedies. And the comparison to high school if you get into a nice community is apt. My grandmother was in assisted living in the '90s, and despite having missed out on high school she had that vibe of being one of the popular girls who sat at the big tables with her friends and talked to every one, and just enjoyed having fun with the other people at the community.
A lot of his acting is in body language. He's very graceful, moves like a dancer. He did little softshoe steps during spare moments in the 1981 film, "Body Heat." 43 years later - he still moves the same.
it's based on the story narrated in the 2020 documentary "the mole agent", wich deals with the same topics (exept there isn't a stolent necklace, but the suspicion that there's elderly abuse going on). It's really good
This series serves as a poignant reminder for us young people of the journey that lies ahead if we are fortunate enough to embrace our golden years. It gently urges us to cherish every moment with our families, to nurture those bonds that truly matter. And perhaps most beautifully, it reminds us that no matter our age, our hearts remain open to the joy of forming new friendships and creating meaningful connections.
I loved this series so much! I binged it in one night; and two nights later, I watched the whole again!! Ted Danson is the most appealing older man I’ve ever seen! And I could relate to everything. I saw members of my family in “old folks homes”years ago, and as a 69 yo woman, I see it coming down the pike!! I sure wish the people there are that fun and interesting!

This looks good! I didn't realize this was based off of The Mole Agent, at first I thought Hollywood was just copying the concept. Also I'll add that The Mole Agent wasn't a straight documentary but included a script and filming of specific scenes, but without putting words in actors mouths (I think) and rather allowing things to unfold. This is characteristic of director Maite Alberdi's style, mixing documentary and fiction to create a narrative, as can be seen in el Salvavidas/The Lifeguard, among others.
