Thanks guys, SCANDAL is my favourite band ever. They debuted in 2006 when they were in highschool. The name SCANDAL is actually taken from the sign in an adult shop in the same floor with the studio which they used to use to practice before the debut. They had no idea what's to be the name of their band before they debuted, so they chose the biggest sign they could see.
SCANDAL is pretty amazing. They're super versatile and have been an inspiration to many new japanese female bands. There are so many amazing songs from them to check... "Fuzzy", "Freedom Fighters", "Scandal Baby", "Space Ranger", "Harukaze", "Koe", "Heaven na Kibun", etc.
They surprised the heck out of me for sure. I was expecting it to be good but that was wow! Dope man, thanks for the suggestions. Honestly can't wait to hear them. 🤘
YOOOOOOOOOOOO! You guys finally did SCANDAL! They are like the OG female JROCK band. These ladies are fantastic. They were formed in 2006 when they were in highschool. To answer your question, they ALL sing. They are all really good singers. They were my first introduction to JROCK a few years back. Damn covid! I had tickets to see them at house of blues in Anaheim CA back in September but it was delayed. I should hopefully see them next November! Yall should check out their songs "Awanaitsumorino, Genkidene" thats prob one of my favorites, "platform syndrome" is pretty dope too, Shunkan Sentimental is another classic. They got a lot of songs with a lot of different sounds seeing as how they have prob been the most successful all female JROCK band. I think their first US tour was in 2008 so they basically were able to go international in 2 years and have been touring internationally ever since. They are now just getting into their 30s, think the drummer Rina is 29, Bassist Tomomi and lead guitar Mami are 30, rythm guitar/lead vocals Haruna is 32.
Show-ya is the OG female JRock band. "Awanaitsumorino, Genkidene" is also my favorite although the stuff on the new album has been some of the best they've done in years.

They do have a wide variety of sounds so some stuff is good if I'm in the mood for it. Also agreed their new songs have been pretty badass. Looking forward to them coming back to CA next November... I have heard, not sure if its true or not so take this with a grain of salt, but I head that Akane credits Rina ( SCANDAL's drummer) with inspiring her to become a drummer.

don't expect a collaboration scandal-bish-band-maid. the three - haruna, akane and chitti - are just good friends. they have this yearly tradition to celebrate harunas birthday with a little coffee&cake. the instagram posts are simply a "happy birthday" message :) never heard of Rina Akane thing. It's Nao for Akane. Rina is also younger, so there's that...
Haruna Ono sings leads, Mami Sasazaki plays lead guitar and back up vocals, Tomomi Ogawa plays bass and back up vocals, Rina Suzuki plays back up vocals, she also plays piano.

SCANDAL are one of my favorite Japanese bands they've been together for 14 years and have done many anime opening and ending themes (Shoujo S from Bleach and Sunkan Sentimental from FMA Brotherhood are the first that come to mind for me) . They just recently started completely writing their own songs with Rina the drummer writing the Lyrics and Mami the guitarist handling all the other parts and they've been great. Their style has changed a bit they used to do a more 2 singer style with the Bassist Tomomi also singing with her super high pitched voice and the songs were a bit more poppy. Fun Fact: Rina credits Nao from MTH as one of her inspirations to become a drummer. Happy you guys liked it thanks again!
Another top class Japanese band. There's a fair bit of musical variation on their current album, but they mostly sit at the pop/rock crossover. It'll be interesting to see what you make of their earlier stuff. My favourite album of theirs is probably Yellow, while テイクミーアウト (Take Me Out) would be my favourite track. Given the amount of new music you have been introduced to this year, I hope you're planning some kind of review late in December.
A lot of good stuff on "Yellow." "Take me out" is great - very jazzy - I love Mami's solo on that - and she does it at least as well live as on the studio recording. Not super technical by any means, but it sounds great.

SCANDAL are primarily a Pop-Rock/Pop-Punk band but they are not afraid to experiment with genre and certainly put the ROCK in Pop-Rock. A ink to a song from their first Album performed live at their Major Debut Concert will be in a follow up comment in the event of getting caught in a spam filter .. the Song is called Anata ga Mawaru

expect nothing less from an all girl band that is 15 years in the industry and holds the world record for a longest running all female band with the original members and this song I think was written by the lead guitarist mami sasaki and bassist tomomi ogawa
I love Scandal. Their style is all over the place on different songs. Off the top of my head I can think of one song that has a Weezer vibe while another one somehow reminds me of Green Day. Also, every member has at least a couple of songs that they sing lead on, but the singer on this one and their bass player do the most lead vocals.

They are more of a pop rock, pop punk band, but they are the hugest female band in Japan BY FAAAAAAAAAAAR. They perform at stadiums and sell all tickets.
You guys should check out Girlfriend, aka baby Scandal. The members of Girlfriend are from Osaka like Scandal and attended the same school that the Scandal members did. Their career path has been very similar to that of Scandal.
@@billcunningham9256 Yeah. It was very sad to see them break up. Mirei and Saikika are doing a project together called Coco. Mina has become a social media giant. I think she still works for the label. I have seen Nagisa in the studio but not really sure what she's doing.
SCANDAL have been producing great music since 2008, you should listen to more. Songs Like "Pride" "Shunken Sentimental" "Tokyo Skyscraper" just for starters.

This is an underrated band, they bring a nice mix of different rock genres together and defiantly have their own sound. I can almost hear a bit of Spread Beaver influence.

So they are much less likely to review SCANDAL and when they do, there are not as many views and comments. BAND-MAID will usually get five to ten times the views. For that matter i think even BAND-MAID is underrated-compared to BABY METAL which is more of an idol group since the singers don't play instruments
AMDKJ = amidakuji or “ghost leg” it’s a ladder lottery game that the ladies have used a bunch over the years for stuff like “which platform gets which pre-order bonuses” and when they lived together ages ago they used it to decide who gets which room 🤣

Fender Telecaster Thinline...Haruna Signature Model. Fender Squier Stratomaster...Mami Signature Model. It isn't that the guitars are big, it is that Haruna is 5' and Mami is 5'2-1/2". 🙂
They both have their own strengths. Instrument skill wise Bandmaid, songwriting/style wise Scandal... for me, also Haruna from Scandal has my favorite voice when she uses her lower register

I wish that were true. They've performed at arenas (Osaka-Jo, Budokan, Yokohama) but never at a stadium
