To all those saying that viscous mockery doesn’t work that way, let me counter with this: D&D is a Tabletop Role-Playing Game (TRPG), as such there are instances in which the games rules may be vetoed by the dm for the sake of a more interesting RP experience. I personally would absolutely let a spell entirely based on *mocking someone* hit regardless of the opponent’s saving throw if the player casting it came up with a brutal enough insult. Therefore: I see no issues here
Yep, if my Bard came to me with a brutal insult like this (and sang it, too), that is hitting for max damage automatically, won't even bother to do a saving throw lol 😅
The thing that gets me everytime is that vicious mockery isn't an active attack roll by the bard, but a saving throw of the oponent. But Bard Player dont care Nat 20 lets gooo

I think it being a saving throw makes much more sense. Everyone can hear the mockery, you're not 'aiming' your voice. It's more about whether or not the person on the receiving end shrugs it off.
