Great video! I wish I had seen this 2 months ago when i bought a crowd addon that does exactly this but not with alembics so it's worse haha, this is a game changer for me and other people with limited hardware!
Hi sir I want to thank you for all your videos. I learned all the advance things from you specially from the city scifi animation series. After learning from that series, I got understanding of camera movements. I confidently took freelance jobs and done many small projects of archviz Thankyou❤
Bravo! You can make a really good tutorial. I'd love to do get an awesome tutorial from you, for an animated crowd. I need to fill a stadium with fans cheering and clapping or just sitting there. Also they don't cheer or clap unless they all start as it would look ridiculous if they would all do 1 animation all the time.
looks so cool, I have a question if you convert the alembic into an fbx for using maybe in a game it still retains everything, I mean animation and texture?
Hello, i have been following your tutorial to animate a crowd and everything went well except for the animation part. When i try to make the crowd to have a collision with an object, the crowd goes trough it. I am really stuck on this one and i tried several things like putting a rigid body and collision physics on the character before exporting it as an alembic but nothing works. I hope this message finds you, thank you in advance

Very nice! How not to let some pass through the others?
That's a bit more complex and maybe a good subject for another tutorial
Excellent stuff, didn't know sbout the limbic option.
You said something about reducing the number of vertices but I didn't notice you doing it.

How can I bake the final whole crowd animation and take it out from Blender? ,for further using the crowd animation in Unreal.

I wonder would this kind of stuff work with animated animals that have fur/feather as cards
How to change the animation offset like in element 3d?

I switched to Houdini for that part.. the crowd system there is so advanced and yet easy to use
Thanks for this one 😊 How do you avoid sliding when you slow down the movement of the characters?
Thanks a lot boyy
cool thanks man
So alembic files animate models in same way it was done in quake 1 :D
yes but they all are skating, or waking on ice??
Interesting!
It's a long process, bro. Is there any direct method?
Did we watch the same video!? Lol this was beautifully explained for noobs and still nicely condensed.
