  • "The Low Quartet" by Michael Gordon, arranged by Sergeant First Class Brian Sacawa. This piece is an excerpt from "The Saxophone Standard."
    The United States Army Field Band is the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army. Its four main components, the Concert Band, Soldiers' Chorus, Jazz Ambassadors, and The Volunteers, travel thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to audiences throughout the nation and around the world. Public concerts, school assemblies, clinics, festivals, and radio and television appearances are all part of the Army Field Band's schedule.
    The Instructional Video Series is designed to share knowledge with America's young musicians and to aid teachers by focusing on specific musical areas. New educational materials are added to our collection each year.

    You guys are simply awesome. That's a piece of music for those deep horns and your playing is totally outstanding. Even though tenor is my axe I still love the tone, range and power of these big horns and you guys really make them sound their best.

    I absolutely cannot waitttttt for "Allegro Con Brio" teased at the end. There is so few pieces in the saxophone repertoire that has that written style of music, yet I feel it sounds soooo nice with a sax quartet doing it! I can't wait to hear the whole thing!!

      Yella G they mean low as in they are able to play low

      They are lower instruments as in they play all the bass lines but they can also play high

    Pure talent nailing those perfect altissimo notes and with dynamic contrast. I've played some tough songs with my group, but this song sounds really challenging to play right. Very nicely done, I wish I had half the talent y'all have.

    Does this go into altissimo range for the Bari at all??? It seems high but is it just normal range

      Preston Estep use a lowe reed than you're used to and you'll need less air

    One person has their ligature upside down even though it looks like 3 of them do. 2 of them have optimums which have screws on top and 2 have standard ligatures where you are supposed to put the screws on the bottom but one dude has theirs upside down!!! This is bari awesome though

    on two of the Bari's the two ends to be specific I would like to know what kind of ligature that is. I have just recently gone from trumpet to Bari sax so I don't know to much about the different mouthpieces and ligature. I use a Yamaha 5c mouth piece and rovner mark III ligature

      They are using Brancher metal wire ligatures with Selmer s90 190 mouthpieces.
