Great video, thank you. I just bought an EUC and will be starting the learning process as soon as my helmet arrives in a few days. I aspire to your impressive skill level!
Great. I was doing the same for the first 10 days. Watching you remind me how I was before. Fight on. You will get it. Once you get it it’s the most rewarding thing you will ever experience.
it is the best video I have ever seen on the first steps of the monowheel, I have watched it more than once and it gives me a lot of joy, especially because I did the same thing as you, you have all my respect
I just got my KingSong 16X yesterday. I’ve been practicing all day today and some yesterday but I realized the WHOLE TIME, I was in expert mode. I made a little progress. I was able to ride it a few times for a short while before losing balance. Other times I can’t even get on. I can’t even get stand with one foot on it without it wanting to turn dramatically. Even when I’m on it, I can’t stop myself from turning (to the left usually) and then being thrown off. But now that I have it on beginner mode, hopefully practice goes smoother next time. The fact I made a bit of progress on expert gives me a little more confidence.
Everytime i feel discouraged practicing, i always go back to this video of yours just to remind myself that its not only me whos been struggling so much. And now after almost a month practicing, i could say that i can somehow ride but cant mount yet. Still i go back to this video just now just to check how much ive improved
Thanks for watching! It wasnt easy when i started but now (8 months later) i kinda got the hang of things.Just know slow is fast and fast is slow when it comes to learning.Cheers!!
How do you feel now two years later?? I just purchased my wheel and it got to me yesterday. Today was the first “full” day I’ve had with it. I’ve been kinds forcing myself to ride it. I just don’t get the whole balancing thing. Although I had moments where I was riding it a good while before I lost balance. Other times it’s like I can’t even get on the dang thing. But literally a few minutes before writing this, I went into my app settings and say I was in “expert mode” the entire time. I just now switched it to beginner so I’m gonna give it another try tomorrow. But seeing how I was able to make a bit of progress on expert, I feel confident I’ll be able to do much better next time. Hopefully.

You can always learn on any wheel...Just take your time...after 200 miles you should be having tonns of fun onit....am also that tall and weight...just have clocked 31yrs on the milky way...
Nice one Fred, I hope you’re quite confident and enjoying your MSP by now? A similarly built Scot here 8 years your junior, but seriously thinking about giving it a go, seems preferable to scooter to my mind. Used to skiing, skateboarding and standup paddling, so hopefully I have a little balance in hand, but it’s for sure a learning curve!
Thanks for sharing this video. This is the most realistic video I have seen on learning to ride. I have a v11 as my first wheel and I'm struggling but watching this gives me hope thank you.
Michael, you did a great job! I bought a sherman max in march of 22 and circumstances have put it on the back burner all this time but this spring/summer things will hopefully lighten up so I can learn it. I did cheat tho, I got a big industrial parking lot broom and cut the head in half and got big host clamps from NAPA to hold the broom pieces on the bottoms of the pedals lol. I'm too old to hit the ground and bounce right back from it, I kind of crunch now 🤣😂
@@MichaelMutai Now that I've been at it for almost a month, I feel more confident on it. I've even been riding it down a hill to work less than a mile away, farmer's market, and to friend's house and even went on a 5 mile ride all the way to my mom's place of work near the coast to jump start my sister's car who was with my mom at the time, and as much as I'd like to say it went swimmingly, unfortunately the wind next to the ocean was kicking up and kept making me loose balance 🤣

I know how frustrating it is when you see others riding and you seem to struggle with it. And that starts to make you wonder like am I ever going to conquer this because learning to ride a EUC is not that easy it takes some dedication and patience to get it. I just purchased my first wheel last week and I'm just catching on. One of the fears I had to overcome was falling and feeling embarrassed around people staring at me trying to learn so I practiced mainly early in the mornings using the tennis court at my local park and that seem to help me a quite a bit
Great video I got the kids watching so they learn I got a team down of kids less fortunate in Mexico that I'm inspiring and helping out with lessons and a way out. Thanks again Mike

THANKS FOR POSTING THIS! Started my first day yesterday and can TOTALLY relate. Too sore today to ride, but may try to pad up my calves and try anyway. The success you finally earned is very consoling. The early failures are just heartbreaking from my attempts, so funny.
