I've been thinking of buying one of these for well over a year now....ever so tempting... Anyway, I landed on this video. All I can say is you good lady has the patience of a saint. Would you mind if I borrowed her to record my first steps.....
I highly recommend for newbies to start of with someone to walk with them and hold their arm/hand so you can start to figure out balancing easier. Just keep working at it everyone, even if it doesn't seem like it will it does get easier! Speaking from experience of course.
Very very good for the first time. Great my Friend. I want to learn it to, but i am a litle bit afraid...... :-( . nex week i have a date with the Shop and then he will show me some of it and i hope it to learn to.
Danny Vincent Wear from protection and use a fence (to hold on)to practice along with or a space 10m wide that you can ride from wall to wall. I found that quite use for because you may push yourself out to gain the starting speed and heading to another wall to help you stop. Open area like in the video is not exactly the best practice area. But if you can learn in that, then you are quite good.
I have a twin-wheel Airwheel Q3. I spread my training out over three days so that I wouldn't tire myself out and suffer injury. I have a badly mangled left leg from a motorbike crash and the Q3 is helping me regain strength and to move faster than I can with just the old legs. Have you experimented with changing the air pressure in the tire (tyre)? I have a very hard time with changing road surfaces. Glad you are wearing your safety gear! Have fun, be safe!
Michelangelo Flores Upped the pressure after a few days to get better speed and less risk of bursting the inner tube on curbs. Feels better on a firmer setting.
I'm hearing that more pressure is better than less pressure from others, as well. I plan on adding some wobble board and stair stepper routines to aid in strengthening for better riding, too!
+Justin Bowyer yeah just looking at your first attempts, I think a lot of the wobble was actually caused/amplified by the lack of air pressure. Nice video though, thanks for putting it up. Looks like you adapted rather quickly.
Thanks for sharing! To see you come so far so quickly on it has given me the confidence that I can do it as well. Looks like I will pull the trigger now on this purchase! Cheers!
Hi Justin, great video. How are things with you now? Have you mastered it? Had a trial session on the ninebot yesterday.....couldnt stay on for very long. Spent rest of the day on a two-wheel variant.
Great video :) i didnt buy the ninebot one because I thought that it would be much easier to use 2 wheels.. That's why I decided the airwheel q3. I'm using it now for over 3 months and it is a very nice and stable device. Especially when you are using it on very low speeds. But with 2 wheels it is much more difficult to turn and when you are using it on rough surfaces it woobles to much. Next time I will buy a one wheeled device like the ninebot or the x8.. What is the range of the device and was your wife able to manage it?
Ali Murat Sonel My wife won't go near it! Excellent range, uses about 65% of battery on 45min journey traveling mostly at about 20kph. Thanks for the kind comment.
+Justin Bowyer Politicians i.e (big brother government) create legislation but police officers can't be bothered wasting time to enforce it, and it's perfectly logical why they don't when their limited resources should be used elsewhere productively in tackling REAL criminal activity. 4 out of every 10 officers no doubt have family relations (kids, nephews, nieces) that own some kind of motorized transporter; whether it be a electric scooter, hoverboard or unicycle. Besides we're not talking about Segways here. Fact of the matter is the statute doesn't rule out one-wheeled self balancing units, it's still a grey area. These devices are merely for peoples leisure and enjoyment. They're also great commuting devices which are revolutionary in cutting back traffic congestion. Hundreds of U.K Euc riders (including myself) on electricunicycle.org have never reported being stopped by police because we've worn the appropriate attire/safety gear. They will at least stop you for not wearing a helmet. I personally have always worn one with a mirror attachment. In addition to night/evening rides I will also include a blue high-visibility vest (which aids as a reflector) along with bicycle lights. The police turn a blind eye completely and gives them no reason to stop me. It's funny, in the one hand the government make loud claims to be advocates of green technologies i.e hybrid and electric to reduce co2 emissions that apparently affect climate change but yet refuse to embrace these new future innovations??? The hypocrisy is unbearable.
Looks like you just started riding the difficult...er way by freemounting from the start. Besides figgering out how to turn, i think that may be my next step since i know noone else who rides nearby. UA-cam is good for the self training even if its taking a bit longer than expected.
I think you did awesome. At least you can mount it. I'm new also. I can ride preety good but I can't mount it. I need a wall or fence. I have an excuse why I can't mount it. Im getting a knee replacement July 15. It's just to painfully for me. You did awesome. Keep at it. Steve from massachusetts
Do you have an updated video of you riding it for longer rides ? How long does he battery last, I mean how many charges do you think you are getting and are you noticing the battery by now no holding its change lately ?
Nice video. Can you tell me if the trick is to learn to relax more?? It seems that when people get better, they seem to look less rigid when riding the unicycle. Is this what really helps?
john frankling Hi John, Quite like learning to ride a bike that stiffness of your body doesn't help at all. My experience is to learn in a narrow corridor or some one walking by your side to offer a holding hand that you can grab when you are about to loose balance.
Love this video, I remember I watched it when I got my first wheel. I understood from you that the learning curve was going to be a stiff one but eventually I was going to make it. And in a couple of days my brain learned.
very encouraging. thank you so much for making this video. I am not quite yet where you were in this video, I keep falling off, but after watching you I will continue to persist until it clicks. steve ader, san francisco, california.
I've had mine for 3 days and i can only go forward and backwards 3 foot hanging on to the wall ,but I can get on it and off it without holding on ,it's just moving away from the wall in have issues with lol
Stick at it. Eventually when you're comfortable/confident to venture out exploring make sure to wear a helmet to avoid being stopped by police (providing you live in the U.K that is). Riding Electric Unicycles in England is still a grey area - neither legal or illegal.
Great real first step video. I live in NYC. I would like to get the nine bot. Watching u provides more reality into just how difficult it will be to ride one of those things. How much did I cost u to buy and can u convert what u paid in U.S. Dollars ?
That was amazing progress in such short time. I just got my EUC and practiced for a day, and I can barely stand on it and drive forwards. Hoping day two will just click for me and that I will manage turning.
I've been thinking of buying one of these for well over a year now....ever so tempting... Anyway, I landed on this video. All I can say is you good lady has the patience of a saint. Would you mind if I borrowed her to record my first steps.....
Your wife is awesome, she is so encouraging.
Jocelyn Mcdonald
That's exactly my first thoughts too. With such an encouraging partner, challenges in life are met sportively
It is such the experience I'm living right now. Thanks for sharing !!!!

This never helped me. Holding onto a wall helped and keeping my legs straight to stop the "new rider wobble"

Good job and you have a great wife

Impressed with how fast you learned to ride nb1
Chris West He is a nature.
Hey Justin, Would you be interested in selling Ninebots? Let me know if you're interested! Enjoy.
I would personally ! I'm located in France
Hi Justin, great video. How are things with you now? Have you mastered it?
Had a trial session on the ninebot yesterday.....couldnt stay on for very long. Spent rest of the day on a two-wheel variant.
Well it's 2018 have you ridden it yet
like what you did with the protection

Amazing achievement Justin, congrats! Well it's been more than over a year, how comfortable are you now with the Ninebot?
eddrush209mph

Such a high willpower.
That looks like a really nice neighborhood.

it took me 3 hrs to learn
Just got mine. Can't believe how hard it is. Still need to tape it up. Still scared to go forward. Tx for the video.

Dave's Chew Review dot Guide
Battery's amazing, no problem on long rides and seems to be holding its charge
Awesome video.
I just bought one. And the video just showed what would happen.
another thing i figure out turning witht this with your hand in my poctet makes turning alot easyer but more dangerous if failing:D
well done u did it
Practice makes perfect...awesome job! 👍🏼💪🏽
Nice! Well done! What is the condition of your ninebot now? Is it heavily scratched? And where does it scratch more? The pads?
pofrani I just got one yesterday and I asked
The pads the lights plastic the whole plastic, everything is replaceble for a cheap price

Cool, glad you’re up and riding
very encouraging. thank you so much for making this video. I am not quite yet where you were in this video, I keep falling off, but after watching you I will continue to persist until it clicks. steve ader, san francisco, california.
attention all when you get this fill it with enough air in the tires
Not easy at all.... Its kind of circus toys....
I've had mine for 3 days and i can only go forward and backwards 3 foot hanging on to the wall ,but I can get on it and off it without holding on ,it's just moving away from the wall in have issues with lol

really knee and elbow pads but no helmet, maybe u should secure the most important part of ur body first. But otherwise i like the video
will powaaa! keep up buddy
thank for sharing, I just got mine yesterday...and was a tough time to get on wheel and unable to get a balance....
I just ordered one from speedy feet, the ones he sell are not used models are they? Like i mean their brand new right?
thank you for making this video it really encouraged me and my family and your wife is awesome!
Done better than me on my first time.
haha i love how the weel wobbles:D but increse speed helps alot on balance just like a bikecycle
hi
did you say you need to have the tyre inflated fully or leave it a little flat ? when you start out
Zpatel
Apparently does help to have it slightly flatter initially, worth a try
looks like a nice device. how is it work after a longer time
Pato Aparato lo hacía ver tan fácil.
So fast learning 🤩
Well done bud
Great video. I just ordered mine. Hope I can learn to ride it.

Between 500-1200 dollars. Find one used, don't go for a cheap knockoff unless you don't have the money.
Well.done! Proud of u!
Cool!
That was amazing progress in such short time. I just got my EUC and practiced for a day, and I can barely stand on it and drive forwards. Hoping day two will just click for me and that I will manage turning.
Good luck, feels very natural once you get used to it
You gotta be kidding me. Is this a time lapse of 1 month?
Kartik Gera
Nope, doesn’t take long
Jaayb1 I tried to ride kingsong unicycle for like 2 hours and was miserable at it. Maybe I will try again.
Молодец!!!)
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Really enjoyed your video ! Was it shot over a weekend or one day ? Cheers mate
I think it was shot over two days. Thinking about doing another one about riding backwards. Glad you enjoyed the video.
nice !
No Helmets in the UK?
