Love the vid, ty for the swatches! Just an fyi, these are reformulated blotted lips; drip, candy floss, ice cube, etc. Not the liquid ultra blotted lips. Those are a different formula in the line.
When they say new and improved formula it’s not comparing it to the ultra blotted (liquid) version. OG Colourpop fans know that they released blotted lippie stix a few years ago and they were my FAV!!! I’ve been waiting for them to come back and they finally did! The old version were not as hydrating and much more matte (and unscented) than these new and improved version. I’m so excited to get these in every shade! I hope they bring out more shades for spring like pretty lilacs and pink/peach shades! These are great for summer too! I love me a sheer tinted balm but that doesn’t slide around your face and isn’t so cakey and heavy! That’s why these are the BEST!!!
Most are only aware of the liquid version. I have one shade from the original blotted lip (non-liquid). I recently tossed it out due to not liking the color and didn’t really like the formula. This new and improved formula does apply better but I dislike the scent. Smells like vanilla/cake/suntan lotion. Wish they had a better variety of colors to choose from. All very muted and similar. This seems like a nude collection besides Shook.
blotted lip and ultra blotted lip are 2 totally different things. i have the original set of blotted lips and loved em so excited to see swatches of the new ones!
CP did used to sell the ultra blotted liquid lips that you showed in the vid but they also used to have blotted lips in this same formula, they’re a knock off of the glossier gen g blotted lipsticks. Blotted refers to the look of just dabbing a lipstick on and blotting it off with a napkin or tissue, leaving just a hint of color. As such, they are supposed to be sheer. “Blotted” is essentially synonymous with “sheer” when referring to makeup. You’re not really supposed to apply like 6-10 swipes because it defeats the effect that the formula is trying to achieve.
I have Shook and I love it! The formula doesn't last as long as the OG Blotted Lip, but it's not nearly as drying, so I don't mind. I'm so glad they brought back the line, because I was so sad when they discontinued it. Never really cared for the Ultra Blotted Lip. I can't wait to try Talker and Melty! These are BLOTTED type products, they're not supposed to be opaque, these are my favorite kind of lip product. I really hate when youtubers rag on and on about what they wish a product was when it is clearly marketed as what they are. They are meant to be a flush of color on the lips. If you wanted to full opacity product, try something else. I like the swatches that you did, but please keep your reviews a little more objective.
