Just bought this bike 3 days ago very happy with my purchase 😊
DREAM BIKE been obsessed with two-strokes ever since I was 10 or 11 years of age ktm is the leader in two-strokes so it's been a dream of mine to own and ride a ktm 250sx especially with that orange frame
There's a KTM250SX out there with your name it. It's coming...👍🏽💞👍🏻
Love the smell of a 2 stoke dirt bike in the morning !
V B dad76
i just bought that bike mid january and i absolutly love it.
What Jake said. 40 to 1 is more oil but leaner fuel air mixture.
For instance, mix your fuel at 15 to 1, pipe your bike in the sand, and watch your piston melt. Lesson learned.
After 10 years of YZ, I'm moving on to KTM. I just got a brand new 2018 ktm 250sx, I love it.
CHE LIS me too it was best decision I’ve made
R H I just may do the same thing!!
Yep 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Yz250f to 250xc. Best decision i have ever made
I’m about to make the same switch as well, but to a Husqvarna. Can’t wait to try out the new bike!
More oil creates a leaner fuel mixture. Larger jets richen the fuel/fluid to air mixture. You can go too far in either category.
So the 2018 ktm 250 sx is the same as the 2017?
Now we need a 450 2 stroke like this.
Ran Maxima 927 in my 85' Cr500 @32:1 back then that was the norm, and I lived and rode down by Glamis Imperial Cnty, 120° in the summer. Honda always recommended 20:1 per owners manual. 20:1 more lubrication, 32:1 less lubrication, more fuel. I ran 32:1 forever, and top end lasted forever. 125 would be a different story.
Is there a frame geometry difference between this 250SX here and the 250XC or 300XC's models in 2018?
I think I’m going to get one. Does anyone know how much they sale for ?
Sounds SOOOOOOO Good
Why would you run 40:1 when the bike is jetted for 60:1 stock and the oil recommended is rated / designed to run 60:1? Of course if you run 40:1 it’s going to run like crap🤦🏻♂️
Cameron Ward 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🙄 your comment doesn’t even warrant a response other than these emojis I’ve included
arthur bellington Googlecalendar Please explain how could less oil in fuel make the motor longerlasting?
arthur bellington Googlecalendar if you run an oil designed to be run at 60:1 and run it at 40:1 you won’t get extra life out of your motor, the only thing you’ll notice is your bike running worse than it would than run at 60:1, especially if your bike is jetted at 60:1 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I could go into this further by explaining flash points etc etc but it’s just not worth it. I’ve found that certain people have gotten this ideology pounded in their heads by people that pretend like they know what they are talking about and there’s no going back once they do, especially if they are raised thinking this way, and no matter how much help and Info I give to get them to be cured of their false ideology it always fails, it’s like aids.
Jetting and gas/oil ratios are one of the most misunderstood things about 2 strokes i believe. Whatever ratio the specific oil is recommended to run by the manufacturer is the only ratio it should be used at. Dirtbike manufacturers recommend a oil ratio based on their specific (sponsered) brand of oil usually. For Ktm its Motorex and that recommended ratio is 60:1. Thats the simple part of it. Jetting takes time and trial and error. In short, more oil in gas makes a leaner condition inside the combustion chamber which makes the motor run hotter. That happens because the fuel becomes thicker from more oil and less fuel is able to pass threw the small jets as quickly as well as into the combustion chamber. Ever notice how when a 2 stroke is running out of gas it revs high on its own basically, well that is because its running lean and there isnt a sufficient amount of fuel coming into the combustion chamber to cool the motor and run efficiently. More fuel makes the motor run cooler/ More oil makes the motor run hotter. Its simple yet complex and theres alot to be known about it. If you have a new bike then you dont have to worry about jetting as much as long as you stick to the manufacturer/oil brands recommended ratio and dont normally ride high elevations. New 2 strokes have been known to come jetted rich from the factory and that is to ensure proper break in when fresh but using the incorrect oil ratio isnt the way to properly lean out the bike, leaner (smaller) jets are the solution. Now about how flash points, oil bases, and compression effects the motor, thats a slew of info but it pays to know about them as well.
peuransäkit Less oil in fuel will make more oil flow into the combustion chamber because the fuel because thinner and there for a greater volume of oil will reach the combustion chamber and faster compared to having more oil (thicker mix). Not only will your motor run lean but the crank will be starved of lubrication also. Ultimately you will have a new bill to pay sooner or later.
I agree
There should be a 450sx
A buddy of mine has the 300 XC-W. He runs 32:1 out of his
So what you are trying to say is that it's pipey or is just me..
The best 👑
motocross of
my dreams
When he says signs off too early,,by that he means after the bike almost kills you with thrust,, and goes 75 + mph on tracks where 60 mph would be dangerous,,lol
Sweet !!
Well its good at corners.....
Scott Dunn that's what I was thinking. How stupid we're just going to keep showing us railing turns.
Moto is all about corners
2018 KTM 250sx w ONLY 2hrs on it for sale! www.cycletrader.com/listing/2018-KTM-SX-250-5005912406
212 pounds 51 HP
vs
230 pounds 54 HP 4stroke WTF DO YOU MEAN IT CANT RIDE AGAINST THEM
the 450 makes 60HP and that sx only makes 47
Hey, why didn't you guys play more music over the riding? (We always hated it when you did that, no matter what bike)
Make it a 350sx and it will beat 450 4 stroke. Make a 450 sx and it will lap a 450 4 stroke. EQUAL DISPLACEMENT in the pros !
give js7 or rv2 a 125 in their prime and they could lap 450 pros. It's not the bike it's the rider, that being said fuckyea I want 350 or 450 2 strokes racing in pros.
Even just more research and development into the 250 2 strokes and they could be a lot faster than the 450's
Teddy F damn right
Teddy F and a modern. 2 stroke like this ktm just bigger
.308or5.56? Are you cranky? 300cc only. Not 350cc.
Keihin > Mikuni
why
Orange frame!
🚀 🚀🚀
Need a 450SX.
Why buy a brand new bike and have to work with the jetting and suspension???
Yamaha dialed it decade's ago.
Plus is more fun and bulletproof.
Yz any day if the week
I was thinking the same thing. I plan on buying a 2019 YZ250 two-stroke and skip on the KTM. I have also read where the throttle cable comes off the top of the carb and causes it to stick wide open. I'm going with the Yamaha.
@@hjmoto you won't regret.
I rode one few days ago and i had a blast
It was the most fan bike i have ever riden.
I will buy one brand new, soon or later
Why? Because anyone that knows anything about motors, and especially mx bikes, knows that depending on where you live and how fat you are, you always need to adjust a bike to suit.
If you think otherwise go back to push bikes
Andreas is a yamaha fanboy that clearly has yamaha insecurities
If you are close to a seriois rider, jetting and suspension is the first thing you modify. Everyone thinks with sss you can do freestyle one day and enduro the next. I hated my SSS forks for harescrambles. The AER48 feel much better, and thats stock for stock.
I hate thumpers wish the ama wouldn’t have screwed motocross with the thumper push... le sigh 😔
Yz all day baby
you're high
Kirk Williams Actually Ktm is far behind in the most important thing on a dirt bike, The suspension.
Remember that ktm didn't even had a linkage in 2010!!!!
Yamaha build a bike 12 years ago that competes the ktm and still has way better suspension.
Its ridiculous to buy a brand new bike today and have to work with the jetting and the suspension.
Yamaha have dialed it decades ago plus is way more fun and bulletproof.
Yamaha baby any day of the week
can't get the parts you need from ktm for the carb to work correctly, kinda sucks . 65sx is this way carb don't work correctly an no parts available !!! wtf@ktm
Crf all day baby
The host needs an update to his shaver,,yikes!
Looks like a pumpkin.
beginning intro vid.. where he drops from a helicopter.. has to be totally fake..
its a KTM after all.... frame would of snapped :P
You know what they say about KTM's..... KTM sunday, ATM monday
Yz 250= cheaper, more torque, better parts availability. Better looking, better bike
Shane Rosenthal better suspension and jetting problem free.
Perfect out of the box.
Yz is still the best
Jetting? It's efi
JACKX360 it's got a carb so it has jets in it. I own the bike and ktm even gives you different jetting.
TG821 wtf? Then how is it efi?
JACKX360 it's not.
TG821 wtf??
JACKX360 it's 2 stroke bro they don't have efi like 4 strokes but u can buy a fule injection kit for all 2 strokes makes it feel like a 4 stroke it's sick
