@@thesalt3603 My point is that for this kind of ridiculously high price for a keyboard and standards widely avaliable at the time all the features of 915x should've beeen already in 915. Especially USB C, to not include it was just insulting.
@GiltleyRage i get we aint in the 2010s for it to be a micro usb but tbh making it seem like the BIGGEST issue on the planet is stupid from my pov, ya cannot tell me thats the worst issue it has when it could have something WAY worse, ive alredy seen previews on it, im planning to get the 915 tkl wireless, because of 2 reason, affordable in todays age after a long time of release and second would be that it has everything im looking for, im deciding on what keys ill use if tactical or linear atm because i aint going for clicky. I understand where you are foming from but the micro usb is the least of the problems om a keyboard because at the end of the day you can get them, or you can mod it because thats a thing
@@thesalt3603 Never said micro USB is the biggest issue on the planet, and 915/815 series had others (wobbly keys, dying leds, fragile kaycaps) but it is a serious one for wireless keyboard. No USB C was enough for me to settle for wired 815 instead, cause if I'm about to spend that much for a keyboard, I don't want to deal with a port which will eventually bend inside from costantly pluging and unplagging it, preventing me from charging and therfore using it. I've been dealing with micro USB enough to know how easily these things break, trust me. You always judge it dor the price though, that's why I pointed out that for it's price it was just ridiculous. Now 915x seems to be worth it but I guess I will still wait for a better peice deal.
As a long-time user of the 915, I find a major update significant. The keys' secondary functions are now backlit, which is fantastic for someone like me who often types in the dark.
So, the changes from 2019: - Improvements from the TKL now also on the full-sized version - Dongle storage, rounded edges - Better stems (probably same as those on MX Mechanical) - less wobble, actually replaceable keycaps - PBT keycaps instead of ABS - USB-C (Finally... good bye microUSB, you will not be missed, already shouldn't have been on the 2019 in the first place) Still missing a Num Lock indicator. (Just found out about the refresh from Thio Joe's video about the issue.) Truth be told that's pretty much exactly what people have been asking for since the OG released. Aside from Quick Swap. As for Rapid Trigger... I don't think that was a thing at the time? You're right, Logitech is (extremely) behind the times on features, and painfully slow to release new hardware as well - G915 came out in 2019, it's been 5 goddamn years, and the best they have is a refresh? Please... Sometimes I feel like they're a Japanese company, lol. I had (still have it, stored in a closet) a G915 for like two, maybe three years, but the wobbly keys and dying keys and LEDs made me change my mind about it. Sadly, back then it was just about the only low-profile *mechanical* keyboard on the market though, and pretty much still was for a while afterwards - every time I'd search for mechanical keyboards it was basically just them 10cm thicc af chonkers and strongly proposed build-it-yourself - as if nobody had any interest in low-profile whatsoever. How can people use these things? Hell, even the G915 was actually about as thick as a regular old membrane keyboard I was used to... My wrists and carpal tunnel would scream in pain if I had to use one of these thick keyboards... Finally this February I ended up buying Corsair's K100 Air, which is, for me, probably the best *actually low-profile* mechanical keyboard. Except for the squeaky space-bar that I'm too lazy to lube up, lol. It has better everything compared to Logitech, especially the software and on-board memory. 10 months with it and I'm happy with it still, hope it lasts a couple years... Hopefully more companies finally pick up on low-profile, we really need more choice... And hopefully Logitech pulls out their head from their butt and realize they're stagnating, far behind competition, and still painfully overpriced for what they offer...
I hear ya, personally I don't use macros on regular keyboards all that much, mostly on my ergo split boards where I can make any key or layer specifically for macros.
Funny enough that was the reason why I got TKL version instead. The macro buttons are nice, but they are too close to actual buttons. Better position would have made them more useful. I use shift and ctrl with pinky and the pinky finds them by cornering that would always end up hitting the macro key.
@@ShadowManceri interesting i don't have that problem at all. i guess it just takes practice. but the macros are a life saver because i' am constantly multi tasking at my work. i also pair it with elgato stream deck xl and foot pedal. so i have like infinite number of macros to work with on tip of my fingers
I am so glad they addressed the key wobble! I've always hated by current 915's loose feeling keys. Going to have to get the new one. Also, the new one has USB-C! Finally!

Some mention it could be an easy firmware update but Logitech isn’t acknowledging the issue so no update for it from them.
Fair enough, I think I mentioned the customizability options using G-Hub but didn't go further into it. From my end I don't see too much value in remapping 60% boards and above, though the macros could be helpful.
Is the G515 you're looking at wired or wireless? In the US the wired one is $100 and the wireless is $140, meanwhile the 915x wireless is $199. Honestly comparing both, I would probably save some money and go with the 515 wired to save some money or wireless if you prefer that. The main difference I'm seeing is the 515 is an all-plastic build where the 915x has the top aluminum (But to be honest that aluminum plate is such like a half measure, I would prefer an all-aluminum construction, or just keep it all plastic) I think the overall profile is also slimmer. Also missing are the media keys and volume roller found in the 915x model. If neither the build material or the media keys are that important to you I would go with 515.The 515 uses the same switches and keycaps as the 915x, has USB C, and retains all the customizability through key control. The 515 has the same problems that I mentioned in my video as the 915x, but at the price point you can be much more forgiving.
While everything else has stiffened, what I noticed is the power button on the keyboard is wobbly on the G915 X than the G915 which was stiff (at least on my board).
I got the G915 X TKL and I like it, also have the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL, while that one got hot swappable switches, I don't like the slow input delay when the keyboard is on idle for sometime, I just want the keyboard to respond quick without the need to double press a key to wake it up, and I want a low profile keyboard, so which one are my best option for a more updated keyboard then? Because I am still in my return windows for the G915 X TKL and bought it for €155,-
I just watched a video on the Razer, I can't say I ever had those issues with the G915, with or without Ghub being installed on my computer, that's crazy, and such a high price too. Initially when I read your comment, I thought you meant it was slow to wake the computer itself up, but from the video I just watched it looked like if they keyboard itself just goes idle and into a sleep mode, that's when you experience this delay/slow wake up, is that right? I wish I could give you a better recommendation, but the G915 is the only low profile gaming keyboard I've used, all my other gaming boards have been full size switches so I can't give you recommendations on boards I haven't tried myself. If I were to get a low-profile board today, I'd probably get one of Lofree's boards, specifically because I already have a dedicated gaming keyboard (wooting). There is one keyboard I'm interested in looking into that I may purchase to try out, check out the Nuphy60 HE, sorry I couldn't give you an actual recommendation!

Did return my G915 X TKL today btw and did order the white version, because you don’t see the letters and symbols without backlight on the black one.
@ I had the Deathstalker 2 Pro TKL before with red linear switches, but I did miss some feeling when typing and using fps games. So I did go for the tactile this time, and I like the feeling and sound when typing and gaming.

I think it is an upgrade in sound alone. I have the Apex 7 TKL aswell and it sounds so, SO bad, which is because of the switches. The board also do not have any media control except that stupid button and roller on the top right. All around a terrible keyboard and I think an upgrade is worth it, you don't have to get the lightspeed version of the G915X
Probably not, but after reading I think it has the exact same issues as the Logitech, and more too. The switches aren't hotswap and the keycaps are entirely proprietary, you can't swam them out with any MX keycap. Also sacrifice the media keys and volume roller for a touchbar, I feel like the touchbar wouldnt be as intuitive to use as the roller. If you could only pick between the two, I would choose the 915. Or save some money and go with the logitech 515. I think even the polling rate on the falchion was worse than Logitechs.
Thank you so much for the shale test, now i feel so fucking validated i like the keyboard a lot but HAAAAATE how much they rattle... And i feel it all the time.
in the video, the brushed aluminum looks darker, more black, on the new one compared to the previous version. Is that just due to lighting in the video or can you confirm if the colors are the same?
I have a Logitech Keyboard in my office, wireless. It was allways ok and good. Then I destroy it due to my fault after 2 years of use. So I ordered the exact same model again, I was happy with ist so I liked to have teh same. So I did and what I get was a higher price and a very very much samler battery inside. The bat stays only 2 days, the previous min 1 week normally 2 weeks. So my trustment to Logothech is not high any more
After using scissor keyboards mainly, I find tha original G915 a bit diffucult to type on, and do a lot of typos. Do you think the X is better because of the slightly shorter travel?
In terms of typing feel, aside from the less wobbly keys they felt pretty much the same, if you didn't like the experience with the original you likely won't like it on the new either. They have the Logitech MX keys S that are similar to scissor switches, no? Probably not ideal for gaming but closer to that kind of experience. I have seen a site selling scissor switches in the past but not sure how available they are on the custom side of things.

@@heyitspete9890 I feel old now :D In ints time it looked high-tech, and those keys. Still among the best with the lenovo ultranav (the non-chiclet version). I would literallly pay any amount for a g915 looking keyboard with keys like those. Btw have you tried the cherry mx ultra low profile? Building a custom kb with those might be my best bet.
Choc keycaps have no snap in? Like the proprietary caps on the OG G915 had little hooks on the two prongs but the choc caps just go straight down (from what I can see). So how do they even stay in place?
So logitech saved some money by using universal keycaps giving customers flexibility to switch keys, but you still can't hotswap the switches. Pretty unfortunate knowing your going to buy a keyboard for $200 only for the key caps lube to go out in 3 years, and you can't fix that because the friggin switches are soldered on. Still bothered they never lit up the special characters on the old, glad that changed.
I just did my old one today, man almost 30 screws and the desoldering for me was night mare ( never doen before) used it for almost 5 years now I think I will get new KB , but no more logitech, like you pay 260euro for a KB and its almost anti consumer ,, I do love g915 for the silence and tlk things but never more.
typing this on the old 915 and i def wont upgrade i thought this was gonna be like hall effect board like the rog falchion or something, logitech loves giving themselves L's which hurts me cos i use to love them
Ditto I used to buy pretty much almost all Logitech products from my mice to my keyboards my headset I was even thinking about getting some of their speakers, the products are still decent but they just aren't growing like their competitors
Hi, I've bought G915 x linear but sometimes RGB is changing color. Idk why because i've programmed my 3 build-in memory. Is it a software issue? I dont see any review speaking about it. & if the computer is off, & if the keyboard is 'on' as the previous version G 915 it shut off, but it also, if I touch the keyboard, it wakes up and doesn't go back to sleep. Same problem for my G915 full. My Asus Rog Azoth never did that and always sleep or unsleep & detect that the computer is off & shut off immediatly.
Logitech are far behind and I think it's intentional. I remember asking them in 2020 if they will ever update to PBT keycaps etc and they refresh it years later and makes 2015 standard additions and charge much more
I was thinking about getting a G915, but got a keychron instead. Seeing this I just see that logitech would be an awful buy, that is way too much money for a keyboard that rattles like my old cooler master CK350
I like your video, but please, if you'll like us to listen to something, then kill the music. :-) I know it is hard in the start to not look at your own image, to avoid the problem in the start, try to not have your recording visible when you are just talking, maybe add a pair of eyes, an image or something on the lens top to focus on.
I saw ads for grovemade, specifically for their felt mouse pads. Bought this one through Amazon instead, quite cheaper. I don't think I would buy it again, it frays and catches dog hair like crazy, looks really nice though. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C1BD33T9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@amirabasgamer9504 I actually just mentioned this one to someone else. I may end up picking one up to take a look and see how it compares to the wooting and the G915.
Logiteches Marketing is mostly BS , most of their KB are not hot swapable so if u have one faulty key you are stuck or need to open the whole keyboard to work on that, and its hard to find these switchess.
Well technically the only complaints were the micro USB port and the odd shape of the switches, so I'd have to listen to users if they did. But half a year ago I bought the G915TKL tactile and seeing what the new version brings, it doesn't really catch my attention at the moment, maybe in 2 years I'll buy it, otherwise the one I have will break.
how do you not mention thats new version uses USB C and not Micro USB like the old version. That itself has been the single reason for many not buying it.
Whas there anything in specific that you felt I missed or got wrong? Someone mentioned key mapping and macros, I skipped over them but did mention the customizability through Ghub.

@heyitspete9890 200 is my cap. Id prefer wired. tactility, sound, and comfort for gaming and occasional work r my main concerns
@@brobob52 been using g915 for almost 5 years , love this kb how it works, but had issue like for a month where one of my switch stopped working, since its not hot swappble had to open the whole chassy, desoter the key and took one of my g key as dono key resotered it , now it works fine , but I am thinking to change keyboard too, Id fo ROG azoth extream but 500 is too much how good the quality is. I have been using Logi from 2016 they are not bad brand but something they do are not great , like making keys not swappble, and hard to find the same switches or key caps. This time if I wanna get something new, I want to have controll on my prepherials rather than 4-5 key dies I have to throw it in the trash than trying to fixing it or modding it XD , I have been looking on ROG claymore or maybe wooting.
@@brobob52 I do love their mice reason I eve got g915 in 2020 , top of their line back then ngl quality is still good , got over 6 mice form them too 2 headset yeti mic and Stream cam , but not sure for the next kb
Thank you for your video ! Do you think to review the falchion rx low profil in comparaison ?
Probably not, but after reading I think it has the exact same issues as the Logitech, and more too. The switches aren't hotswap and the keycaps are entirely proprietary, you can't swam them out with any MX keycap. Also sacrifice the media keys and volume roller for a touchbar, I feel like the touchbar wouldnt be as intuitive to use as the roller. If you could only pick between the two, I would choose the 915. Or save some money and go with the logitech 515. I think even the polling rate on the falchion was worse than Logitechs.
@@heyitspete9890Which Switch Are the Best
Thank you so much for the shale test, now i feel so fucking validated i like the keyboard a lot but HAAAAATE how much they rattle... And i feel it all the time.
in the video, the brushed aluminum looks darker, more black, on the new one compared to the previous version. Is that just due to lighting in the video or can you confirm if the colors are the same?
I also thought it looked slightly darker than the original model, others online seem to agree as well.
@@heyitspete9890 I use it mainly for programming and need the full ins/del/etc. block, and TKL. This narrows down my choices drastically... I miss my DiNovo :'(
@@okosakaroklenni Had to look it up since I've never heard of the DiNovo that's a funky looking keyboard! (That's a good thing hahaha)
And ahh, I see yeah the mini is a 75% so it would be missing the nav cluster. Something to look into! I like the typing feel of scissor switches, I was using an Apple Magic Keyboard recently at work, I liked using it but missed my Corne.
Wow you weren't kidding, like I'm not finding anything that's not either 75% or 100%.
I don't think most have a snap in, MX switches don't have that either they just sit in and are tight enough to be held in place when inserted.
@@heyitspete9890 Hmm, interesting, the more you know. Thx for the info and getting back. :D
Your camera looks pretty good. But the background is empty, try, and fill it out. Keep going. You have the looks and the right attitude. ✅️
Best review
was waiting for them to add usb c for so long
Logitech are far behind and I think it's intentional. I remember asking them in 2020 if they will ever update to PBT keycaps etc and they refresh it years later and makes 2015 standard additions and charge much more
Hello, is the X compatible with the PS5? OG wasn’t :/
There's no mention of it so I assume it isn't.
I was thinking about getting a G915, but got a keychron instead. Seeing this I just see that logitech would be an awful buy, that is way too much money for a keyboard that rattles like my old cooler master CK350
I like your video, but please, if you'll like us to listen to something, then kill the music. :-)
I know it is hard in the start to not look at your own image, to avoid the problem in the start, try to not have your recording visible when you are just talking, maybe add a pair of eyes, an image or something on the lens top to focus on.
Thanks
What is your mouse pad
I saw ads for grovemade, specifically for their felt mouse pads. Bought this one through Amazon instead, quite cheaper. I don't think I would buy it again, it frays and catches dog hair like crazy, looks really nice though.

All well and nice saying the wootings has better keys but the logitech is faster with the inputs and that's what I'm after.
@@PepRex
How so?
Are you referring to the polling rate/response time or the advantage of lower profile switches with reduced actuation?
look into nuphy air 60 he, the hall effect switches with the low profile keyboard seems perfect and it just lacks a tkl version instead of 60%
@@amirabasgamer9504 I actually just mentioned this one to someone else. I may end up picking one up to take a look and see how it compares to the wooting and the G915.
I had no idea Logitech had upgraded the G915 keyboard. Ive had the original for about 3 years, and just upgraded to the G515
515 is a downgrade
@@lifebeginsat404 it doesnt have the media keys or the volume knob, but I dont mind it.
Nice keyboard but jesus.... logitech pricing has GONE OFF THE RAILS.
Logiteches Marketing is mostly BS , most of their KB are not hot swapable so if u have one faulty key you are stuck or need to open the whole keyboard to work on that, and its hard to find these switchess.
Logitech falling behinde they are tryting to push old stock on people before actually releasing the new thing
Logitech is so far behind. They are following in Intels footsteps.
how do you not mention thats new version uses USB C and not Micro USB like the old version. That itself has been the single reason for many not buying it.
Uh... I did...the chapter is named charging cable/connection.
@@heyitspete9890 you are right. i apologize
@@misael4096 No worries! I know it's a long video, appreciate you watching!
think you might want to do more reserach before you make another video
Whas there anything in specific that you felt I missed or got wrong?
Someone mentioned key mapping and macros, I skipped over them but did mention the customizability through Ghub.
