Alcohol Ink with Blending Solution vs 91% Isopropyl (on Photo Paper)

  • I did a side-by-side time lapse comparison between Tim Holtz Blending solution and 91% rubbing alcohol on glossy inkjet photo paper--and let them dry without messing with them! I used both sides of the photo paper--both the glossy "photo" side and the "wrong" side. I fully expected the glossy side to be a fail, but I really like the way it turned out! Notice how the 91% caused the secondary colors to separate out? Really cool effects!

Thaink you for doing this. I was going to do it myself, but you saved me the trouble. I still prefer plastic.

This was great! I know I'm super late to this video and I have a probably really dumb question...I can't afford yupo, but had heard about the Kirkland photo paper and have some so was super excited to try...so I just dropped a couple random colors, worked great...EXCEPT...the front sticky side was down laying on my silicone and realized part of it was completely stuck down to the silicone :( bits stuck enough that I'm not sure how to remove it.
Obviously I totally did something wrong, just not sure what!!
I could've had some alcohol go off the side so maybe went under (I'm new to this medium, clearly😳) I was using a hair dryer but tried to keep hold of the cool shot button but know I didn't have it cool constantly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I realize I'm just so dumb....so embarrassing. But I have a good bit of this paper and really want to use it for this, but in the right way :)
    Thank you so much!!!

Hi! Is the isopropyl alcohol 99% diluted somehow and if so with what and in what proportions?!
I have a problem with the paper..I can't find the right paper I think..I think colors will come out on the back from 99% isopropyl alcohol. Can you help me with an advice please.. I used both photo paper and yupo paper and on both the colors can be seen on the back.. What photo paper should I use to avoid this happening again?!😊

Thank you for such a great video. Have you also tried this with DIY alcohol ink made with sharpies?

Ranger is over rated and more expensive than it needs to be. Personally, 91% alcohol is best for what I do. Ranger also messed up Ice Resin, which used to be awesome. Now? Meh.
