I've never seen Moms move that fast in grocery stores. Shopping is an all-afternoon event that entails slow and methodical checking of every isle for deals that she did not know she needed until she saw them on sale. I defy you to find a Mom get in and out of a planned grocery shopping trip in less than 90 minutes. Dads? In and out in a panicked hurry while "forgetting" 3 items on the list because they couldn't freakin' find it!
And then saying "FK it, I already paid. Im not going back" lol
Grocery shopping with my mum growing up was like a military exercise. Go in. Get everything. Get out. No hanging about. No lollygagging behind slow walkers or cart cruisers.
The grocery store is an extraction mission and I love it being this way!
We moved last year, and I promise on all I have I was more excited that the grocery store by me has gas rewards and an app then I was about the fact we bought a house.
Me and my dad turned my moms 3 hour trip into about 45 minutes and got everything on her list, plus some things for us.
Or couldn't carry it because they had ten other things under both arms!! And yes, I'm "that guy", even on my own groceries!! 🤣🤣
The best part about these is how he just throws on a cardigan to switch to mom
in public 😂
I was wondering that. Like "dude, where did he get one of those white 'grandma' sweaters¿"
The dad version is himself actually shopping. The mom version is him forgetting a bunch of stuff and deciding to make this video.
Your animalistic breathing while looking at those steaks was beautiful.
I stopped breathing last week at the butcher when they had prime ribeye for $25 a pound. Missing the $11.99 on sale days
@@atomicsunrise85 right? Let's go Brandon👿
@@kj7792 Let's go yourself.
@@TheBriceKennedy Biden Bumper here😨 So sad. You like those prices rising?
@@kj7792 I whole heartedly agree. They're saying we should have tofu turkey for Thanksgiving!! Definitely LGB!!!
The coworker thing is so accurate, hate seeing them outside of work
Same. It's either an awkward wave or an uncomfortable two-minute conversation about our lives. Better to wait 5 minutes in another aisle until you see them leave lol.
I want to avoid everyone and anyone I know when I’m grocery shopping
Or anyone I know
whats worse yet, Seeing them at work!
Looks at the Chex “Oh THIS is what the rice milk is for” 😂
lmao!
Not the corn Chex either, the Rice Chex 😂
The only thing he forgot was the dads letting you grab white bread and a giant box of Twinkies because "Mom's not here"
Dad shopping was great. Steak, snacks, soda...you name it. Then he'd get chewed out at home "This is not what you were supposed to get"
@@deadbolt9019 for me its the other way around, my dad does most of the shopping and when my mom goes she actually gets good things instead of the necessities (bread, milk, cereal)
The "new potatoes" joke is criminally underrated and is probably the best line in the video.
I don't get it
@@liveandletlive2894 New potatoes are a type of potato.
@@colina1330 thanks
Russets Yukons and red is what I know
Milking rice was a clever line too. As a farmer I'm sure that only warm blooded mammals give milk
"When did we start milking rice?!" 🤣
that was the best bit. i once had to explain oat milk to my guy. he's still confused.
My moms usually the one with the small list then manages to take over an hour
My mom can do that and take 4 hours
If I have a list I'm in and out in 10 mins max. If she has a list it takes 1 plus hours for the same list. She never has a plan involving the list and the layout of the store. She wonders around visiting the same aisle/section numerous times. She also looks at numerous items she is not going to buy. It drives me nuts. So if we are together I go rouge and come back to the cart with arms full of groceries from the list and dump them in the cart so we can get the hell out of there. She also has a tendency to vanish from one end of the store to the exact opposite, in an instant.
My mom: “oh I only need a couple of things, this shouldn’t take too long”
Also my mom: * is in the grocery store for 2 hours *
Is my mom your mom???
@@iancostigan5047 your mom's got teleporting powers too???? I swear to god I'll go pick up something from an aisle, I go right back after seconds and she's GONE and I have to spend the next 20 minutes combing through the mall to find her. It's even worse when she tells me "I'm gonna go get the eggs, you go get the cereal" and when I go to the right aisle she is always 5 or 6 aisles over because of something else like cheese or w/e
The fact he wore a female cardigan and went to a real store. Can we all jus appreciate this gem of a man!
The mom sweater is a national treasure.
As someone who worked on a store while studying, watching a dad go shopping never got old.
You just missed the dad 10 minutes looking at the cleaning products, trying to remember what color is the one the wife normally buys lolol
1:39 - Stocking up on the canned goods for no other reason than there MIGHT be an emergency is spot on.
Yes it is.
I live in Nebraska. There WILL be an emergency.
Blizzards in the winter and tornadoes in the summer.
Mom's hittin that 3wheel motion killed it!!😆
Bro I walked in a circle for like 5 minutes at Walmart on Sunday trying to avoid a co-worker, Thought it couldn't get any worse, accidentally ran into a different co-worker couple....and they wanted to talk....
That's when you say "hey I saw our other co-worker XYZ over that way!" then sneak off when you can. That way you avoid them AND you've occupied the other co-worker so you don't get trapped a second time.
My dad would drink mtn dews in the store then pay for the empty bottle. Cuz that’s normal
My mom used to let me do that with ice-cream a few times when I was a kid
Drinking soda while going through the store is almost as underrated as taking Chinese takeout into the mall movie theater
I see by your user name that you are a man of culture.
Do that with a small chocolate milk. Have them toss it after scanning.
For my dad it was chocolate milk 😂🇨🇦
It was surreal realizing halfway through this video that this is the exact HyVee I shop at almost every day after work, in North Liberty IA. Usually just some jerky, frozen dinner or two, and some rum. Would have loved to run into this guy and said "ope."
I saw the Hawkeye tents and was wondering what store he wandered into. Also, Fuck the hawks. Love, Ames :)
Good skit!! Lol I break up the list and have my kids hunt for the items and bring them back to the cart 🤪
This is a role reversal in my household 🤣 my husband is the efficient, picky shopper and I take forever to buy things I shouldn’t
At least you're not shopper who almost exclusively buys things they shouldn't... like me..... 😞
True. I just want to get in and out of there. Taking my husband is like taking a toddler. He starts throwing stuff in the cart when I’m not looking. He’s immediately exhausting lol.
How does he do such a good job of looking like a mom with a full beard?
It's the posture/ body language and the Cardigan.
In those moments he identifies as a mom.
Just moved to Massachusetts and literally just told my wife the other day how I miss HyVee 😢
Jay Gee also moved to the east coast last year and same!
Bro the fact that my favorite UA-cam came across an iowa hawkeye stand makes me like him even more
Hy Vee
Shop Hy Vee
Where there's a helpful smile in every aisle!!!
🤣🤣
As an ISU alum, the black to red ratio is way over-balanced...
When you see your state represented online “its Iowa, it’s me!!”
The impulse buy at the cash register is 💯
As a HyVee employee, I have witnessed actual parents shop like this. 😅
Perfect! 😂
I'm not a typical mom, I hate shopping and prefer the pickup option using an app.
But I used to be a cashier and loved seeing the differences between typical mom and dad shoppers, which you demonstrated perfectly. 😂
I have small kids and LOVE grocery pick up! Not getting three kids out (without 2 under 2) is amazing! If I get a chance to shop alone, I will and I’ll do it slow milking every moment of me time possible looking at every item available for purchase. That just never ever happens lol.
Pre-pandemic I used to take my kid to Hyvee every morning for the samples. 🤣🤣 It was a full meal
this has to be a mid west thing here on the east coast men spend 10 minutes in the store at most whether we get everything or not
He's embellishing a bit. Also it's a toss-up, if I just need groceries then I'm in and out, if I'm there just because I'm bored then I start meandering around and seeing if they have anything useful.
(From the Midwest as well)
The getting things not on the wife’s list is right on.....and I miss beer in the grocery store......
@@scoutmaster33 Where do you live that they no longer sell beer at a supermarket?
@@SighNaps New Jersistan you gotta have a liquor license to sell any alcohol at all. The only 2 places you can get any alcohol is a bar (they have a bar license which is like 50k+) or dedicated liquor store. It's not an easy coast thing since I know Walmart I'm NY sells beer
@@SighNaps MD I think doesn't do beer in grocery stores. And DC doesn't do wine.
So accurate! 🤣 When I step into the grocery store I suddenly forget what food is or how its made
As an employee at hyvee I can confirm that many of our customers are like this. It's abit wierd seeing beer in the main store
But what do I know I work at a hyvee in Minnesota where they divide the grocery and liquor store into two
While everywhere else combines the liquor store and grocery together
I've heard stories of customers from Wisconsin trying to purchase all thier groceries in the liquor store.
We need “dads in Whole Foods”
Yes please
Your wish is my command.

@@SighNaps I didn’t even think of this. Thank you, this made my day.

That was Dad shopping newly widowed. I remember he was constantly asking himself, "What aisle am I in?" Or "Where the hell is [insert item]?" And, "Alright, I gotta read the ingredients. Oh, boy. Screw it!"
Watching this guy in every video makes me want to be That exact Dad that he portrays every time 🤣 it’s so funny.
I never believed my girlfriend when she told me that I get really anxious and rush in any store i'm in, until she gave me her fancy fitbit thing and showed me that i average like 4 mph inside of stores lol.
1:13 “I am NOT gonna grab tampons!” Whispering into the phone.
what's your point?
$9.99 for a 24 pack of Busch Light? I pay $21.99 here in Minnesota. Time for a trip!
30 Busch in Ontario is anywhere from 46.95 to 51.95 it's constantly up and down at the Beer Store.
19.73 for a 30 pack here in Alabama... But 9.99 is Amazing!
@@jtblkice ive never even seen a 24 of busch regular or light just 30s. In illinois its like 13.99 for a 30. Indiana its like 22 bucks tho shits crazy
Way to create new material on an old/ used topic!! Honestly at first I was thinking. " Not again" but I still watched and have to give the thumbs up
This couldn't be truer!! 🤣
Me, “Kids, one hand on the cart or Dad starts singing really loud.” Works really well.
😂 extra butter popcorn and canned soup is all my dad would buy.
hahaha this is actually me and my hubby (mostly) except he is the shopper and I get lost. 💜😂
This could easily be me versus my husband grocery shopping. This is why it's either a team effort or a me-fly-solo effort.
got the shopping cart on two wheels going around the corner! Lmao. Love it! Thats me at home depot!
You have it perfectly, you must have really be good at observing, has it improved your shopping skills as a man
My husband and I go grocery shopping together and lately I’ve been getting him to read my list and navigate the store while I push the cart (we usually do the opposite). Bless his heart 😅
Myles. Do you not use the Crockpot? You don't preheat it! 🤣
Best part of the video was the Hawkeyes tent in the background…. Go Hawks!
Lol never call and ask if they need anything else. 😆 🤣
Today is November 30th, 2021 and there is 7.7k likes on this video and not a single dislike. Rock on you betcha!
Woot Woot Hy-Vee....one of ur best...crap grocery shopping sucks sometimes...u rocked this!
Literally my husband grocery shopping vs. Me grocery shopping. Very accurate!😄
Miles and Trey Kennedy convinced me that it only takes a cardigan to turn a bearded man into a woman
Great vid, you should do one about Hyvee or Walmart when they move the store around, and you can't find anything!!
Now imagine being in the grocery store and witnessing some guy videoing like this with the sweater on, I would pissed myself laughing
2:48 the exit sign behind him 😂
“When did we start milking rice?” Lol
He definitely broke character with how aggressively he grabbed those beers
“When did we start milking rice?!” 😂😂😂😂
Ah! My name is Michaela. Jumped when my name was said. I don't hear it very often.😂😂
It's about time u guys update and post lol 😂
Your video at Hy-Vee with Hawkeye merch in the background makes me homesick. I grew up near Muscatine.
Dude great video 😂
I bet you got the funniest looks from people when you were making this, lol.
I would have loved to see him in the sweater in the store. Did you see the look on the ladies face in the veggie section. So funny!
What time? I can’t find it
Nice to see an Iowa Hawkeye tent in the background
I have never heard of a Fleet Farm, Holiday, or HyVee outside of this channel. Y'all have some interesting things I'm missing out on haha
“When did we start milking rice” ahahaha
Hyvee is the best grocery store on the planet. It’s a fact.
Guys this Hy-Vee is a block from my house, and I watch this guy all the time
this is so very relateable
Oh this is what the rice milk is for 🤣
Nice Iowa Hawkeyes display in the background. 😄
Tendonitis. One day when your old you'll know what Tendonitis is all about!!
what is it about tho?
Perfectly accurate depiction of the grocery store. Except I go with my dad and we just pick out all the good stuff. With mom it was always healthy crap🤢😂
The dang store is packed today!!!!!!!!!
Leaving your kids unsupervised at the grocery is the quickest way to get them kidnapped😂
Noooooo it's a surprise adoption
I panicked and found that 1st exit now I'm looking at a door and no handle for receiving dock#2 🤦♂️🤣
I was just at Hy Vee yesterday! :)
Oh you betcha, yaah
My husband has no financial fear at the grocery store. No coupons and everything just goes in the cart.
My wife takes forEVER in the grocery store. What takes me 15 minutes she somehow stretches out to an hour lol. I go in, get the items on our list and get out of there. She goes down every single aisle. Just browsing hahaha.
Mom: **speedruns and get everything correct**
Dad: **confused screaming**
wHeN DiD thEy StaRT MelKiNG RicE?
Yeh that totals right, we ow you .45 cents mam.
You’ve gotta go to runza and try their ranch! The KING of restaurant ranch IMO
As someone who has worked at hyvee for almost 5 years now, can confirm I see both of these types of people twice a day.
"There are SIZES of tampons?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sometimes when I see a video like this I wish I had a dad but tbh I really think I even need one at this point lol
When did they start inventing 'new' potatoes. . and looking for the exit. 🤣
Exactly our household!!
I miss Hy-Vee. Whenever I have a chance to go back to Nebraska to see my family I ALWAYS plan a Hy-Vee run! 🥰
South Carolina needs to do better and get a Hy-Vee!
My goodness, not even a year later and I can only DREAM of the prices in this store...
Rice milk for Rice Chex…brilliant! 😂😂😂
bro i knew you were from iowa i am from des moines love your content
Hey Man!! You should try out busch Light Apple again for a Pt 2
24 pack for less than 10 bucks! Legendary!
You had me at hy-vee. ❤️ from Iowa
Something is telling me that Hy-Vee is in Iowa. Can't put my finger on why, but I can just sense it.
I watch every Indy race and now I finally know what hyvee is
As an Iowan I respect the Hawkeyes tent At the back of the store
