I'm an experienced podcast listener and I just want to say that there is just something so great about this podcast. Frankie's thoughts and point of view are always so interesting and funny while EJ is a great listener and gives lots of interesting insight himself. There is just something about this that really works. Please never stop making content because the "2000" or so people that listen/watch really cherish it. I've been watching a ton of Box Mac and What's in Junt's Cart and those shows are fantastic. I remember you saying, before I knew who John was, how interesting and charismatic he is and now after watching him, I completely agree with your assessment.
I just want to say Red Cow Entertainment/Arcade fucking rules! Easily my favorite find of the past few years. And what's wild is if Bimmy never hung lights from his ceiling, I never would have discovered you guys. It's a strange world 😂
Agreed, Frankie and EJ have a really good dynamic and they mesh well with guests too when they've got them on.
It's a really relaxing podcast. I caught wind of the channel because of AVGN, but I enjoy their chemistry for sure.

Yeah, this guy was obviously just there to throw shit at you. It wasn't about trying to make a point or to make you think about kids in content etc.
Me personally, I don't show my daughters in my videos, even tho I kinda want to sometimes. Mostly because I don't want to give a-holes on the internet something to attack me with. I can usually brush it off easily, when someone is trying to insult me personally, but I feel like they could get under my skin very easy, if the insults were directed at my girls.
That makes sense.
As a dad of kids around Gloria's age, I appreciate you including her in the content. Some of the family stuff has given me and my wife ideas of cool things to do with our family. The difference between your inclusion of Gloria and something like a Ryan's World is that it doesn't feel like you're trying to use the kid for your financial benefit. Many UA-cam channels starring kids are clearly taking advantage of the kid, and that ties into marketing and that sort of thing. Your content with her isn't focused on using her. She's just there tagging along and having fun, and it's very relatable (plus, I've shown it to my daughter on occasion and she likes watching a girl her age having fun with her parents).

I actually watched your interaction with that dude in real time and while in principle, I'd lean more towards keeping kids off/out of the content, you articulated a perfectly fair case. I think its evident to anyone else who saw it that it was a personal beef under the guise of this ethical debate.
Children in media can be exploited but I never got that impression about Gloria. Keep it up, more Junt SNES!
I just wanted to comment about showing your kids on UA-cam , I say why not , I hate how we are stopped doing things because of the actions of others ,
I took a underwater camera in the pool when my child was young to get some shots of her swimming under water , and I was told I wasn't allowed , it didn't even enter my head that I would be stopped ,
It's annoying , my kids turn up in my videos from time to time

I think some people don't want to admit they don't like watching kids in their favorite channel and concern troll the creator into, removing them. If your kid wants to be on camera and you're comfortable with her being on there, fine. I don't have kids but if I did I probably wouldn't have them in my content because it's not relevant to mine.

With social media I feel a change coming. I think my grandkids will look at me going on chat rooms at 12 the way I looked at my grandparents smoking at 12 in total disbelief. My oldest daughter is 11 and probably has less internet access than anyone in her class and idgaf what other parents say about it lol

Yeah dude's off his rocker. There's an entire ocean of difference between including your child in videos as she is a component of your life, and *exploiting* your child for views. It's very clear you aren't showcasing, showing off, centering content around, or in any other way exploiting Gloria. People just need to mind their own business sometimes.

As a father to be soon, I like hearing about your funny family interactions and it gives me something to look forward to with muh own kid(s) when it's more directly relatable. Definitely never feels forced or weird, I think it's great to keep your kids with you rather than pawn them off and not spend time with them. My wife works at a private kindergarten and it's clear and sad that so many busy parents know so little about their own children because they have NO TIME (for real though)

Lol, UA-cam videos are _not_ films. In the same way that Television and Film are distinct, even if a television episode has "film making techniques." Sure, lots of UA-cam videos these days have high quality production, lighting, sound, editing, etc. Still not film. Even if you take something like, some basic ass episode of The Jersey Shore or Kardashians, it probably has 100x the production of a UA-cam video, still not a film. It's almost as if, Film, Television, and Internet videos are different things. Calling UA-cam videos films, is like when some e-thot on Instagram calls her self a model. Or when some teenager installed Robinhood app and calls themselves an investor.
I dont think there is any danger. But for sure there is a conversation on childrens' consent when it comes to them being on social media, specially post AI hype where you can fake everything. Another thing is subjectivity in your art form. A scene with your daughter in it is viewed much more differently through the eyes of her father than fans of the father. So yes sometimes I feel like I am watching a random families family clips meant for themselves in the future as nostalgia rather than intentional content for the community.
But that’s a pretty different topic, about the quality of the content and not the ethics of including her.

I think your channel is small enough that it's okay, but James would be exposing his kids to millions of people. I think it's the right move not to do so. There are just so many freaks out there, you never know who's watching.
I cant speak for the others but the praise for James not putting his kids in his films its because screenwave is milking him as hard as they can and it seems that he doesnt care about it. He will greenscreen that surfin nerd. He will narrate how his aunt farted so hard that she turned on a lightbulb. He will shill for some chinese trojan infested software. But he draws the line at his kids beign in front of camera.

Our rule with our youngest posting on TikTok (He's very creative) is that he cannot show his face. He has to wear a mask or not appear on camera.

I think it's different with you guys, especially the main channel. It would be totally out of place for James to put his kids in his content but RCE has a lot of variety and it's not like you're forcing your kid to be in the videos lol. It feels natural
I don't mean for this to come off as pretentious, but I consider Red Cow's content to be much more sophisticated and casual than whatever Cinnemassacre makes. Frankie or E.J. having their kids or family in videos is not even something I register. It's like hanging out with friends and family, but edited to be entertaining.
I don't know Red Cow's viewership demographics, but I would imagine most of them are around my age, mid 30's, or older, married, and have children themselves. It's not like you guys make vulgar, offensive edge-lord humor or anything. So I don't see the issue.

One of my good friends loves the Angry Video Game Nerd and tried to get me into it years ago. I've never understood the appeal of it or found it to be entertaining. He's never been able to explain it to me, either. It wasn't until you guys started this second channel and uploaded the first Cinnemassacre video that I actually understood the appeal. While you guys have been hilariously critical of James, you've also done a great job of explaining why AVGN has this reverence and appeal to it. As well as the effect he's had on other creators. I still don't care for AVGN, but thanks to Red Cow Arcade, I now understand it a bit better.
Crazy how far stuff has come, I probably skew younger on your demographics, when I was a teenager was when everyone was transitioning from myspace to facebook as far as social media, my parents really didn't want me on it even at the time and my mom did everything she could to avoid getting me a cell plan with data that I could use a smart phone with, until I "needed it for school", but basically when I was very little this wasn't much of a thing. It gives me faith to see older guys like you doing a good job of parenting in this landscape, staying strong on your principles, because it sounds frankly terrifying to navigate.

I think it depends on what type of content you make, and for what audience. Bimmy's channel is not really family friendly, so it'd be hard to shoehorn muh kids into it even if he wanted to.

Im a single dad with a son, my former friend who is a 37 year old virgin that still lives with his parents accused me of 'cheating at facebook' because i include my son in many of the photos ii post. Nobody under 18 should be working in any kind of film or TV. What sounds absurd today will sound completely obvious in a few generations when people wake up to the obvious exploitative nature of child labor and when AI video creation is perfected. Historians are smiling on me, imperial, can you say the same?
AI videos won't even need a good photo of you in a few years and could probably generate a few good photos from either of your parents. Let's be real, if someone generates thousands of fake images of themselves or someone else when do you believe one of them are real or fake? I have made 20 fb accounts for myself. For the first time, I've got to heavily object with a Frankie take, as a father. There really is no excusing putting a child on the internet where any creep can stalk them or scrape metadata from images. It's just gross behavior, especially if you're aware of things like FaceBook creating shadow profiles of children. That child is going to grow up having all sorts of data collected from them without their knowledge or consent. I know this is an unpopular take, but really think about it.
