  • The US and China have a complex relationship, yet the movie business is one area where the two nations have enjoyed collaboration.

But in the last few years, even this partnership has become more competitive. However, as the two countries' political relationship grows more rancorous, China is opening the door to US blockbusters once again. The whole thing is starting to resemble a romance straight out of the movies. So why is China's film industry so dependent on Hollywood?

I don’t think very many people on either side of the planet were too hyped for Wakanda Forever. I stopped watching after they ousted Thanos and had to dumb him down in order to defeat him.

Interesting choice for thumbnail. Warriors of Future is a HK scifi film, and HK historically has less of the mentioned restrictions on foreign films. And btw Edge of Tomorrow/Live Die Repeat is based on a Japanese light novel, so that's that's also a pretty weird choice. Get someone who knows what's going on to work on these things.

Its so funny, they're trying to prove the point that China is a copycat whilst citing an example from a country wanting to break from China, whilst the comparison is to a film originating from East Asia. It's a beautiful example of Western arrogance slapping itself in the face.
