OMG! I have an MA in English but I can't read stream of consciousness for the life of me. 🙈 I think it's because the way my brain works, I have my own endless train of randomly connected thoughts on the unexpected butterfly effects of life... so reading someone else's just creates noise for me. That said, I've always loved authors like Hemingway and Fitzgerald, whose books are about the deep emotions and reflections of the different characters re an otherwise very simple plot. Agatha Christie does that sometimes too and there are definitely many others. I wish I had more time to read these days and my reading list had other genres than parenting books. 😂

I also use the vanishing point as well but I decided to only use my pilot pens, minus my Custom 823, with cartridges. I also don’t like the uniball one, it always skips for me too, so thanks for muji refill idea. I’m also interested to look into some of the books you suggested. I majored in Spanish Language and Literature, but it’s been a while since I’ve read in Spanish, but you’re making me want to get back into that habit.

I just find the covers on google and copy them in a document. I usually size them to 3.8 or 4 centimeters tall. I just use regular copy paper and print them out! ✨ hopefully that helps 🍀

i had a quite similar experience reading 'pond' by claire-louise bennett! i liked the writing style, but i felt such a disconnect from the narrator. there was one paragraph and some scattered sentences i really enjoyed, but the rest i kind of struggled to get through, even though i liked the style and, like you, i quite like books where nothing much happens haha. looking forward to the video about your fave reads of the year! 🍀
Ah, this is making me rethink everything. Maybe her prose is beautiful, but it feels so disconnected that nothing truly grabs me. I think I’ll skim through Pond and see how I feel!

I hate those pilot converters!! You gotta use the cartridge in the vanishing point to get the best ink mileage. Just use a syringe to fill it

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you got a dud. I have a ton of Uni Ones and they're stellar. They've even managed to veer me off of fountain pens! 🫣
Then I will need to repurchase one, because the one i have skips like crazy!
