Agreed, for us Brits some ingredients/conventions are unfamiliar, I'm fascinated by the differences between US and UK cuisine. One thing I notice is how generously Americans season everything as they go along. Some add so many different combinations of seasoning and spice rubs, I wonder if they';; know which kind of meat they're eating, lol! (Not you Karen, I hasten to add!) I've searched every supermarket for a jar of chicken bouillon powder - used by so many American UA-cam cooks, in so many soups, stews, stir fries and various savoury recipes. But so far I've failed to find it anywhere! It looks such a useful addition to so many dishes too. Great chatting with you! X

This cracked me up because I do exactly the same thing. I did this the other day, Karen with "cubes" of beef (stew) in my crockpot. I took the stroganoff package out of H Helper, added it with beef broth, minced onions, cooked it with the beef for about 6 hour. Poured drained amish noodles over it and cooked another 15. I added cheddar cheese to my husband's. Love these ideas!!!

This looks so very good and a perfect pantry/freezer meal. Moms could even sneak extra veggies into their kids....LOL, I had to find ways. This is a sit in my easy chair, with a bowl and a good movie, meal😊! I would think that this would make a very good potluck dish, as well.
Looks great! A quick one pot meal that most people have everything stocked. Can even cook the meat if it isn't thawed out yet. Been caught with a long day out and come home with nothing planned to cook and no thawed meat.
I LOVE Better than Bouillon Bases! That looks amazing!! Also, if people don't like meat, they can do any type of beans. A salad would be perfect with it.
ooh this is like risoni (pasta shaped like rice ) made like risotto rice with broth and cheese...... my aunt made it all the time only with peas tho, and cheese, not with meat but this looks excellent.....

Oh Karen I made this today but kinda tweaked. It I handed taco seasoning some salsa and just a few green chilis . Then some cheese and topped it with tater tots it was sooo good .I hope you and Pop Jones like it. This way.😊
My family loves goulash....add some good ol' garlic bread and ummmmm. Love the idea of adding the extra flavors though. Velveeta is our friend when making goulash...lol. I don't use rotel I just put in petite diced tomatoes. Chicken with rotel would be great though. More cheese the merrier I say...lol. Good job Karen....love, hugs and blessings.

I use elbows too but my goulash has pinto beans instead of peas.

Not really. You can use less if you want to. I use what we like.
To much cheese I who had add red wine instead of more cheese .
