I hung a camera on the 11th on a brand new property and got a monster on the 14th, he showed up a few more times with a hot doe and he disappeared for a day breeding her and came back a 730 Saturday after hunting all day long chasing 4 does! Hes 5 plus and the biggest frame deer i ever got! He's a clean 8 and 150 all Day long! He has the beams, brows, tines and mass to maybe break 50! It's unreal how big he is! Looks alot like mitch but more mature! It is very difficult in the eastern KY mnts to get a deer of that size on trail cam. I got 4 different properties and only have 2 shooters! One shooter showed up after disappearing for a few weeks last night and he worked the scrape harder than i ever seen a buck paw the ground, he just kept doing it and got real aggressive with the licking branches pulling them down and letting them fly back up! I love watching there behavior as much as anything, especially if you can get video of them in bedding areas ! Good video bro!
I think you’re close to my area and you’re right it’s been a tough season. I’m still chasing my target buck with no luck yet. It’s possible that Mitch doesn’t rut in the same area that he summers in. With that said it’s possible these bucks are going to start traveling further in search of estrous does. Stick with it, next week or so with these cold temps things could get interesting! Good Luck!
