Being to that fishing spot over a decade ago. Still remember because of the bird nests. But too many Hmong so fish are near extinction. 8 hours drive from MN and stayed 2 days and caught nothing. There used to be no limit for white bass. There's now a limit of 20/day (40/possession). This goes to show how low white basses are now.
No white bass cause all the MN hmong ppl cleaned them up with their coolers a few weeks ago. Lmao. A little too late now. This is what happen when hundreds of family bring coolers and don't care about the limit.
We have no idea how many fish are in this BIG body of water...it isn't going away so soon. Those who dare to over limit are taking a HUGE risk for punishment.
I'll never understand why Hmong people stock up 3-4 freezers with white bass. Fish and seafood is best when it's fresh all the top culinary chefs around the globe have made that clear. Fish after being in the freezer for a few months doesn't even taste good anymore it's just a big waste and negatively impacts the fish population and the image of other Hmong outdoorsmen who respect the land and wildlife.
I have witnessed my Hmong people went from keeping every Largemouth Bass to catching and releasing...I promise you that day will come for the White Bass, but I tell you we are still enjoying the joy of keeping MORE for now.
Nice catch..👍👍
Yes, I agree that bad timing for this past weekend just came from there
