But that'll take time to finish, so be patient :) All tracks left out of this medley (on purpose / forgot / didn't know existed): - S2 Acid Hues (in-game) [It's just a slightly edited version of the original Acid Hues. It's not even a new mix, just slight speed change and some parts have been edited out or moved. Nothing that's noticable in a medley] - S2 Shark Bytes (Final Fest) [Same reasoning as the Acid Hues version just mentioned] - S2OE Reaching the Surface [It's just some ambient sounds leading into a filtered Nasty Majesty, not really a noteworthy version to include in such a medley] - S2OE It's Over (Octotune Version) [Identical to the ingame version, just without Pearls scream and instead a slight fade out of the melody that comes before. Also since it released on the Octotune album originally, I wouldn't even mention it here, but it got rereleased on Nintendo Music as part of the Splatoon 2 OST, which could make you think it's part of the original OST. That's why I mention it here.] - S3 Three Wishes (Pre-Show) [This build up isn't really a song on it's own and smoothly transitions into the real song itself, so you could kinda argue it just one song, which is why it specifically isn't in here] - S3 Anarchy Splatcast (Grand Festival) (Outro) [This little Now or Never! jingle to end off the News section while the Grand Festival was going on, I kinda forgot about that. Not sure how I would've incorporated that in this medley, but it should probably be here] - S3 Titlescreen (Splatfest) (Day 1) (Inkopolis Square) [distant sounding instrumental version of Color Pulse (2024). Could've included that, but forgot about it's existence] - S3 Titlescreen (Splatfest) (Day 2) (Inkopolis Square) [distant sounding instrumental version of We're So Back. Could've included that, but forgot about it's existence. But in a certain scenario or listening to the Ordertune version you can hear a "cover" (if you can call it that) of the main melody from Short Order. Since that little mini section is the only connection I decided not to include it. It also would've been very hard to make it fit, because of it's different "style".] - S3SO Pinging Marciale [This boss just... "sings" Fly Octo Fly with a very distorted voice. In any case, if anything you could say it's a cover of the song, but nothing really related to Off the Hook themselves]
It’s crazy how I grew up with these two. Off the hook most definitely pushed the narrative of music for Nintendo. Even if it’s the middle child it still deserves love yk 😭
@@StardustOwO I don't feel like they got the middle child treatment. They've got 2 whole DLCs dedicated to them. Sure since those are paywalled not everyone can experience them, but it still feels like it's more to me, compared to the Squid Sisters.
It's amazing to me how a humanoid octopus and squid made me appreciate video game music so much nowadays. I've never felt so invested in music in the gaming sphere, and I have to thank the people at Nintendo for opening my eyes to this GOD TIER music! If I never came across their music back in 2018, I probably wouldn't be as obsessed as I now to Splatoon music and video game music in general 😂 Also here's my top three Off the Hook songs (my opinion): 1. Fly Octo Fly ~ Ebb & Flow (Octo) + Spectrum Obligato ~ Ebb & Flow (Out of Order) 2. Muck Warfare 3. Acid Hues

I've been looking forward to this so much! I've been listening to the squid sisters one non-stop, you don't realise how happy it's made me. Since you've done SS and OTH, would there be any chance of doing one for deep cut? Ik it'd probably be shorter compared to the other ones, but I LOVEEE deep cut (if you were to do that could you include their live versions of songs, such as big betrayal? TYSM)
@@corn_4415 That's nice to hear. Considering the Deep Cut thingy, I may or may not already have the audio side of things done (and interestingly enough, it's longer than you'd expect). I won't change my conditions of what gets into the medley and what not, so everything stays consistent. But I'm sure you'll enjoy it too, if you liked this and the last one. Also, even though I said I've already started working on it, don't expect it anytime soon. The video and artwork take lots of time and work to get done and they're sadly not on top of my priority list. But I'll working on it when I've got the time.

@@corn_4415Yeah, originally I really didn't think I'd do any other one besides the Squid Sisters thing, but then that video blew up and everyone wanted me to do that. And since I do like listening to the different Splatoon OSTs I thought why not 😅
@@JangoMango5 Originally I had it after Spectrum Obligato, but then realized that the first few notes of the main melody in Short Order are almost identical to Color Pulse (Also moving it to the front helped me connect the post boss themes of OE and SO much better with the Ebb & Flow Segment). Another thing to consider is, literally every other Off the Hook related song, jingle or whatever in Side Order is a remix of another track they have. Short Order would be the only track that's not associated with a past song. So I'm pretty sure their intention was to make Short Order a Color Pulse variant, but it ended up sounding very very original.
@St4rryTV Yeah I know. But I kinda needed all these Level clear jingles to use as nice sounding seperators / transitions. I did think about putting it in the front, right after Short Order, since we're still in the Color Pulse theme, but the transition from using the Side Order Boss clear jingle to We're So Back, was just to good to not do. In general, I try my best to keep all songs with the same leitmotifs / theme together, but sometimes their vibe just fits better somewhere else.

Didnt expect short order to be associated with color pulse fully. I do recognize similarities between the main melodies so i can see the sense in it
