I also have ankles like a newborn calf. I find that Uniqlo’s pile half socks are chunky enough that they hide my toothpick ankles without overheating my feet.
For the Jordan 1s IMO you should also go for a loose lacing when wearing them with shorts. They look no good all choked up. Also dont wear the super long socks. Just a tad higher than the collar of the shoe looks best if you dont want your legs to look short. My fav sneaker with shorts gotta be the 4s. All white forces are also dope and timeless
As a 5’8 guy I never realized before how Shorts that were longer and had bigger leg holes made me look shorter. I switched up to slightly above the knee and small leg holes and it really compliments my figure more.
FYI this is all just opinion..you should wear whatever you like whenever you like
