I really like the look of this. I know you end up using the cardboard grain running the other way in your next video and it looks great too, but this way reminds me of the look of rough sawn timber. I think it would look great as faux wood beams.
It look so good! I wish i could see the whole thing in person, every details, textures (walls, floor, carpets....) , the height... everything! it must be so impressive! You are doing such an amazing job with it! 😍
The floor looks like hand-scraped wood (with that ripple effect) - which I think is perfect for that style of tree-house/dollhouse. Very pretty! Love it!
I just tried these floors and used a small awl type tool with a pointy end and tapped where nails would go..when I stained over them they r really showing up and look like nail holes! I love them!..
I used cardboard for the floors and the outer wood planks surrounding my Moomins house. Except i did not think of coloring the floors with coffee and i did not like their color. Going to try that coloring !
I use drywall compound on walls that are strong without any flex in them. On walls that I need to stiffen up I used paper clay.. my newest paper clay video is here ua-cam.com/video/eh683-nSf4s/v-deo.html
I use the instant coffee for the rich color I get, you can vary the color by the amount of coffee that's used. Usually more than one coat is needed. I've used tea to stain white paper but I don't think it would do the job for the "wood" color I want for floors.

ohhhh a Moomin's house?? I have had the dream of making one of those on the back burner for a few years now. I love Moomin!
Please may I ask how you achieved the plastered wall effect?
I'm renovating a dolls house, and I'd like to plaster the outside.
Thank you.
