    I just realized this series of videos is 6 years old! Your first one popped into my feed yesterday morning and I've been binge watching this whole series since then! You are freaking AMAZING!!!
    I have a lower level family room that I have a huge forest mural (prepurchased) on one whole wall. And I have always envisioned building something in the corner to make it look like one of the trees coming 'into" the room with branches that I could hang lights from but watching this series has now raised that idea to a whole new level!
    I love making fairy houses and miniatures and such and now I have a whole new project planned for that corner after watching this video series!
    THANK YOU!!!

    I love it all so much what you have created. How much easier that you make things now without the clay. So much work put into it. I also love the structure of it so much more with the paper towles on it. Thats what I call dedicated like nothing else👍🏻. Its so utterly beautiful, magical, makes you dream about living in there lol🙏💕

    That last little paperclay room would make a killer shower with some of those lights in the ceiling and enough of a soffit to cover it 😁 ... what I might do.
    Now to see what the Master Doll House Maker does. 🤗
    ...A Staircase! Cool! You could be a cob house designer! 😂

    Oh my gosh, you are so talented! I tore my old dollhouse up and I'm going to try to make it into a tree fairy house, hopefully using all of your techniques and tips and tricks (thanks so much for sharing them with us!). I wanted to know if you plan to continue the tutorials when you build furniture for the house?

      I should have said I pinned a lot of floor ideas on Pinterest...hopefully u knew what I was saying..lanyway..I used a piece of cardboard from cereal box for a floor..I used wide popsicle sticks for a plank floor..I had heavy books on top of it for drying.this am,they r sorta buckled looking around a lot of the edges..do they do this normally?or what did I do or not do right..thanks...

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому

      I've never used those wide popsicle sticks before so I couldn't tell you, so sorry! I've only ever used the coffee stir sticks, which will buckle if not dried under books for sure. I'm not sure why those wide ones would still buckle if under books, that is weird and really too bad.. sorry that happened to you

    That little space above the top room as an attic with some old boxes and trunks

    I click so fast lol!!! Love everything about this project! Quick question in the attic room on the floor with newspaper how did you round the edges of that floor? It seems like it has a base board around it. Love it!!!

    • @tonyasamuels3411
      @tonyasamuels3411 7 років тому

      The outer edges sorry if I didn’t explain my question well

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому +1

      ohhh, I should have shown that part, sorry! My floor had rounded edges to start with but they were not even.. I pieced that floor together. The rounded edges are cardboard strips that I gently rounded. I made 2 thin strips then hot glued them to the floor's edge. To keep them super stuck on forever, I added paper clay under that floor, squished it all under those strips. I'll do my best to remember to show that in my next update.

    Hi Sharon quick question did you put the paper clay over the masking tape or did you put a layer of paper towels? I know in one of your videos I thought it was mention that paper doesn’t stick to masking tape. Im probably wrong I just can’t remember sorry horrible memory. Thank you!😁

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому +2

      no worries, thanks for asking! I had issues in one video with the paper clay sticking to the masking tape BUT that was only because I didn't have any compound in the clay (I didn't know that was the reason at that time).. I ran out and made clay without putting the compound into it. I said on video that it wouldn't stick to the tape.. but the next batch of clay I made did have the compound in it and it stuck to the tape. My apologies for that confusion, I am going to do an update and talk about that. The paper clay I make sticks to tape, tin foil, cardboard.. I will add though, if you don't mind doing the extra step of adding the paper towel, I find it gives a nicer surface to work with.. like on ceilings, the paper clay will go up and stay put a little bit "nicer" with the paper towel on it BUT again, it will also stick without it, just needs a bit more attention.

    I just noticed the crackled blue ceiling!!!u did that I suppose?

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому +1

      it's not done. I'm hoping to make it look like a blue and cloudy sky. It has those crackles in it so I found when I white washed it, it looked cloudy.. but it takes a bit out of me since I can't look up for too long due to a neck issue. I should be done in 5 yrs, lol

    • @ginagaladriel
      @ginagaladriel 7 років тому

      Hi Cheri, I might be wrong, but it could be popcorn ceiling? I like it in this case as it does look like a sky background, maybe with a few white and gray sponges it can look like a sky with clouds ♥ (the popcorn texure might help with that)
      Edit: and I wrote this before the end! she did some white sponging lol I love love love how it looks

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому +1

      haha, I did!! It's not popcorn ceiling, it's a large tile (like sheets of drywall) with "veins" all through it. It looks good when it's painted white but I have a tree growing through it now so.. you know.. sky it is! I think it'll look cute when I'm done.. hopefully I can show it one of these crafty days

    I LOVE THIS WHOLE PROJECT , I'M IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A FAIRY TREE HOUSE ,HOW DO I GET THE RIGHT SCALE FOR THE FURNITURE ?

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому

      I typically use my characters as a scale for making furniture..

    • @lisamerriweather6144
      @lisamerriweather6144 7 років тому

      Where The Gnomes Live Okay Thank you for your reply I'll keep that in mind .

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  7 років тому +1

      I should have added that I never really follow a scale but if you are trying to get 1/12th scale sized pieces then remember every inch = a foot. For me, I eyeball the size of the rooms and don't bother with a tape measure. Then I make the characters then I use those characters to determine how big I make the furniture pieces.

      @lisamerriweather6144 7 років тому

      Where The Gnomes Live Thank you so much for that, I don't have any Fairy Characters to use for help with my measurements ,which really have me over thinking everything , I just want to make a really nice Tree home for fairy's and I love your work because I'm also a FAN of NOOK'S and CRANNIES but this will be my first real build on a tree house , if you get a chance would you post a video making a fairy house, or cover how small all things in fairy homes should be Pleeeaaasse . Thank you Again for your reply.
