I actually loved it. Vocaloids used to have pretty weird and outlandish songs talking about weird things, they tended to have a story too. (Which resulted in a lot of fanmade PVs being made with their own interpretations) Nowadays most songs are just generic stuff with HitoYama being the only prominent active producers left to make vocaloid songs with actual stories. I actually liked the direction Mitchie M seems to be taking, moving from generic happy idol songs (which are starting to sound similar to each other) to story-driven songs. Story-driven songs imo, are actually the kind of songs that made vocaloid really unique as a medium, since there's so much creative freedom in using a vocaloid a producer can create whatever song they like and using the vocaloid avatars as actors in their stories. For me, this kind of songs is the real reason why Vocaloids are great.

And my headcanon is that Luka and MEIKO, previously a very close pair, did the same. However, KAITO had a dog sent to murder MEIKO. Enraged, Luka orders the assassination of KAITO as vengance for her fallen teammate.
Edit: Wasn't MEIKO the one who used KAITO as a weapon during the wrestling match? That would explain his motive to sic a hound on her... Hmmm...
Edit 2: Nope, it was Luka who used KAITO as a weapon. Perhaps KAITO wanted to make Luka feel a pain worse than death- the loss of a best friend. Therefore, he would've sent the dogs to kill MEIKO so that Luka would be heartbroken and grieving.

I mean you aren't wrong
Dang, the amount of detail put into these songs. The various sound effects like the game over sound, the silence after Kaito is shot cut short of the lyric that was being sung over to indicate how little time there was to to actually think about what happened, just so much. I may be reading too much into this, but not only is the art really good, the voices tuned very well, and the music very catchy, but it's really well thought out as well considering the genre (you could say the same for Seraphim in the Ring). I can't help but admire it.

Theory: the Kaito that they killed wasn't actually Kaito at all. If you take a look at Kaito's eye colour in the photo at 0:37 it's blue but the eye colour of the Kaito they killed at 2:11 was green. The hair has a different shades too, but I don't think that was intentional considering Miku has a different hair colour in the picture too. (unless...?)
