Menstrual cramps are no joke. Some women experience so much pain that they even pass out. It’s probably the worst physical pain that I’ve ever felt. I have screamed and cried, and I’ve been sent home from school multiple times growing up due to not having medicine. It’s crazy how such a natural thing can make your world stop because of the pain.

So my family hired a babysitter once for my younger siblings. She lived with us at the time, & I remember one time she went out in the garden for something and quite some time passed, but she didn’t return. So I kinda panicked and went out to look for her (I was probs 12 at that time), I literally found her passed out on the grass due to her pain. It was so scary. I didn’t understand the pain she was feeling because I didn’t have my period yet but she literally had this pain EVERY SINGLE MONTH. She would (nearly) pass out every time. That shit scarred me, honestly, I was scared to get mine... some people don’t take this seriously, it’s horrendous pain.. awful

I did this when I saw a squirrel just lying in the bycycle lane. I was in a bus on the way home and saw it. I didn't get out at the next stop. i really regretted it and took my bike and cycled there. I found out it was dead and called the "disposal facility for animal carcasses" (We have big parks and a lot of nature here in my town, so there are a lot of animals). I mean I wasn't happy that it was dead but I didn't feel guilty afterwards. So do things NOW! You will regret it, if you don't help/ask or do something!

This reminds me of a time when I was in severe pain from the pains, I collapsed outside a shopping mall and cried holding my tummy in severe pain, I almost threw up from the pain,
three woman and a man leaving and coming into the shopping mall stopped and comforted me until my lift came and explained the situation and told me to rest.

Can’t blame them. Sometimes people in her situation don’t want to be bothered. I know I don’t like being bombarded with questions when I’m trying to wait for pain to subside. The people passing by were likely just uncertain and wanted to play it safe. If she reached out for help and explained what she was going through, she might’ve gotten a few people to stop and even do something for her.

I’ve had cramps so bad I had to be escorted from my end of year university exam and then vomited in the hallway as I tried to get to the bathroom. It was so humiliating.
Another time I passed out alone in my apartment and when I woke up on the floor I called my Mum in tears because I was scared it was something much sinister.
And then there are months it barely bothers me at all. Everyone experiences them differently and so no one should ever have the “it’s just mensural cramps” mentality, but men especially will never understand.

That happened to me in germany. On that day i felt so dizzy and had so much cramps. İ was sitting in the middle of city. There were so many people but no one helped me. At the end i was laying on the bottom and hyperventilate there were two women who helped me and im so thankfull for them. That was in 2010 and today im a nurse and i help people. I suffer from endometriosis which causes heavy menstrual bleeding and cramps. My cramps have been diagnosed as worse then labour pain. I vomit, pass out and most of the time it is so bad that I would be screaming and crying from pain. I have ended up in hospital many times. Period pain is terrible enough but having the condition I do is worse! Lots of nice people have helped me when I ended up ill travelling to and from work. Please help people, who look like they are in pain. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind. ❤️
This is my experience too. I've just spent four days in bed on incredibly strong painkillers, but even so, the pain was relentless and incredible. On Saturday morning I spent from 1am to 6am alternating between lying on the shower floor moaning and wrapped around the toilet moaning. It is beyond exhausting. I hate it when the pain is so bad that I am vomiting. I wish they knew more about endometriosis.

@@lenaalice_ although being diagnosed with endo can be overwhelming to begin with, it is actually a blessing in disguise. This way you can walk into the doctor with a label that requires medication and understanding, rather than dismissive comments and remarks. I found my friends and family were slightly more understanding once I had an official label! I wish you all the best and hope that you find some form of relief in the very near future. Our disease is not easy to live with!

My cramps are one of the reasons i had a seizure. My body didn’t know what to do with itsef because i was dehydrated, losing alot of blood(the emts thought i had hit something when i fell because of the amount of blood) and had incredibly sharp bursts of pain bolting, it felt like my whole body, every 5mins or so. I hope that never happens again

I had to stay in the bathroom and send my mother a message saying i can't make the meeting she forced me to take. Not only was i told to stop being dramatic, but was forced to serve the client with politeness as he berated me for being late.

Well there are obvious reasons why people walked away. They don't know whats going on, they cant assume that it's period cramps by just her squatting on the floor.

I remember one time I was going to take the train and couldn't because I had bad cramps and had to the squad down next to the stairs. A woman approached asking me if I was fine and told her that I could not walk anymore because I have horrible cramps. She helped me get out of the train station until my brother came to pick me up. It's horrible to go through so much pain many people think this is nothing but in reality, many women experience these symptoms and I'm glad there were so kind people offering help.

I remember one time I was bent over at the grocery store the cashier asked if I was ok and I could barley reply that I'd be fine. Because I would be eventually. No one else said anything while I was out and I was crouched over the shopping cart the whole time. It was nice of her to ask but I didn't see an issue with strangers not saying anything because I didn't want to talk. And people should not expect anything from strangers. All that could've helped me at that point was sleep anyway. Absolutely miserable.

@@MrsCzechGirl not to be contentious but they are uterine contractions by definition. Except that the lining is being shed and pushed out rather than a baby. Obviously there are other factors at work during childbirth but the uterus is still doing the same thing just not as intensely.
