I know I dehydrate faster when I have my period, so if I'm in intense heat and not drinking water properly while my period is going on, I'm more likely to pass out. The most embarrassing time was when it happened at the America pavilion at Epcot.

@@cecilymason470 Yeah, for most people I understand it's rare. IDK why I dehydrate faster when I'm on my period, I just do. It also seems like this might be the case for the girl in this clip, too. It looks like she had to run laps and didn't hydrate properly before or during. When they took her to the infirmary, the doctor gave her a glass of brown sugar soup to drink. I don't know anything about Chinese medicine or medical practices, but I would assume that the drink mostly consists of water and brown sugar. Obviously, they're giving her the water to get fluids into her, and the brown sugar is mixed in to get her blood glucose levels up (which can be another cause of fainting.) I'd also imagine there are other things in it to increase fluid/electrolyte retention. IDK, I'm a Western girl just trying to make some educated guesses, so don't take my word for it. You can, however, take this as a reminder to drink plenty of water, whether you're on your period or not. Trust me, fainting from dehydration is not fun.
