Thanks for watching the Sabaton credits. 🤘🤘 Nightwish credits also usually list the bus drivers. After Forever was formed in 1995 as a death metal cover band called Apocalyse. Floor joined in 1997 at age 16. That is when they switched to the symphonic and gothic. Band co-founder , Mark Jansen, parted ways with them in 2002, and went on to form EPICA. The song is from their self titled 2007 5th album. Lyrics by Floor. Music by guitarist Sander Gommans and keyboardist Joost van den Broek. This was their last album, the band broke up in 2009. Floor went on to form ReVamp before joining Nightwish in 2012. For more After Forever, try an earlier song, "Monolith of Doubt" or "Follow in the Cry". To try ReVamp: "Disdain" or "The Trial of Monsters" , both live at Graspop 2010.
I'd like to know what exactly they were playing before recording their first demos with Floor. Far be it for me to question such a reputable source as Wikipedia (lmao:), but here's the thing: death metal bands generally don't get the idea of hiring a female background singer. Unless you're Therion, of course. Death-doom bands, however, did it in the early 90-s (Paradise Lost, The Gathering etc.), and that's how gothic metal came to be. There's very little, if any, death metal in the early AF material, but they do sound like gothic doom mixed with progressive and power metal. So, I strongly suspect that they were actually a death-doom band. I'd be rather cautious with the G-word as well. Floor would've likely sacrificed us both to some evil entity, had we had the audacity to call AF a "gothic" band. She never thought of herself as goth, and in fact, she was known to hate them. There's definitely some gothic influence on the first two AF albums - and not much more besides that.
I cannot go a DAY without hearing Floor in SOME way! I LOVE this AF performance and I'm glad you focused a little on the lyrics bcuz it made me appreciate the song that much more!

Hi. My experience, as a physicist working in an IT company, is that computers are like the human mind, because we created them "in our image and likeness", so they have similar software problems: bad file organization problems, lack of updates, decreased performance in stressful conditions such as overheating, poorly made programs with errors, parasitic and malicious programs, i.e. viruses. We are much more complex, but most of the problems of the mind are of the same nature and can be solved in a similar way. Using the computer as a simplified model of the human mind, I managed to understand many of my problems. I'm glad you listened to the final part of "Christmas Truce" with us :) I think you're the first reactor who decided to do this. To come back I mean.
