THE GENIUS ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION from the guy called "Guy Bruh" here, READ IT PLEASE, it's worthy of your precious time. Guy Bruh: Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique invented by Komugi that centers around isolating the King (as in the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant King, obviously), separating it from the other pieces and killing it off. Just like Netero and the Hunters were planning to do to Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a counter to this technique in the middle of a game, meaning that the King piece (representing Meruem) no longer has to die (since he unexpectedly survived the nuke, Miniature Rose). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she actually develops a counter to the counter ("she reversed my reversal???"), representing that the King piece (Meruem) apparently actually does have to die after all (because of the Miniature Rose's poison). However, immediately after beating Meruem using Kokoriko (symbolizing his imminent death), Komugi and Meruem start one final game together, a game that they never finish. Immediately afterwards, they die together, leaving on the board Meruem's one black piece and Komugi's single white piece, together in Gungi forever. This represents that the two were always united through Gungi, and will continue to be together even after death, undisturbed and united for all eternity. Meruem places his piece down, symbolizing his death, and then Komugi responds by placing her piece down next to his, showing that she is perfectly willing to die at his side. The black screen where we could only see Meruem's "aura particles" and everything else was dark shows that the Rose's poison has made Meruem go blind. That's why he has to keep asking Komugi if she's still there, because he can't see her anymore (honestly, it broke my heart everytime he asked her that). This is ironic because his name means "the light that illuminates/shines upon all". In addition, as they are playing in the bunker before their deaths, Meruem sees a blinding light radiating from Komugi as she "reverses his reversal", making her "the light that illuminates even the all-powerful light". Despite being far weaker (and ironically blind as well), her light shined far brighter than his. Then, as he dies, Komugi holds him and feels his face, allowing her to finally "see" or know what his face is like. Thus, as they die, Meruem joins Komugi in blindness as she joins him in death. Meruem can finally see what Komugi has been seeing all along, and knows what it feels like to be blind like her, and Komugi finally knows his face, allowing each to understand the other more as they fade away. Even the OST that played during their death scene means "Understanding". Touching, isn't it? Togashi really is a mastermind, and this entire story, especially this arc, is a beautiful work of art. Depicting love, hatred, innocence, corruption, happiness, suffering, loyalty, betrayal, anger, sadness, life, death, malevolence, destruction, resolve, determination, avarice, sacrifice, "true" power, truth, and understanding. Meruem keeps asking if Komugi is there because the poison has caused him to go blind, while he's also experiencing delirium. At the beginning of the episode, when Meruem tells Komugi his name, Komugi calls him "Meruem-sama", with the honorific "-sama". Leave it to this masterpiece of storytelling to make all of us cry for the death of a character who, only days before this episode, ate a young girl's brain
He even changed for Kumogi. He used to say 'don't make me repeat myself'. That was like his main catch phrase, then at the end, he kept repeating myself to ask Kumogi. "Kumogi, are you there?"
Its amazing that the criator wanted to show through that arc that the most terrifying monster can get humanize with some kind influence, and the kindest kid (like Gon) can become the most terrible monster when pushed to it... Nice reacting, keep up at it!
Meruem kept saying "Komugi" Because of the poison, his vision turned to black. So he cannot see anymore. As you can see in the last part, the display turned black and only a tiny light appeared.
Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique developed by Komugi that focuses on isolating the King (the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant), separating it from the other pieces and killing it, just as Netero and the Hunters were planning to do with Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a technique to counterattack it in the middle of a game, which means that the King's piece (representing Meruem) would no longer have to die (since it unexpectedly survived the nuclear bomb). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she develops a "counter attack to the counter attack" ("That move... It actually found a way out!"), representing the King's piece (Meruem), which apparently has to die in the end (because of Rose's poison). However, immediately after defeating Meruem using Kokoriko (symbolizing his imminent death), Komugi and Meruem begin an endgame together, a game they never finish. 1-5-1 Black King -> 9-5-1 White Lieutenant General, I believe, or something to that effect. Immediately afterwards, they die together, leaving Meruem's only black piece and Komugi's only white piece on the board, together in Gungi forever. This represents that the two have always been united through Gungi, and will continue to be together even after death, undisturbed and united for all eternity. Meruem places his piece on the ground, symbolizing his death, and then Komugi responds by placing her piece next to his, showing that she is perfectly willing to die by his side... The expression "Maybe I'm not worthy, but allow me to go with you" is an old Japanese idiom that Japanese women used to use to accept marriages, but since in their case it wasn't really a marriage, it shows their desire to have an intimate connection by wanting to die holding his hand. The black screen/black panels in the manga show that Rose's poison has made Meruem go blind. That's why he has to keep asking Komugi if she's still there, because he can no longer see her. This is ironic because his name means "the light that illuminates/shines on everyone". He even obtained some photon powers related to God's light before his death, allowing him to fulfill the purpose of his name. What's more, as they play in the bunker before his death, Meruem sees a blinding light radiating from Komugi as she "reverses her reversal", making her "the light that illuminates even the all-powerful light". Despite being much weaker (and blind to life), her light shone much brighter than his. So, when he dies, Komugi holds him and feels his head, allowing him to finally "see" or know what his face looks like. So when they die, Meruem joins Komugi in blindness, while she joins him in death. Meruem can finally see what Komugi has always seen, and knows what it's like to be blind like her, and Komugi finally knows her face, allowing each to better understand the other as they disappear (the soundtrack used during their death scene is called "Understanding").
I didn't know you but don't worry about your tears. I watched this episode almost a hundred times (between my watch and reactions) and I'm still sobbing
Welcome to the other side. If you didn't before, now you understand why fans are so fanatical about this series. Some people beat me to various other aspects of this episode, but one I haven't seen people mention yet with the last match before the credits, Komugi is using the move she once referred to her child, which she previously had to kill but found a way to resurrect here and still be a working strategy. And her comment after learning about the poison - 'though I may not be worthy, allow me to go with you' is a traditional proposal acceptance in Japan. So she symbolically married and had a child with Meruem. Way to get it girl! A character that absolutely shouldn't work - she spends half her time playing a game, and the other half knocked unconscious. But somehow works amazingly. Love her.
Was the same for me. Watching gon lose it had the same effect. It says a lot about an anime, or any story, that can create such emotion from the death of a villan. Masterpiece.
At 4:45 the guy on the porch was the real Diaego the president of that country, the one that was ruling and was killed was a body double the real one was already well into retirement.
People don't realize that Komugi was nen user, she was leveling up every time Meruem gets better. So basically, she was always 10 steps ahead of Meruem, she was the best at this board game and she realized that there's no point to it and decided to die with Meruem. She basically had nothing except this board game, and playing with Meruem was the happiest days of her life. Going back to the normal life would be pointless.
I finished this episode two weeks ago. Meruem is the ONLY anime "villain" i've ever expressed emotion for when he died. I've never seen an anime antagonists life end the way Meruems did, and I've seen a LOT of anime. Who's cutting onions in here!!!
The episode 💔 The ending theme 🤡 Anime kinda turned me into a sadist, I always look forward to people react to these type of episodes. But I was also in my feels the first time I watched it so
OK, so first of all, great reaction. When you said you weren't prepared, I literally wanted to jump through the screen to say that no you're definitely not lol I think many of us went into this episode feeling confused about our feelings for Meruem, but by the end of the ep it was clear that we were all completely torn apart by our own feelings for him. This episode absolutely destroyed me my first time watching, and I ugly cried for another 45 minutes after, then watched it again and did it all over again lol and still do cry watching reaction videos to it like right now🤦🏾♂️😂
So that preview for next episode with that ost makes everyone chuckle 😂😂 I was a mess too untill that preview, such a mess that I I didn't notice the ending first time
The bet for their last game was that if he won, Komugi would start addressing him without honorific. All throughout the game she kept calling him Meruem-Sama but at the end she said "Good night Meruem" hinting that he might have finally won a game right before he died.
Damn that's rough, getting emotionally WRECKED by both JJK and HxH in the same day. I feel ya, that's tough. I needed time to decompress after this episode when I first watched it
🫂 it’s okay This finale solidified meruem as one of the best written villains in anime From a ruthless monster to learning what it means to be human Amazing character development
when Meruem kept asking Komugi if she was there because the poison took his eye sight away and he became blind like Komugi, and as for the ending of the king and the two royal guards dying from the lingering poison I think that was a really good way to show the "Human Potential For Evolution Is Limitless."- Isaac Netero, kind of refers that through science and technology humans will find a way to come out on top.
I hate with all of my heart people trying to put morals on the ants, everyone on this show is a murderer, everyone has done crimes, the hunters were not against meruem and the ants because they were killing, it was because they were a danger to humanity, a battle of species, it just feels so wrong to love and care for killua and then seeing this scenes from meruem and still thinking oh but he is a murderer, at the end of the day this arc is all about showing us how even giant ants can become humans, they can feel and be capable of love in such a short time while humans can live like monsters and do more horrible things through the years, humans are from the beginning the cruel thing here, and i find so beautiful that the end of meruem was in the arms of the girl he loved while netero died alone from one of the most horrible things humans have done, just that parallel tells you all about this arc PD: loved your reaction, thank you for showing how deeply you felt this episode, this is for me the best episode in anime and the most precious scene

Togashi-sensei at his finest 😭
I cried so much the first time I watched this, such a good show.
I bawled my eyes out first few times I saw this episode. Such amazing storytelling and character building.
What an incredible ending, so unexpected and moving 😭
When meruem kept asking komugi if she is there, is because he lost his sight and became blind like komugi not just because his tired.
I didn't know you but don't worry about your tears.
I watched this episode almost a hundred times (between my watch and reactions) and I'm still sobbing
I love your reactions! One of the few genuine youtubers i actually enjoy watching. ❤❤❤ too ya sister!
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Love her.
"I'll be joining you...soon"
**BA DA DA DA DAAAAA**
**DA DA DA DA DA DAAAAAA**
I was so invested in this when i first whatched that after this episode i couldnt whatch anything else for days. Togashi is ridiculous 🤯
You are witnessing here the peak of human creativity. GOAT of anime.
Was the same for me. Watching gon lose it had the same effect. It says a lot about an anime, or any story, that can create such emotion from the death of a villan. Masterpiece.
Yay: It did end on me! 7:37
Me: Oh it ain't over...
At 4:45 the guy on the porch was the real Diaego the president of that country, the one that was ruling and was killed was a body double the real one was already well into retirement.
JJK was sad but this just hits different. This one had me messed up too.
" im already emotional because of jjk " so real hahahahaha
Meruems character development is just so good. If not the best in anime history.
I finished this episode two weeks ago. Meruem is the ONLY anime "villain" i've ever expressed emotion for when he died. I've never seen an anime antagonists life end the way Meruems did, and I've seen a LOT of anime.
Who's cutting onions in here!!!
That's something that's always tough, watching multiple shows and getting two heavy episodes back to back
Usually I’m able to complete 4-5 episodes on my recording days but after that day just those 2 were enough lol
One day I plan to start doing reactions, but sometimes it's gonna be tough when a couple of heavy episodes hit al at once@@YayReacts
The episode 💔
The ending theme 🤡
Anime kinda turned me into a sadist, I always look forward to people react to these type of episodes.
This episode absolutely destroyed me my first time watching, and I ugly cried for another 45 minutes after, then watched it again and did it all over again lol and still do cry watching reaction videos to it like right now🤦🏾♂️😂
I relate to you so much. I cried since minute one and I couldn't stop
i feel this towel at the end. need that every time in so many anime. but HxH did it different. i tear up every time
So that preview for next episode with that ost makes everyone chuckle 😂😂
I was a mess too untill that preview, such a mess that I I didn't notice the ending first time
saw the thumbnail, had to come watch lol
the only thing that made me cry harder than the king and komugi was the little bug girl meeting her mom again im ngl LOL
The bet for their last game was that if he won, Komugi would start addressing him without honorific. All throughout the game she kept calling him Meruem-Sama but at the end she said "Good night Meruem" hinting that he might have finally won a game right before he died.
She did say that if she ever lost a game she would willingly die.
To this day i cry over this episode it will never not work on me
強く儚く、とても悲しいからこそ美しい
hahahahahaha im not ready! watches it five more times in complete and still isnt ready
:) I love your reaction! Haha I was destroyed after watching this episode too.
meruem went through all stages in life
9:07
Although Komugi's statement is translated as "I'll always be here.", I think "I'll always be with you" is more correct.
Great reaction to what in my opinion was the best episode of anything I’ve ever watched
Damn that's rough, getting emotionally WRECKED by both JJK and HxH in the same day. I feel ya, that's tough. I needed time to decompress after this episode when I first watched it
Meruem became the most human..
welcome to the club ' YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE READY! OH IN YOUR DREAMS'
🫂 it’s okay
This finale solidified meruem as one of the best written villains in anime
From a ruthless monster to learning what it means to be human
Amazing character development
I felt the same way...
when Meruem kept asking Komugi if she was there because the poison took his eye sight away and he became blind like Komugi, and as for the ending of the king and the two royal guards dying from the lingering poison I think that was a really good way to show the "Human Potential For Evolution Is Limitless."- Isaac Netero, kind of refers that through science and technology humans will find a way to come out on top.
This one drove all the way through me
This anime already make me cry why you make me cry more
I hate with all of my heart people trying to put morals on the ants, everyone on this show is a murderer, everyone has done crimes, the hunters were not against meruem and the ants because they were killing, it was because they were a danger to humanity, a battle of species, it just feels so wrong to love and care for killua and then seeing this scenes from meruem and still thinking oh but he is a murderer, at the end of the day this arc is all about showing us how even giant ants can become humans, they can feel and be capable of love in such a short time while humans can live like monsters and do more horrible things through the years, humans are from the beginning the cruel thing here, and i find so beautiful that the end of meruem was in the arms of the girl he loved while netero died alone from one of the most horrible things humans have done, just that parallel tells you all about this arc
PD: loved your reaction, thank you for showing how deeply you felt this episode, this is for me the best episode in anime and the most precious scene
the ending music always gets me lol
As if they didn’t just show us the most depressing episode in all anime history 😆
my only issue with this episode...give me time to be depressed
Chimera Ant arc a.k.a. Romance arc
4:12 SHE PREGAMED THIS WITH JJK??!!! madwoman
as a guy i did cry aswell on this, so dont you worry
im never gonna forgive who ever had this idea of putting that ending , like shouldve put something somber
M rewatching again😢
not this and the jjk episode, u got hit hard 😭
It's bizarre how a story between an ant abomination that eats childrens brains and a blind urchin literally makes for a better love story than lots of romances
You Sad or Laugh???🤣 8:35
日本人です。まさか敵のボスが死んで泣くと思いませんよね?😂僕もこの儚くも美しいこの話に凄く泣きました。
this is beautiful episode
Hi Yay. Ray here.
Its truely the first time i see you so emotional.. I hope you are okay❤.
Also.. did you know, TYE S3 starts next year as well.. Really excited for that.
❤❤❤
Ray.
Hey Ray thank you I appreciate that! I tried looking it up this morning but it seems there not an official date still right? Either way can’t wait for it 😁
@@YayReacts it said Summer 2024.. no official date yet☹.
Day 1 of asking Yay to watch Classroom of The Elite.
P.s the reason he kept asking if she was there is because he was going blind due to the poison. The twinkling dust that he used to locate palm was the only thing he could use to see around him now, but as you saw, he only had like a few dust particles left so he couldn’t really see much.
its a terrible day for rain.
No one is ever ready for this episode 😢
I thought i was a bitch for crying. I didn't even know why at the time. Him checking on her. Over and over again. Then... yea.
Idk why but watch u cry awake something in me 😶😶
Peak of storytelling... Nothing else to say😭
Nooooooo dont cry lil yay😭😭 but i can’t blame you at all😭😭
this breaks me every time i see it
You cried, i cried, we all cried. But now i cried worst cause i watched you crying ugly 😢😢 :c
I wonder which JJK episode she watched the same day?
Either ep 18 or ep 19 of season 2, probably ep 18.
It was season 2 episode 5, no crying but it had set the somber tone for me 😆
Copy pasted comment
Moves they play in Gungi signifies more in-depth meaning, read this if you want to cry more:
Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique developed by Komugi that centers around isolating the King (as in the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant), separating it from the other pieces and killing it off. Just like Netero and the Hunters were planning to do to Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a counter to this technique in the middle of a game, meaning that the King piece (representing Meruem) no longer has to die (since he unexpectedly survived the nuke). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she actually develops a counter to the counter ("she reversed my reversal???"), representing that the King piece (Meruem) apparently actually does have to die after all (because of the Rose's poison). However, immediately after beating Meruem using Kokoriko (symbolizing his imminent death), Komugi and Meruem start one final game together, a game that they never finish. 1-5-1 Black King -> 9-5-1 White Lieutenant General, I believe, or something to that extent. Immediately afterwards, they die together, leaving on the board Meruem's one black piece and Komugi's single white piece, together in Gungi forever. This represents that the two were always united through Gungi, and will continue to be together even after death, undisturbed and united for all eternity. Meruem places his piece down, symbolizing his death, and then Komugi responds by placing her piece down next to his, showing that she is perfectly willing to die at his side..
The black screen/black panels in the manga show that the Rose's poison has made Meruem go blind. That's why he has to keep asking Komugi if she's still there, because he can't see her anymore. This is ironic because his name means "the light that illuminates/shines upon all". He even got some godlike light-related photon-based powers before his death, allowing him to fulfill his name. In addition, as they are playing in the bunker before their deaths, Meruem sees a blinding light radiating from Komugi as she "reverses his reversal", making her "the light that illuminates even the all-powerful light". Despite being far weaker (and blind to boot), her light shined far brighter than his. Then, as he dies, Komugi holds him and feels his head, allowing her to finally "see" or know what his face is like. Thus, as they die, Meruem joins Komugi in blindness as she joins him in death. Meruem can finally see what Komugi has been seeing all along, and knows what it feels like to be blind like her, and Komugi finally knows his face, allowing each to understand the other more as they fade away (the OST used during their death scene is called "Understanding"). Touching, isn't it? Togashi is a mastermind, and this entire story, especially this arc, is a masterpiece, a beautiful work of art, a canvas depicting love, hatred, innocence, corruption, happiness, suffering, loyalty, betrayal, anger, sadness, life, death, malevolence, destruction, resolve, determination, avarice, sacrifice, "true" power, truth, and understanding.
Maravillos, que obra de arte
I críed too hahaah
Did ever meruem beat komugi?no right?
135 is ugly but best ever.
良いリアクションだった。
I knew this is gonna happen! 😅 u were already becoming emotional seeing him protect komugi from the eagle
Been following u for quite sometime but think is this the ugliest cry ive seen u do here 😂 youre usually pretty good at holding back your tears but i guess jjk contributed a bit too lol
Dont u worry u are not alone, like others i watched this yrs ago and still makes me cry everytime i watch reactions to it 🥹
I told you previous episodes but, you know what ? There are more emotional episodes 😢
Honestly doubt I’ll get as emotional as I did with this 😅
😅 I fucking love you ❤️
What are you doing here! hahaha Love you!!!
♥
