15mm Early Imperial Roman Army

- This is a miniature depiction of a 15 mm early imperial Roman army. This is the army used by Augustus all the way to Constantine. The figures are from Corvus Belli and from Khurasan. The army is mounted to be able to play with multiple different rule sets but I enjoy hail Caesar as more as my rules had a choice.

Hey Phil thank you very much for your comments as always. I took a little bit of time off through Christmas and New Year’s. And thought well I better get a few up or I’ll lose the impetus. It is a beautiful army isn’t it

Hi John, yes, it is a very large and very beautiful collection. It was a little difficult as I had three different armies, and tried to morph them into one. I probably should sell two of these and just keep one of them. But it did turn out nice thank you for the nice words.

Superb as always. You have alot of Essex figures in that army as well.
I think the only SX I have are the Pretorian guard, maybe the artillery pieces as well, but I think in reality that’s it
I actually had an Essex imperial Roman army but I sold it at his store con probably about six years ago
Very nice! Maybe one day I will get around to building a Roman legion for each period. These are some nice miniatures.
The ones from khurasan are really nice. Maybe even from forged in battle. I think there’s some of the nicest
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 I have a few miniatures projects id like to see about getting started later in the year and one of them is finally building my own Roman legion. Id like to have one for each period of Roman history. I was thinking of starting with the early Romans using Forged in Battle miniatures. I actually wouldn't mind painting up armies from Italy during that period. A seldom gamed era and one that intrigues me.

If I told you that, I was not a jack of all trades you’d laugh. I just started building middle earth armies yesterday. I’m excited about that.

I do all 15mm. Started there and will end there. I didn’t paint a 10 mm war of the Spanish succession army. That was fun. I am now painting some 28 mm DND figures for my daughter who complained that I never painted her anything. So she’s right so now I’m painting some things that she will always have and look back on. I have a huge World War II collection and the napoleonic and Collection. I could probably do Waterloo at one to one.
Hmmm, tempted to try Infamy infamy with the 15 mm romans . i have to look that up as my next project and order some figures , 28 mm has its limits and i like 15 mm and 6mm wargames . Cheers

Every time I see Early Imperial Roman armies I’m put in mind of Life Of Brian - ‘The Bloody Roman’s’
Always makes me smile ( one of my favourite movies)
I have got out my ‘ Bloody 15mm Roman’s’ and started them now ( now look what you’ve done)
Mine are whatever cheap I could snag from eBay mainly old minifigs strip figures.

Read a book many years ago on Italian wars - if you get a chance have a look at it, was called Mercenaries and their masters.
Very colourful armies and you can mix and match sides with that one too also nice mix of technology with long bows ( legion of St George) hand guns early cannons etc look forward to seeing your videos on these lads 🙂

Your collection is huge, how do you store all of these beautiful armies?
Well I have been fortunate to have a dedicated space Gaming room and a soldier fault. It’s about 900 sq ft I have shelves with drawers and inside are about 275,000 minis. Insanity comes to mind 😇
where do you get the sets from
I think you mean, where do I buy these figures? At least I hope that’s what you mean. If not, just write me again and I’ll answer. I bought these figures from a company called Corvus belli. There are about three or four companies that carry imperial Romans. They come already made as you see you just have to glue on their shield and paint them of course. These are all made out of metal not plastic. So they’re kind of heavy.
