I see some tutorials recommend using alcohol to wipe the nail then a primer after the buffing? Does this help or should we stop at the buffing then apply glue?
@@fuliviacannady7703 I use the alcohol wipes to get rid of any natural oils on the nails. In my opinion, the key to the press on nails lasting is to not let your hands touch water for at least 3 hours so the glue can fully "cure". Some videos advise to put on the nails before you go to bed. That way, the glue cures overnight.
And even if u don't file, if you make sure to place your glue on both that nail and your nail, it works like a charm. Idk why. Whenever I only put it on one, it don't hold the same and I don't do all the filing and that ish still holds for weeks.
Yessss! Those are cute. I have stopped going to the nail salon and I’ve been doing my own press, gel nails, and acrylic Nails and it’s worth the time and being able to be more creative without being charge more for them to do more.
Yes indeed. I started saving my coins a long time ago. Press ons are the way to go with all the variety of nails and they looks just as good as the salon. With two uses out of each box you I save a ton of money and I still have a great manicure.
I use to buy kiss impress brand or ones from target BUT I recently ordered over 20 pairs from shein for less than 40 dollars. Mine usually last 2 weeks as well💅🏽
The sticky tabs that comes with some press on nails with a dab of glue on the tabs then put your press ons are a game changer for me, the sticky tabs come off so easy with acetone, it like curls up into a ball and off your nail, your real nail bed is not damaged, not ripping, not thinning from nail glue. I use to be like well dang these press on rip your real nail up worst then going to the shop because of the glue !, I love the sticky tabs !!! Try it out and last for 2 weeks with just a dab of nail glue on top the tabs, that’s the trick I find.
Wait so u apply the sticky tabs on top of your natural nails and then you put a dab of nail glue on top of the sticky tab and then you lastly apply the press on nails like normal is that right? Lol I just want to make sure I got the right order.😅
the way that you don't destroy your nails when using glue is soaking your hands in warm water for a while and letting the glue loosen itself or soaking in 100% acetone (this way is more drying to the skin so it's best to avoid getting it on ur skin as much as possible)
Wow it looks like she got them professionally done at the nail salon, the way they look you would never know they were press ons thats how good she did them, definitely gonna try this out❤❤❤great work aaliyah
Yes the dust & rough rigged nail beds are what keep them on for 2 weeks! My OCD was getting the best of me & I was forgetting to keep the dust a make rough & my nails would not stay & I got frustrated & stopped press on’s & still no salon, haven’t wasted my money since about 2017. Let me find some Press on’s. 💯💕💅🏽
So cute but my nail beds are so oily that even that grit after a good buff will have the press on nail popping right off after I push a button. So I always use dehydrator, primer, young nail nail bond, and base coat gel polish to apply the press on with a UV lamp. Trust me you will have a month wear if those nails.... however you did that boo🤗
Thanks so much! With Mother’s Day coming I did not want to sit in the shop for 2-4 hours Friday😟if I does this right I probably will be done with shops🙏🏾
If u etch the underside of the press ons as well they will stay even longer… I use my e-file with a ball bit to scratch up the underside of my full cover tips or press ons.. but u can also take a little brush with some acetone and just rub it until it’s sticky as well. U could probably do it with a regular hand file but it just seems like that would be annoying
No matter what I try even all these steps… the press on still pops off. I work, clean, touch water, and I don’t get to rest. The truth is don’t do too much. Just be pretty. 😅
Same for me and if you wash your hands frequently clean and do other things they aren't going to last with just glue I've tried many types of glue and brands of reasons gel or using acrylic has worked best with them
Try to do all the steps you mentioned, but do them before you go to bed so the glue can set overnight without you washing your hands or doing stuff around the house.
Well that is true unless you find the right glue, really try that glue she showed.I am doing things non stop washing dishes included and mines stay on 1-2 weeks
Honestly was though gel or acrylic to put press on nails on my nails would lift in a day or two. I do clean and wash my hands frequently so just at the nail gel won't last in my opinion and that's after trying numerous times with different brand press -ons and glues
They know lol. People are staying away from acrylic because they don’t want to keep spending money at the nail salon. I’m not a fan of press ons but I understand why people love them. I started doing my own acrylic but sometimes I don’t mind getting them done at the salon
Never been too an nail salon cause I like I had one already in my home b4 they started displaying it on the streets❤😂) but YESSSSS I LOVE PRESS ON NOW.....GOODNESS I CAN DONATE ALL MY NAIL POILSH AND IN TGE ONLY GIRL U COULDN'T EVEN START TO IMAGINE HOW MUCH NAIL POLISH AND GIRLY PRODUCTS I HAVE ❤
The grit doesn’t keep them from staying on longer. The rough /oil free nail bed will do the trick. If you have oily nail beds try a dehydrator. If you have normal nail beds roughing up the nail bed and cleansing with alcohol or acetone will do the trick.
I bought me some press on nails today and I even got some press on toenails I'm tired of going to get my nails done in the same stuff that I want they don't do it and it's $150 or it could be $80 that's a lot of money that could be saving and I just had a baby too I'm about to do this and see what happens thank you so much❤❤

I lost my very good paying job and it wasn't until I hit broke that I realized "girl this nail tech is now an issue" so I went press on🤷🏽♀️😌🤘🏽 safe to say I got another great gig but besides a pedicure NO ONE WILL DO MY NAILZ AGAIN
I make my own nails too and have so much fun with it but still go for a pedi if i need it i do my own toes too ooh i made a nail tech mad when he saw my nails and i said i did them he brought everybody to me to see them then he started acting iffy
So the trick is to leave it gritty.. ahh thank you
Yess u want something for the glue to reall stick to

Roughing up yes, leaving dust no. The roughness/grooves made by filing is what the glue n nails stick to. The dust gets in between that bond.

instead of leaving them gritty before applying glue, use a nail dehydrator!! works wonders.

I do the same thing! It is the best way to apply press ons! 🔥
Thank you for this!! I’m getting into press ons! Sick of being mad when I pay my money at a nail shop

Tired of the acrylic destroying my nail bed & nails☹️
So pretty!
literally! nails be looking bomb🫶🏾
Cute ❤. I love press on nails. Real bomb!!!
The grit is not what makes them stay try putting on nail dehydrator and primer.
Yeah or acetone
Thank u for explaining that, I bought a nail dehydrator and didn’t want it to go to waste 😅
yeah that doesn't look right, leaving the bits of filed nail on there!
Omg so pretty girl I haven't been to a nail salon in years ❤ i love doing my own nails toes and hair so therapeutic

File your nails and the fake nail bed . Mine stays for 3 weeks with Kiss Pink Gel glue .
Same for me and if you wash your hands frequently clean and do other things they aren't going to last with just glue I've tried many types of glue and brands of reasons gel or using acrylic has worked best with them
Have you tried adhesive tabs plus glue? I can get mine to last almost 3 weeks. Try a 80/100 grit file not the cheap ones.
Try to do all the steps you mentioned, but do them before you go to bed so the glue can set overnight without you washing your hands or doing stuff around the house.

You should try putting them on with solid gel nail glue with the uv light since the nail bed is nude the light will be able to cure them.
