  • The University of Rhode Island will honor the senior members of its football team on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Meade Stadium. Among them will be Kasim Hill, the team's starting quarterback.
A Washington, D.C., native who was named the city's Gatorade Player of the Year following his high school senior season, Hill transferred to URI after stops at the University of Maryland and the University of Tennessee. He has played in 34 games at URI, entering this weekend's home finale, leading the Rams to 21 victories.
In this exclusive interview, football head coach Jim Flemming talks about Hill's competitive nature and ability to inspire his teammates, and Hill opens up about the support of the URI community; the remarkable bond he shares with his sister, Kaylah, who has Down syndrome; and the gratitude he holds for his teammates and coaches.
