Great Review - I've been riding the Rise LT for about 6 weeks - definitely an upgrade over my 2022 Rise M-team. I also have the 2023 Wild - IMO the Rise LT is not stiff and does still have some noticeable flex -but I'm not running carbon wheels either. and it's really not a bother unless I'm pushing in Enduro riding and then I account for the flex. I'm certain other testers will mention the flex. While the Rise LT is 85nm -Orbea limits the watt output to 400 not the full 600. It's only really noticeable when trying to keep up with full fat emtb's. They will pull away. What I really like about the Ep801 is you don't need a-lot of cadence to get the 85nm to help you climb.
Thanks Leo. Drew here. It's been a bit of an internal joke that if anyone is going to complain about stiffness, it's going to be me. I agree with you, I did not find this frame to be overly stiff at all. The carbon wheels and handlebar are stiff, and I believe suspension setup on this bike has a window that can quickly take it from feeling plush to a bit stiffer. Ultimately though, its a great reminder that different people have different feelings and opinions and its why we try to have multiple testers ride our test bikes to give better feedback to a range of riders. Thanks for watching and glad you like your bike!
@@TheLoamWolf @ Drew - haha I saw the review of the 2023 Orbea Wild - I was hoping you were wrong back then on how stiff the Wild is. I finally got the Wild to ride the way I want it but I prefer the Rise LT for 90% of my riding. Cheers
I bought this bike after watching your previous shootout review. I bought the AL version as I view e-bikes as “disposable” because the tech will change so drastically and often, just look at the amflow. Orbea won’t deliver my bike until Jan, so the demand for this bike is huge. Great review!❤
Yep. I sold my Gen 1 Orbea Rise M10 because of the flex. I am a heavy rider (200) and ride in the rockies. My Heckler SL is way better. Otherwise, the Orbea was reliable. I found the bike was really nice on blue or green trails. But when it turned rocky and steep, not really secure. Also was prone to peddle strikes.
This type of frame can not be stiff. Look at linkage and swing arm. Most brand has connected CNC linkages. Or swing arm from one carbon mold. Orbea not.
Now this or a wild? Currently riding a Trance X advanced Pro analogue bike that rides like a billy goat on red cordial, as well as a norco sight vlt which is a battleship. This looks like a great compromise but the wild has such good reviews! Love the Amflow too, real game changer but worried about the flex as I'm 95 of Australia's best kg!
I think auto shift/free shift are great tools available if needed. It should be talked about more as it pertains to eMTB. Bosch and TRP are releasing their system.
I’d stick with your Wild unless you just mean lifting the bike out of your car it’s amazingly light but when the trail gets gnarly the Rise gets a bit bucking bronco , if you ONLY ride blue trails then yeah the Rise is pretty awesome but if you want to ride literally everything anywhere then keep the Wild
This bike looks like the best matched contender vs. the Amflow. For the price I'd definitely get the Amflow. I always feel like I have to spin too intensely to get the most out of the shimano systems i've ridden. Orbea makes nice bikes though, put the DJI system in this frame and it would be killer.
@@c0LdfUs10n Few are offering the total package of good geo , and a fullsize battery in a package this light. For example my current ebike that weighs 55lbs would still be a tank even with the DJI. 😅

I've had this bike a couple of weeks now with Di2. Di2 is brilliant, makes so much logical sense. However I dont think it has Autoshift? Mines appears to swap between 'manual' and 'freeshift' but not autoshift. I think even Orbea have said its doesnt have full autoshift. Oh and agree on the rattling, bloody annoying!

This is in Turbo mode and we’re usually just hammering up the steepest climbs to repeat our test laps for descending. We’d love to say that we have 3, 4, or 5 hours to go ride for fun anymore these days…. We’re envious and sure miss them!
@@TheLoamWolf that's exactly what e bikes are for is it not? I understand that most people don't have the time these days. Just didn't realize how pathetic the range is for this class of e bike. If you ever did have more time and wanted to do a longer ride guess you're just out of luck.
Think you nailed it. As you said, different ranges for different people. If someone wants a bike that does 8,000 foot days, there are bikes with 900wh batteries. If you want a bike that’s lightweight, then you’re gonna probably have a smaller battery, which likely means a lower power mode if you want to get upwards of 3,500-4K feet. Lots of riders just want a little assistance for their post work 1,000- 2,000 foot rides in an hour and a half. Which is totally great. E-bikes are like everything else in life, buy what makes sense and serves you best. If dream vehicles existed I’d have a 4wd van that does 0-60 in 3 seconds, gets 30mpg and fits in a compact parking spot but can still hold 6 bikes inside. 😂 life’s a great big compromise… 🤷♂️
Yeah it was an interesting one for some guys. Drew is usually the most critical of frame flex and did not think it was stiff at all. A good reminder to take all reviews with a grain of salt as each rider had their own opinions and taste. As a whole, the group doesn’t think this frame is overly stiff though.
When you order from Orbea directly, you can add the display as an option. If you are getting it from elsewhere, you can add the display afterward yourself. Super easy to do.
I’ve owned a wild for two years. Yes the kiox display is fine, but I wouldn’t pay extra for it, and for the price of the bike, the display should be included or there should at least be some sort of top tube display like every other freakin emtb nowadays.
Have Orbea addressed the battery supply issues? Where you can't get replacement battery for a 2022 or earlier bike? I would recommend steering clear of any model that uses a proprietary battery. Get a bosch bike, with a bosch power tube.
@@shjin yeah sure, i want to do that every weekend when I plan to ride 2000-3000m elev, or if I want to charge the battery at home (not in cold garage)

There is no reason to continue running this dirt catching stantion scratching no oil bath seal design. It's heavier less adjustable more maintenance less durable and ugly in comparison to an ohlins or any other inverted fork. Also props to dji for ignoring the "rules" and building a proper e bike. Also electronic suspension and gears make way more sense on an e bike that already has a battery.... shouldn't need to remove and separately charge 6 batteries to run my "e bike" that already has a built in battery. Conversely I shouldn't need to charge my batteries to be able to use my regular bike, the simplest and most beautiful human powered means of transportation ever invented. When are bikes going to come with solar panels or windturbines to charge themselves while they sit waiting to be ridden?
Can't believe they stuk with the exact same headset routing for this new version. Sold mine because of it.
It's not something we love either. What was it doing that made you sell it?

Interesting you say it is very stiff where as other reviewers (ahem MBR) bashed the frame for being flexy and a bit of a noodle. So what is it?
