🤣 😂 😅 You never fail to make me laugh out loud JT. WHEN you visit the UK, I would definitely recommend a visit to The London Dungeons. I went a few years ago, and I'm not usually easily spooked. But, at the end of the tour, you visit the 'Ten Bells Pub' and the 'landlady' tells you tales of the Ripper Victims. The lights go out and something happens - I screamed! 😅

Try visiting the real ten bells. It's still there. For those that don't know,it's where the last ripper victim(Mary Kelly) drank before she was murdered. He lodgings were just across the road. Theres a plaque outside and is a frequent stop on ripper tours.

How many Devil's Bridges are there? There's one in Cumbria that crosses the River Lune at Kirkby Lonesdale with a similar folk lore behind it.
There's heaps of urban legends and folk lore all round the British Isles, from giants throwing stones to an actual boogie man named Purple Ackie that started as a myth to scare kids from going out at night around Liverpool and turned out to be a real person.

Not the devils bridge, but there’s the hairy hand bridge on Dartmoor. Again more of an urban legend I think. Still a good story that my parents used to scare us with.

Purple Aki is genuinely one of the funniest Wikipedia entries you'll ever read. If it wasn't for the fact a child died because they were so scared of him they died in an accident while running away.

    • @skyrat3816
      @skyrat3816 2 роки тому +1

@@mxmoondoggie895 He wasn't a child but a teenage lad and Aki wanted to feel his muscles. Yeah tragically enough that was when the myth of Purple Aki came true.
I've worked with ex-cons and even they said they'd give Aki a wide birth and were shit scared if he ever turned up outside their cell.

The rumour is that Springheel Jack was a circus performer. He may have used sprung stilts to perform his jumps, and scared his victims with a fire breathing act and maybe the eyes were primitive lenses.

My dad was a police officer in Sheffield, back in the 70s his colleague came back from a patrol late one night in a panic talking of a man running at high speed towards him and leaping over walls over 6ft high. He stopped in front of him on a road called Limb Lane, a road leaving Sheffield in the south of the city towards the peak district. He had bright red eyes and smiled so broadly it terrified him. His colleagues, my dad being one, said he sounded mad and to keep quiet. The next evening, starting shift, a woman was in the stations enquiry desk in tears. She claimed she heard a baby crying in her yard, went to investigate and came face to face with a man with bright red eyes and a beaming demonic smile. He slashed at her shoulder, she screamed which brought out her oldest son. At being disturbed he leapt over the yard wall and fled. Nonchalantly when my dad told me nan, she said, "Oh God, Spring Heeled Jack is back!" Dad is and was a very hard man, nothing bothers or bothered him and he said that line from Nan chilled his blood.
In 2007, whilst working in a pub, a lady came in and randomly told us she needed a drink after seeing glowing red eyes peering through her kitchen window whilst she washed the pots...

Luckily she survived it, but my nan, 93, still remembers it all as if it were yesterday 😩 not too long ago, around 7 years or so ago, my nan swears she saw Aunt May sat on a stool in my nans living room, says she could see her clear as day, and she didn't do or say anything, she was just sitting there as my nan was walking in the room. The thing is my stories were scary lol I’d either tell some urban legends or make up a mini horror story. Without fail day in day out the kids would come for their morning story lol. Kids loved me, the mums on the other hand, not so much 😂😂. Highgate cemetery isn’t far from me. I’ve been before, it’s creepy but nothing happened. In Burnley in the north west of the UK there are multiple urban legends, ghosts and so on, probably due to the proximity of Pendle hill. There's the Beehole boggart who apparently skinned an old lady alive and left her skin on a rose bush, from what I can work out that area it lived is now Turf Moor football (soccer) ground. There is also an area called Boggarts Brigg which used to be coal shaft, not sure on the history of the name though.
During a Sunday pub football (soccer) match in nearby crawshawbooth the devil apparently rose up from the ground and joined in, upon kicking the ball it turned into a fireball shooting across the pitch causing the players and spectators to run in fear.

Where I grew up there was a ghost story of a local cavalier that had fled London, when he passed his head was removed and is in a cabinet still to this day in the old barn and the body is in the church. The owners of the house/land moved the skull due to renovations and weird shit happened.
1st time they tried to bury the head with the body but the sextant (gravedigger) went to start digging he broke his spade. He went through 7 before giving up.
2nd time they moved it and the farmer almost drove into an open well in the middle of one of his fields, he got the deeds out and there wasn’t a well there before, he marked it out and when they put the skull back the was just a marked patch of grass…the well had gone.
3rd time there were weird screaming noises coming from the barn in the night.
    …they haven’t moved it since.

There was an abandoned building near my primary school with a massive bell on the top of it.
The legend regularly went round that when bombers came over that bell rang as the ringer from the top saw the old school be levelled by air strike. Whenever the gates were locked and the bell faintly sounded they said the dead children would try to get into the new school because their lessons hadn't finished.

As a brit I can confirm these... I can tell you a Creepy story if ya want me too:
So, I was playing outside on my bike around night... Sometimes my bro would go to his friends house which is a couple steps away from our house... He was waiting outside for her to open the door when we heard a scream. Ever since, when My bro would knock for his friend at the door at night we would always here a scream from afar. We had a gate connecting to clincton wood and many Teenagers go down there so I guess some teenagers or kids were screaming for some unknown reason... It happens almost every time and I get frightened when it happens... That's my creepy story... Its not an urban legend but I thought I would say that while I'm here :)
Guys what do you think it is!?
Also here's another story of what I thought was a skin walker in... Britain!? :
So I had a car park just across, diagonal from my house...it was midnight and I looked there and then this 'animal' appeared. It kinda looked like a cat or a dog but it wasn't any of em...it wasn't a wolf or bear as we don't have them down in England really so it wasn't a bear or wolf. It kinda looked like a human on the floor dragging itself out if the car park but it wasn't dragging itself.... It was walking on its front legs... I couldn't see the back body as it was absorbed by the darkness... I was frightened... Thankfully it didn't see me.... What do you guys think about it!?
My last and final story about my rocking horse... WARNING: IF YOU HAVE A ROCKING HORSE I RECOMMEND DO NOT READ U LESS YOU WANT TO BE TERIFIED OF IT:
So, me and my members if the house were gonna go for walk-btw this happened like 5-6 yrs ago-and I had a big rocking horse.... We went out but when we got back it was in a different position.... It was moved... Back then we had nice jewelry and bracelets.... They weren't moved... Except the rocking horse.... Rocking horses go back generations! And many people think their cursed toys... There was no sign of a burglary... We had no security cameras so we still dont know what could've moved it... Rocking horses has a Creepy reputation... Thats why I think it's a ghost!!!! What do you all think!?
    Thank you for your time!
BTW JT if ya want to go to UK go for it!!! Test the urban legends yourself! 🤣 8:47 made me laugh! "That's the reason why I lose the remote every day!" RELATEABLE LOL

I grew up next to Bogart Hole Clough. It's brilliant. The actual end to the legend is that the family moved to save their children but the Bogart moved with them.

Two legends from near me. The devil decided to punish the people of Shrewsbury because they were too God fearing. He took up a shovel full of soil and made towards the town to dump it on them and make them despair. He’d been walking a while when he encountered a traveller going in the other direction. The man was a cobbler, he bought old shoes off people before repairing them and selling them on. On his back was a sack of shoes ready to be repaired. The devil asked him how far it was to Shrewsbury. The cobbler replied three times have I filled this sack with worn out shoes walking from there. The devil was dismayed at how far he still had to travel and decided to give up. He dumped his shovel of dirt by the road then scraped his boots clean of mud. The shovel full of dirt is The Wrekin (huge hill). The dirt he scraped off his boots is the little hillock next to it.
The other legend is the church steeple at Cleobury Mortimer. St Mary’s Church was apparently in the middle of a service when the devil walked past on the way to Shrewsbury. He was so outraged at their prayers that he twisted the steeple in his rage. It’s still twisted today.

I live in Bethnal Green, right near the tube where the sad event happened, there is a lovely memorial next to the entrance. Gotta say I don't know anyone who thinks is haunted or heard screams etc. Bethnal Green is still a fab place to visit though ⭐

One story from my home town was the story of Lady Plumly. she was an old lady from Locking. She supposedly killed herself by jumping down a well and now her ghost can be seen around the areas of locking and there's a little story thing in the local pub about her.

Have a look at molly Leigh the Burslem witch. She is buried in a graveyard not far from me and her grave is pointed in a different direction to all the other graves because they said she was a witch.
