@silentninjagr Not to mention digitech amp modelling is far more realistic than this....get an rp 500 and you are set.Even the boss gt10 that costs a lot of cash and has a billion parameters to tweak has really plastic amp sims. However you tweak the plastic its still ..plastic.Boss me 70 is a decent unit but there are better ones for the price.
FYI, check eBay and craigslist. I purchased mine for $180.00 with power supply and shipping included. I have the gt-8 and found the menu system and setup too complicated. What I wanted was a quick gig ready pedal that i could tweek on the fly. The me-70 delivers and is a blessing to use. Highly recommended. I love the layout and accessibilty to all it's features. Built like a tank!!!!
@JakeSimMusic I have one. It really depends on what effects you use. First of all, DO NOT replace this with your amp. The amp models are horrible and I never use them. The drives aren't that good and I usually just end up using the OD-2 and Classic models. The compression is nice, but if you put too much, it'll sort of eat up your sound and make it a bit tinny sounding. Just use a touch of it. The mod effects are great.
I've used it live a couple of times and so far, I'm very satisfied with it.
@lespaulfreak616 i didn't say i wouldn't buy the product just BECAUSE they aren't giving a power supply... it would just show that they care about their customers. and HAHAH batteries?... i have a boss Mt-2 metal zone pedal and that eats batteries like CRAZYY. i can't even imagine how much batteries this uses up (especially if you play as much as someone like me) all i was saying is its common courtesy to spend $300 and for them to give you something to power it. and HAY digitech isnt bad :DD
got it yesterday, its awesome! everything you need in a basic pedal board.
@freakfreak12345 As well as what is the difference between this and the regular boss pedals.
So..what is the difference between this and something like a Line 6 pod or something?
ME-70 is so easy to use, I just love it.
@BuddLightbrain no there isnt any sort of other instruments its an effects processor, but there is a shitload of effects and sounds, in my opinion its definitely worth checking out
Was that demoed through a bloody camera phone? Sounds fuk all all the tones I get from mine.
He just shows you how to use this model. He only played enough to get the idea of the sound. I thought he did a great job! Most of these guys that demo effects units like to show off their playing more than demoing the unit! So annoying!
Yeah, just like my HP Printer that didn't come with a fucking USB cable ? SERIOUSLY ?
@silentninjagr Good point!
Does it have a looper.. As in to loop like a backing track
dude totally skips over the only section I was interested in hearing about
Sounds like this pedal is more for Hard Rock not many Country music effects in this thing LoL ...
You can actually get really good country tone out of this pedal
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?!
I am planning on buying this but I really need to know how this sounds live. I don't like the "electronic /processed" kind of sound. Does it sound as if they were really separate pedals? For the owners of the Boss ME-70, how does it sound to you? thanks.
How much more is it worth buying the ME70 over the ME25 ? The ME70 is almost 100£ more expensive than the ME25 but is it actually worth it ? I'm gonna buy one of em soon so I'm just asking around everywhere hehe...thanks
@jeffgnr i tested it out with a high end yamaha passive bass, and it ruined the sound. i tried using efx, and it sounded like shit, then i tried just zeroing out everything just to get pure tone, and it still ruined the sound. i like it for guitar, but bass not so much. hope that helps.
Holding down the delay pedal for several seconds for the tap function is hardly "on-the-fly." If you don't do it before the tune, you're beat. Distortion sounds like Marshall by Mattel.
I play often with a Boss GT-5, it's not mine but it is really complex, at least for me. It's powerful and flexible, but I really like the idea of this one being like 4 stompboxes, simple. I think I will give it a try. I wish there was a cheaper edition without the expression pedal, I like to plug an external one better.
I wish I knew what this recording setup is. It looks like he's just using a 1/4" out, but wouldn't that just record mono? I wish I knew the interface/software he's using. Any guesses? Anybody know how good this is for recording direct to PC?
just wonderin, despite of the amp modeling section...are those effects sounds exactly the same as the stand alone stomp boxes ? if so, why bother to buy like a 100+ bucks separate pedals while we can get everything in one multi effect ? i mean if you get to buy just 3 stomps separatly , you already blowing the price this multi cost..i just don't get it.. another explanation , the effects on this multi effect are just way behind in terms of sound quality..
Yea, what 'thebigsmuz' said. It wont be dailed in right. But that being said some ppl do prefer to use the other instruments pedals. Omar Rodriguez from The Mars Volta played with a bass wah wah for a long time. He said something about getting a larger spectrum and more low end out of it, if I remember right. But it was probably modded out alot anyway. Always try it in a music shop first just incase you dont like the sound.
We'll: of course it would work. But you'll get the raspy sound of a tube emulated digi solid state amo.
But. The true trick is to use this as a pedal unit in front of a brilliant clean channel tube amp. I use it with the clean all tube channel of my Fender Champ XD or with my Mesa Express 5:25. The pedal gives you all the pre-amp and eq color, overdrives and effects that run into a strong fat tube channel.
Dong so you have a pro sound for a poor mans price ... :-)
hey great video i use this unit for live shows and it sounds great the only thing i dint like was its wah sounds so i just hooked up my touch sensative Cry baby to it and then that allowed me to have a second pedal for the pitch shift while using my wah but as for what this can do its worth every cent i try the me-50 and that was just to much pre setting and i think im set fore a long time with pedals.
It would still work with bass, it just won't be dialed in to perfectly compliment bass. That being said, EQ can help with that. Another guy in my band uses the BOSS Bass OD pedal with his guitar. It's not like it'll be "OH NO! WRONG INSTRUMENT!" haha
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a doubt: can you adjust the delay time without having to tap on it? Like the giga delay? If you know tour song is 140 bpm can you just put it to 140 bpm? or the tap is the only option?
Why isn't there a test of this against the modern units? GT1000, Helix, Headrush.
ok thx for the input.. i'd like to see some sounds comparasion between the stomps and this though.. it'd be interesting and pretty objective i guess.. except if you already did that..
will this be good for playing metal like bullet for my valentine or megadeth? kinda lost in the maze of effectboards....
I really like the Line 6 Pod 2.0, which one do you prefer, the Line 6 Pod 2.0 or the Boss ME-70 Multi Effects Processor Gear?
It would still WORK with bass, it's just not designed for bass, EQ-wise.
Why do people ask would this be good for this style. Go out and try one
My friend had a me-50 and one think Ive always loved about it was that the distortion was dead quiet when you had it on and between playing. Even my boss overdrive stompbox seemed to hum or buzz when it was on.
hey guitar leeson how u goin. i bought this bout 3 moths ago n i still don tknow how to save patches
these review are so fake it sounds nothing like that
Im definitely gunna buy one of these but i wanna get a fender start first
Hi, I was wondering if and how you can use the delay when you are using the loops phraser because they are both under the same footswitch, can you create a loop and let it play then you can turn the knob to your desired delay settings ? or does it only work if you play a delay aong with the loops phraser? Thanks in advance.
I know its 2021,should i still buy this? Lol
I just got mine for 100$ and it's a keeper!
@19MoeZarella94 nahh i thought that at first as well lol but with this pedal you can get perfect AVA sounds
Can you have the output go straight to a pa system or mixing board??or can you go from the pedal straight to a speaker cab?or does it have to go to an amp??
@silentninjagr because boss sound better ...............
So is this superior to the Line 6 floor pod plus?
I really need to know! thanks.
p.s. Which has better distortion?
Hi, would you recommened this or the vox tonelab ex for a alternative/indie style thanks :)
Would the Visual Sound 1 Spot adapter power this pedal?
Hey guys, wich one should I get ME-70 or GT 100? Please reply
Would this be good for thrash metal?
@JakeSimMusic Oh and the Delays are great too.
I tried the ME-70 at a music store and it's absolutely phenomenal. It's everything you need in a box. The only complain I have is the lack of USB support which in today's standard, it's a no brainer. Hopefully, Boss will release an updated version of the ME-70 so that we can plug in straight to the computer.
this , a gt 10 or 100 or a line 6 hd ???
Why didn't you talk about the looper?
I think it's about time pedals come with y adapters
@drumsTJ where did u get yours?? please help, thanks!
would this work with a line 6 spider iv 15 watt amp?
@rickygoeree thanks:) now i just need some money....
What is the power supply and chords needed for this?
DID HE SAY- Fuck a tweed sound?????
Theres a separate delay option on the modulation footswitch.
@ridemaster101 Changing channels possibly?
Line 6 FireHawk or Boss ME 70?
@529ark 12 hours i think, depending on battery
I have Boss GT-100 and I think it's the best processor
QUESTION, If this is so great then why do people still buy individual pedals?
I feel because there's so much out there with incredibke sounds that isn't just BOSS, the BOSSME70 is amazing but I don't think anyone should limit themselves to just this.
how long will it run on batteries for ?
I just won one on Ebay for $152! Can't wait to try it with my Peavey Triumph 120 W tube amp. It should be a nice upgrade from my 10+ year old ME-33,as it was starting to go ,the tone would drop out while playing ,and random effects would just appear out of nowhere!
I just got one here in the UK for £35. It had a fault. But I fixed it for £9. Bargain.
Awesome score ! I really love mine ! Hey , I wish I could afford a whole row of custom analog pedals, but it has gotten so insane lately ,and there are so ,so many custom stomp boxes ,many going for $250 each , it is nuts !
no it's a guitar multiple effect pedal
He said:Like a tweed sound XDDDDDDDDDD
can you plug this into any amp
Hi. Can you please explain how i connect this ME70 to my Marshall VS100 amplifier so i can get the best sound out possible?
All the FX Loop, Send, etc is confusing and i do not have the knowledge on this stuff! pLease Help
You can use it just like a pedal. Guitar in and then out to the front input on your amp.
I use mine as a pedal as well, the the signal is ran from the guitar, to the BossME70, to my Valveking Tube Amp and onto the Peavey Speaker. Tone wise I use the Valveking for the power, distortion, and clean, and with the neat thing about BossME70, it has a preamp so you can mix in your Marshall with the Preamp on the ME70.
getting it this week...WOO WOO
does this have the freeze like the ME-25?
check out the me-50B by Boss.
Boss ME-70
what mussles! :D
Great video!
oooh yea he did
