We so look forward to seeing each episode of Piazza Talk. We spent three wonderful months in Lucca earlier this year and these stories keep us connected to this wonderful part of the world. Thank you Celia and Enzo for what you do, it was so lovely to meet you both briefly at the market back then. Grazie Mille 👏👏👏🙏
Thanks for another great video, we have seen the ‘parade’ twice before, but as always your history and information make it far more special - we are looking forward to Wednesday evening with much more appreciation. Thanks again, Paul and Wendy.
It is a very special time to be here and see the procession. We were here a few years ago and it was very emotional and beautiful. We're sad hat we have to leave now just before the 13th. We've watched the candles going up but we have to go as we are close to our 90 days that we're allowed to stay in Europe now!
So many beautiful churches in Italy. I remember going into one and I saw a statue of a nun. I didn't know who she was but I burst into tears and had to go and ask the man sitting in the doorway who this nun was. He said it is Saint Therese. It must be a past life connection and have since read up on Saint Therese. She is special person. Ciao and thank you 💜😊
With 100 churches in Lucca, full of art as well as in the villages, we are very lucky. Have you watched our video about the terracotta statue attributed to Leonardo, in a church in a village near Lucca ? if not this is the link. ua-cam.com/video/K41JbQ_QVP4/v-deo.html
Thank you for the wonderful descriptions of The Luminara. Is there any remembrance for Eugenio Viviani and Antonio Pellegrini who perished while preparing for the procession in 2017?
Isn't Lucca special all year 'round? And not just Lucca, but everywhere in the area? It's not Firenza, but that's what makes it so special! There's San Gimignano, and Castelfiorentino, and Pistoia, and so on. I left out Pisa for a reason, but most of the area is beautiful and relaxing and so enjoyable. As an American my impression is that life in Tuscany is a bit more relaxed, and the beauty of the land is more appreciated, although I could be wrong.
Yes, you are right Lucca and the area is very beautiful all year round but the Luminara is very special with the lights turned off and only the flickering candles lighting the street. The procession winds through the streets and the piazzas just as it has done so for over a thousand years.
God bless you both
Thank you, God bless you too.
Molto interessante.
Grazie

Thank you.
THANKS! I brought some friends from USA, and forwarded the video to them. You answered many questions that I couldn't.
Thank you, we are so happy that the video added to your evening. When we walk in the procession we always feel a big emotion.

We love the Luminara and often walk with our village but sadly tonight (13th) we can't be there because we're working. Brexit is negative for so many.

There is a shrine where the terrible accident happened and the Lucchesi never forget this tragedy.
