He is from Brazil and plays on a traditional Brazilian 7-string nylon (not metal) guitar and this music style is a brazilian samba. Yamandu is incredible, I'm happy to know that people coming from completely different countries and musical styles can enjoy Brazilian music played by a brilliant guitarist... long live the internet.🙌🙌🙌
Thats awesome thank you for the info I really appreciate it. The guitar is a beautiful piece of art. I thought they were nylon with the softness of the tones but the shine made them look metal, I wonder what gauges he uses? I've been playing around a lot with my own acoustic a lot more lately and went to get some new strings for it and they have plastic coated strings! I cant wait to check them out and see how they feel and sound!
@@TheKillogicEffect "Rapha" was Raphael Rabello search for him playing Desvairada - Garoto!
Truly he is the best of this style here in Brazil. Perhaps the best guitar player in our country of all styles.

Brazil has and has had countless outstanding guitarists, all of them with their own characteristics, like Yamandu Costa, we have also Fábio Lima, Baden Powell, Turíbio Santos, Guilhernano Reis, among others.
@@fernandocoelho1334 For me the 3 best brazilian guitarists are Yamandu Costa, Edson Lopes and Carlos Barbosa Lima
He once received a standing ovation by Paco de Lucia himself in a show Yamandu did in Brazil.
Thats awesome! He is an incredible guitarist, Im looking forward to learning more about him!
i can see why but i never heard that story
but hope it happend
this is a homage to Raphael Rabello one of the best traditional brazilian guitar style player / composer of all time that died prematurely in 1995 at 32 years age.
Dude! you've summoned the titan of the seven strings! Master Yamandu. This is pure Brazilian choro.
It is a samba to honour one our greatest guitar players, the late Raphael Rabello, that could very much play with that virtuosismo.
He plays a 7 string guitar with NYLON strings.
This is not Flamenco, this is a Samba.
Yamandu has improved a lot in the later years. His is an amazing player and a nice fellow (my bandmate makes maintenance in his guitars so I've met him a number of times).
He is really one of the greatest guitar players of all time. cheers from Brasil!
Ele é o nosso "Rei das Sete Cordas", imbatível.
Amigo, queres ver outra bela amostra da música (e ritmo) brasileiro?
Veja (youtube) "Neojiba-Tico Tico no Fubá"
Neojiba é uma orquestra juvenil da Bahia.
Um abraço.
Yamandu live alone sounds like 4 guitar players together.
I am from Spain and love Paco de Lucía. Yamandu is incredible like Paco was. I had not seen a seven string classic guitar. That magnificient instrument plus the playing of Yamandu are simply marvellous.
Absolutely incredible stuff!! I dont believe I have ever seen a seven string classical guitar in person. I was just at the guitar store close by and I bet they would have to special order one, I could be wrong though...
I am from Brazil and have Always loved Paco. And, naturally, Love Yamandu. As Paco also dos.
No onew can compares to Paco but Yamandu is really mind blowing!
His guitar was made by a Canadian luthier. Yamandu is from my state in southern Brazil.
I am looking forward to learning more about him for sure!!!
@@TheKillogicEffect Yamandu is not a human being, he's an E.T.
Bravo!!!! Yamandu!!!
Fun watching your reaction. This kind of stuff makes me feel OK about humanity.
The best, today, in my opinion! He is amazing! Pure Brazilian music! No flamenco. Nylon strings, I think!
Some incredible stuff for sure, I'm looking forward to hearing and learning more about him!
The desperate thing... You wanna pause to try to understand. But you get so focused and hypnotized... That you just let the song go on. And you notice that you're just an amateur. Thanks for your reaction Mr. Cheers from Brazil
Cheers! I am looking forward to hearing and learning more about him and his music!
Brazilian nylon both 7-string and 6-string guitar style is an amazing source of innovative and subtle tasted music. No wonder the guy went almost speachless. Research and hear more of what brazilian guitar masters are playing now and eventually you'll find words to describe it.
everyone smiles when listening to this song... some other songs we just cry as long as its played by Yamandu
Here in Brazil Yamandú is a legend. 🙂
What? Unfortunately 98% of Brazilians don't have any idea he exists, which is a shame.
Haha! Love your reaction the Master Yamandu. I get the same reaction, speechless. One of the Greatest Players in the World and the player who makes me the most emotional.
Thank you I appreciate that! I am enjoying learning about him, he is incredible more people need to know about him!
Yamandu Costas, Baden Powel, Rafael Rabello, Dilermando Reis, Paulinho Nogueira, Markus Kaiser, Fábio Lima, Robson Miguel. You can check any one of them and you won't regret it. Welcome to the Brazilian guitar world.
Wow thank you for the list I really appreciate it and I am looking forward to learning about not only Samba but all the incredible music and musicians Brazil has to offer. When I was in junior high school I did a report on Brazil and the teacher would let me get into all the music saying some crap like "Its outside the scope of what the report is suppose to be about" it made me mad because thats what I wanted to focus on, so I guess now I get to learn about it finally!!!!
Remember to Ulisses Rocha! Fabio Lima is his fan
Carlos Barbosa Lima
Thanks for this list, I love Yamandu Costa since I watched him for the first time! Glad to know another brazilian great guitar players!
Hi, you said "Samba pro Rapha" 100% correctly!
Summarizing the reaction: No words! haha Yes, this is Yamandu! 🇧🇷

The best react that saw to yamandu Costa. Genuine react, dud!!!
Thank you I am looking forward to learning more about him and his style as well as technique!
I'm a jazz? fusion/Everything player and I like also heavy metal. Music has no boundaries... When the heart is in It, there's no difference. Musicians should be closer in ALL styles.✌🏻
Absolutely! Very well said!
Hey man!! It was me who recommended Yamandu at a Paco´s video! thanks for the reaction. Take a look at "Choro loco" and "Interpreta Ritmo Colombiano" later... =)
Thank you very much I really enjoyed his playing and I'm looking forward to more!! Thank you for the suggestions I will check them out!
I still love Sarará, when he plays like his "gaucho" roots!
Greetings from Brazil!
Greetings!!
Yamandu is a amazing musician. He's a Brazil's proud...is a genious. I'm very happy because you meet his musical job now.
The expressions within the video just shows how amazing yamandu is. Literally every friend or person that knows something about music that I show something from him does the same expressions. Its like seeing and listening to something from another world
Jesus... hahaha. This is insane. Uauuuu
Absolutely! Cant wait to check out ore from him!
When Yamandu plays Pacco The Word is a perfect world
🎉🎉🎉 Yamandu is a brazilian gem 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Yamandú Costa is extraordinary! Alessandro Penezzi, Robson Miguel and Fabio Lima also play their instruments with excellence. I particularly like the way Fabio Lima plays the guitar!
Some of the greatest Brazilian guitarists were Dilermando Reis, Baden Powell and Aníbal Augusto Sardinha, but the greatest was Raphael Rabello.
Also
Obrigada! Fiquei emocionada. Um abraço do Brasil!
Cool
Very good
Very nice.
Yamandu, the Brasílian Mater of Finger Master Style. 👏👏👏👏
Genius!!!!!
Um samba maravilhoso!
Nice react! Congrats!!
Thank you I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to learning more about him as well as Brazils amazing music!!
This is not flamenco style, it is Brazilian style guitar playing that you seem to don't know.
The classical guitar in Brasil is called VIOLÃO.
Check out these guys: Alessandro Penezzi, Cainã Cavalcante, Raphael Rabello, all play with nails and nylon strings.
Honey for my ears
Uhuuuu!!!!
No relation to flamenco. Pure South American Brazil guitar! Beautiful as well.
Yeah I misspoke, they do have a lot of similarities but are two completely different things. I got so caught up in his playing I didnt even mention the seven strings and talk about Brazilian guitars and music the way I wanted to. I will be doing more videos about him for sure, so there will be plenty of time to talk about all that!
But does not flamenco and samba share some common Iberian roots?
@@rogeriopenna9014 Brazilian music has more in common with afro music and jazz than flamenco which in my opinion can sound sometimes more Arabic with its Phrygian mode. Foreigners confuse Spanish and Iberian music with flamenco. Flamenco music is a genre within Spanish music. Flamenco music is Spanish but not all Spanish music is flamenco. The muñeira is for instance is more related to Celtic music with its bagpipes. The Fado is Portuguese with its own specific plucked instruments. The jota and sardana are from northern east of Spain and use oboes and flutes and no guitar. Each region of Iberia has its own music. Flamenco is basically from andalucia (Southern Spain). And even within Andalucia thete are other genres like the Copla or Sevillanas which do not belong to the flamenco genre. I could write a book about it. So much to say 🤣
@@erich191 you're right. But they have something in common due to Spain but are not the same music.
There is a beautiful documentary made by Yamandu himself in Moscow, Russia, where he explores the roots of the 7 strings guitar . As for "Samba Pro Rapha" is a beautiful homenage from Yamandu to Raphael Rabello, the genius who joined in the 7 string guitar 3 rich legaciess: the classical music, the Brazilian popular music (Choro, Samba, MPB...) and the influence of Flamenco. Raphael was admired from Master Paco de Lucia, who defined him as "the greatest Brazilian guitar player". Unfortunately, Raphael left us too soon, at the age of 32.
❤
I will have to check that out! Thank you for the info I really appreciate it!!!
National treasure!
Yamamdu é o cara.
🤯
Blodie helll🔥
He plays with nylon strings.
O cara pegou logo o yamandu😊😊😊
RIP Yamandu Costa😥😥🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤💔💔❤❤
Yamandu Costa is alive. According to the search results, he was born on January 24, 1980, and is currently 44 years old. There is no information suggesting he is deceased
You mentioned Paco DeLucía, because you know he went to see a Yamandú Costa show and surrendered to his genius by giving him a standing ovation! If you are interested, look for the video, where a guitarist UA-camr shows this moment. I hope it has subtitles in Portuguese so you can enjoy it better. (#yamanducosta#guitar#pacodelucia).
Um salve dos BR... Yamandu é foda!!!
Yamandu consegue unir muita tecnica , melodia, harmonia, bom gosto, virtuosismo tudo muito bem dosado
my dude was mesmerized LOL and for a reason
Absolutely!!!
It makes for a very unique, brilliant sound!
Reaja a outro violonista brasileiro atual, Lucas Imbiriba. Grande violonista.
Thank you for the suggestion I really appreciate it, I will check them out!
The most beautiful thing is that there is no way to listen to Yamandu Costa's music and not be impressed and happy.
Looks like he is pretty awesome musician I will have to check him out!
Your smile at 2:00 ❤
Yamandu is a genius.

I am looking forward to hearing and learning more about him!
@@TheKillogicEffect he have a music channel here in ytb with his name Yamandu Costa 🙏🎇🌍🌎💙🫂🫂🎁📳🎶🍷✈️🥂👍🕊️🤍
@@TheKillogicEffect He's totally genius, free style, a Musical Boss the musical Ranker from this century.
He has that movement of up and down the scale of the guitar in the transverse picking up the 4 chord house the 7 chord House of note then he goes back quickly to pirmeira house that there in the transverse and to kill anyone is to genius that.
No one will reproduce that gesture will miss notes, melodies and rhythmic harmonies, it is a trap, that there and creativity will never be technical above the normal level of Musical execution on the guitar.
Haver you heard another Brazilian guitar players called Roberto Ricci?
No but I would love to check them out, is there anything you would suggest?
Por favor, não faça isso em casa 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Samba for Rapha is a tribute to the late great guitarist Raphael Rabello (Rafha).

I am Brasileiro react a Yamandu the Music Sarara..
Sir... Yamandu received a standing ovation, from Paco de Lucia... Nothing else to say, except that you need to check Raphael Rabelo
Such a pity getting to know Yamandu only at adult age lol
The dificult you have in explain what he's doing reminds me of the first time me and my friends saw him live about twenty years ago when he was younger and played in a even more furious and kind of "metal" way. we were all spechless when the concert ended and all we could say was bad words lol! There was so much going on at the samer time, our brains barely could process a combo of harmony, melody and rhitymn ate he speed of light in a nylon string guitar he just trhowed three more even more awsome at our ears. 😂😂😂
I didn't nkew Tchubaka fromm starwars used to do music reviews.
You pronounce Portuguese very well. Enjoy Yamandu’s playing!
Thank you! I am trying my hardest not to butcher it to bad!
My first reaction on this channel. Nice comments!
Try Lucas Inutilismo - "2023 em uma música"! He makes a medlay or pop music on metal version.. a very talented guy.

Great suggestion thank you I really appreciate it!
I was gonna say "wow the dude knows two chords" and then insanity ensued and I rest my case
Edit: "Sounds like he plays on all metal strings" is probably a way of saying that his tone is quite strong and metallic despite playing on nylon strings. And I will pretend that this gentleman can easily distinguish the two by both look and sound but that he was trying to prove a point of some sort. Also, it's an exceedingly rare 7 string nylon guitar.
A beautiful guitar being playing by an incredible person that knows his instrument intimately!!! I cant wait to see and hear more, some incredible stuff without a doubt!!!
I subscribed to him for sure, thanks for bringing this artist to my attention.@@TheKillogicEffect
