The 5 of us standing there will never forget that.

Kids played with metal lawn darts that could actually kill them. High schools had a "smoking lounge", for students. Doctors smoked cigarettes right INSIDE their offices. Toys were coated in lead paint. Parents didn't have to worry about being arrested for "child neglect", just because their parents let them play outside alone & unattended. Men used the Men's room & women used the lady's room, period. "Singers" didn't rely on "auto-tune", etc, & so on. TV stations "signed off" at around midnight-2am. It was a great time. People who didn't live in that era, don't really understand the true meaning of "Freedom & Liberty"
I had a spin welder! It was a toy welder! It used a heat gun to weld plastic and you could build a car with it. The welder plugged into the wall socket and it would burn you if mishandled. I think I was 8 when I got that. I am a child of the 70's and it was AWESOME! Summer vacations were time well spent. Tan with scabbed knees and elbows. Every house in the neighborhood had a mom home and she would give you a band-aid or kool-aid or both. Divorce went up 300 percent back then. I watched all the dads get kicked out. It was the start of what we have today.
