I love when Alex plays this mod because WW1 tactics are perfectly suited for Field Marshal Alex Haig.
Having been to Thessaloniki recently(quite a lovely city), that’s exactly what happened - the Entente landed troops there even though Greece wasn’t in the war yet (which had the effect of creating a political crisis there) because the Entente wanted to create a southern front to take pressure off Serbia.

I recently did a similar playthrough from the 1910 date as France, became a monarchy under Napoleon V. Held the lines until about 1917 when the germans started to qin some battles. Mind you, they had 1.5 million casualties and I had about 250k. Americans then came along and we won....yay

This comment might be ignored, but if you enjoy this WW1 mod then you'll probably enjoy the mod 'Rise of Russia'. It starts 1917 - 1918, with different points in late WW1 and the russian civil war. It's main selling point is the russian civil war, to play as the white army or red army and is really detailed. But you can also try to win WW1 as Germany in late 1917-1918 and is overall really fun

You could do a little min series when you play kaiserriech and play as every China and United China as every Chinese warlord try to pick different paths if you can you can use the wiki to see the paths in hoi4 kaiserriech
