    The Fryette Power Station® - a new amplifier attenuator and re-amplification solution, offering players intuitive and precise control over amplifier volume, distortion behavior and a wide range of highly refined tonal qualities previously unavailable from any single attenuating or re-amping product.
    Built on decades of experience producing the finest all-tube power amps available, the Power Station is a practical and highly functional tool that solves problems frequently encountered in live playing and recording environments. It beautifully accentuates the inherent qualities of any amplifier and allows your amplifier to breathe and dynamically respond to your playing technique the way a great guitar amp should. The Power Station is designed to be transparent, user friendly, reliable and ultra-responsive to a wide array of guitar amplifier and speaker types. It also integrates seamlessly with any combination of internal and external speaker configurations.
    The Power Station also excels as a power booster, something that no other attenuator can do. Just as you would connect a big amp to reduce output volume, the Power Station can also be used to boost the output of a small amplifier. Imagine taking your mini-amp or small vintage combo to a gig and having enough power to be heard without sacrificing feel and tonal quality. It is not only possible, but easy and fun!
    Finally, your Power Station functions as a versatile silent reactive load for direct recording by simply connecting the Balanced or Unbalanced Line out to your recording interface.

    Thanks Joe. This was the final piece to my GP/DI & PS-1 puzzle. Had been going direct from the GP/DI since the day it came out and using PS-1 for my Aether. Bought a PS-2A for the GP/DI because of the balanced out, but was running into issues. This was all it took. That and Steve said it would work a couple of months ago....Now using PS-2A with my Sound City ML50 so I can mic the cab and go direct.

      THK you of’ the video! : in order to run my axe FX3 into my brand new Fryette PS2 line in, which kind of jack cable shall I use : an unbalanced instrument cable like for guitars or a Balanced one (trs) (the axe FX3 provides only one kind of jack output, which is unbalanced, otherwise it has a balanced xlr output, but the PS2 line in is at a jack format). Many thanks in advance, the PS2 is awesome !!!!

    Thanks for the video! I just bought a PS-2A. I have a couple of questions, if you're so kind to help me.
    1. When I turn the PS-2A on I can hear the fan making a "starting" noise, and then then fan is quite loud.
    2. When my amp is off, and just the Fryette is on - I hear some background noise when I switch from bypass to operate.
    Are these things normal?
    Thanks a bunch!

    How can I take advantage of this when incorporating an amp switcher? I have a KHE 8 channel switcher and currently have an Ox Box in the attenuator loop for the KHE, but I have a PS-100 on order and planned to power my Synergy rack unit with it. Would I run the Synergy into the line-in on the Ps100 and the speaker out of the ps100 into one of the the 8 amp-inputs of the switcher?

      No need for a second PS. Assuming your pedal board is in front of the amp, send the PS Line Out to your DAW, use an IR plugin for the cab sound, and use your reverb and delay plug-ins to record in stereo.

    What is the best way to set levels? Amp>PS-2A, Line Out>Interface
    When I use the PS-2A in silent record mode, my amp sounds distorted, using either of the line outs. However, I'm not clipping the interface/DAW. I have to turn my amp down so low to clean it up that the signal is too low to record. Any suggestions?

    Quick question if anyone can help......if I take this cable connection set-up just as was done here, can I slightly modify the final part, (the LineOut, to the interface/DAW part). Instead of running into an Interface/DAW, can I substitute the Interface and run into a Two Notes Opus IR Cab Sim instead, and then plug headphones into the Opus for silent practice?
    My set up would be...
    Guitar--->kingsley maiden/constable preamps---->fryette PS-2A---->Two Notes Opus Ir cab sim--->Headphones coming from Opus

    • @djabthrash

  • @nmdpa3

    So in theory...say using a UAD Apollo with an AMP Sim in the Unison slot. Could I use the preamp of the sim, bypass the sim power section, and specify no cab , line out that signal to the PS100 line in, and follow the rest of your example? Ok not sure why I would do that other than to play around and see what an AMP sim sounds like using this technique. Some of the UDA plugins give you the ability to bypass the power section.

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  2 роки тому

      Yes, you can do that if you can defeat the cab and PS sims as you suggested.

      @@FryetteAmps I’ve re-read the manual and am still a bit confused. If I plug in to the amp in from my amp I’m hitting the reactive load and then if the unit is on the signal goes to its power section, if not I still get the load and can safely output the line signal. If I plug something into the line in it goes directly to the power section (unless the unit is turned off). Now if I have both the line in and the amp in signal how come the amp in signal does not get looped through the power section? Does the line in signal prevent the amp in signal (which still gets the load) from hitting the power section?

      You rarely have bone dry cleans in a final mix (and even during tracking), and even with slight reverb here you hear the impact of power amp level differences on the overall guitar tone just as well.
