Burmese pythons have an established permanent breeding population in South Florida and belong to the "new" apex predators of the Everglades today. Top predators like the american crocodiles and american alligators prey regularly on all kinds of reptiles, including pythons. An adult alligator will have little trouble to overpower, kill and eat any juvenile and in some cases even an adult constrictor. Nevertheless, a fully grown Burmese Python can reach over twenty feet in lengths and becomes extremely dangerous prey item for most crocodilians including the American Alligator. These large constrictors have not much to fear and will feed on most animals they come across (including alligators) when hungry. Holy cow, it's been a roller-coaster guys. Never thought I'd make it here in a billion years, I check this comment section regularly, and get filled with joy and smiles reading it. I am so much better now, although not perfect, and applying to med school so I can be there for people who were in my situation all those years ago. Surprisingly, this shows just how SOLID a Bermis Python's body is. Over 13 feet & 200 plus lbs of pure, freaking muscle. To take a bit force of 2000 lbs & still back down an alligator is dangerous & scary all together.

Definitely not 200lbs lol, maybe like the world records but not one 13ft long. I saw when they caught the record 18ft burm in the everglades and it wasn't quite 200lbs and it was much heavier than the last 18fter they caught. Like 6" longer but 50lbs more.

I've never seen anything like that in my life and as I'm watching some other wildlife videos this one comes across in a small clip but just watching this , This enormous Gator is locked in on this python but gives in hours later . The Python even reconsidered a continuation. Thank you, that was very interesting.
My only question is what is it that every gator does when in a fight especially in the water or eating some zebra is they immediately do the death roll. This gator seem to not be that hungry .

They only have to eat once a year so maybe it wasn’t hungry. They way they crush and consume giant snapping turtles whole like it’s nothing makes me think this guy just wanted to be annoying and prove a point.

The python didn't stat the fight after all, it is used to crocs from back home and probably knows they're more trouble than they're worth, on the other hand the alligators have nothing like an python naturally in their environment. It's used to viewing everything as prey.
Python was lucky it wasn't a saltwater crocodile.

The alligator was not hungry and found the python an annoyance. Consequently, after rebuffing the python's attacks, it went to find a hopefully less irritating area to chill. When it's hungry, it'll come back to the aggressive meal.
Lol, he got his eye popped. Hungry doesn't mean that it won't go all out, in the beginning I thought the snake died because he got bit in the head by a fcking gator but still survived that alone tells me why pythons are one of the strongest and top predators. (I am a lion fan though)

Both new they were out matched. One was not stronger and could overpower the other so they just gave up and whent to find smaller prey
