i agree 100% liu kang himself never would have wanted to be a god. however it was forced on to him with raiden losing his powers by fusing with liu kang. Liu Kang was the right choice having the memories of both versions of himself he saw what happened to the revenant version of himself and used those memories to help shape the new era.

yeah thats a good way to look at it alright, and technically mk 1 isnt really liu kang, more like an amalgam of three different beings. Liu is just one part of the titan.

I think you missed the point of the video the question was did Liu Kang deserved to be a god? not whether Liu Kang consented to it. That is the actual angle of the video. And I agree with you Raiden kind of forcing Liu kang to become a god to defeat Kronika. Liu Kang never wanted that role he was content with protecting earthrealm. Raiden must have realized after finding out what he would become in the future and after having his memories restored from the previous timelines that he wasn't fit to lead the new era.
I don’t like the idea of Liu kang being a God because what makes him special is that he’s the strongest mortal that protects earth realm. It makes him unique in a way and not lazy

He's the only one that makes sense becoming as strong as he does. I don't see how the rest of the roster manage to defeat kronica without Raiden transferring his power to them. Mk1 is just garbage plain and simple.
Hey I got an idea for a video you could do,like What if General Shao eventually ends up becoming the Shao kahn we always knew in the future as we saw in previous timelines and he tries to use Onaga(after reiko tames him) to push mileena out the outworld throne but it backfires with Onaga becoming Self aware and more dangerous and tries to take outworld for himself and forces Shao to be his general(which brings the story full circle mirroring the events of the old midway era timeline) and Shao has to eventually learn how to become a lot more smarter and stragetic over time in order to seek the opportunity to get rid of Onaga,he allies himself with goro to poison the dragon king like his mk Deception ending(which mirrors how He took down onaga originally)
*OMG MAN, YOU ACTUALLY MADE IT I DON’T BELIEVE IT* Anyway, honestly, I don’t think Liu Kang ever was *meant* to be a god. What I mean is that he has always come a long way in being Earthrealm’s champion and it’s defender, but I honestly think him being a god was cool at first, now it’s like it was just shoved in their just because they wanted to! If MK11 was ever written differently (not including the whole timeline and time traveling trope) then maybe it would have been a lot more better for everyone characters’ arcs (Liu Kang’s to be specific). So, again it was nice, but I don’t think he was meant to be a god.
Yeah I agree I think Liu Kang should have stayed a mortal it was cool when it happened but I think Raiden should have kept his powers and Liu Kang returns to being the chosen one in the new era.
I've studied his power level and came to the conclusion that he's a low - mid tier omniversal being. I love Liu Kang, and to see that he became some bad a33 character that can go toe to toe with other characters like Goku or Beerus REALLY MAKES ME HAPPY!!!....So yes, HE DID. Plus, he generally deserves it because of how much he's done for the realm and honestly, the world itself. He's the Chosen One..that title fits with him entering God hood.

To be honest I say liu deserves it but I wish mortal Kombat games just focus on liu timeline only with mortal Kombat storyline without the multiverse thing. However I wish the story reveal of mortal Kombat explain why kronkita titans exist like maybe liu learns why kronkita was getting frustrated with Raiden and him like mabey he witnessed a bigger threat that lurking behind the scenes and he along with Gears tried alter new timeline but it backfired with bigger threat not titan shang somehow manipulating liu timeline but instead having other titans the story will be similar to original with shao Khan slowly transformers into a god learning magic slowly corruption him kinda like shao was during previous timeline. Liu realized that if he continues to use hourglass it will drive him mad because the threat is slowly trying weaken liu but liu use his wisdom to solve the issue.
I think the writing of mk1 can be bad throughout the story, not to say it's all bad. There are parts I liked within both stories. While I think liu kang deserved to be a god not a fan him staying as a god I wish raiden kept his powers I mean there's so many routes you can take in terns of stories you just need better writers lol

Now forgive me but Kung Lao being a god need to slowly work on his character before he earning his God powers by learning from his ancestors the Great Kung Lao wisdom, knowledge, Critical thinking skills and how his ancestors apply these skills to solve complex problems and strategies that he will need to learn. Also he will learn these skills from his best friend Raiden on how to deal with threats and problems ably these skills to defeat these threats.This is where Kung Lao Start to master his ego and learn from his ancestors the Great Kung laos wisdom, humble , and knowledge on to protect and serving Earthrealm. While Geras with Liu Kang Titan powers is monitoring other timelines to keep other titans at bay. Through Geras will sometimes visit Kung Lao and Raiden to check on the progress of how Liu Kang vision his Timeline and seeing how Raiden along with Kung Lao made progress of achievement and accomplishments of getting to what Liu Kang designs the timeline he originally designed.However please note Raiden and Kung Lao in this timeline will not rely on or call on the Elders Gods as much to solve complex situation since during Liu Kang times when he was alive Liu Kang educate them not to rely on others to complete their duties to protect his Timeline Earthrealm this is where we see Liu Kang throughs during a flashback scene of Mk9 storyline when Raiden and Liu Kang try to request the Elders Gods of previous timeline to stop Shao Khan invade Earthrealm. Liu Kang learns from his Raiden mistakes and spread this knowledge and wisdom to Raiden and Kung lao who will replace him as protector of Earthrealm in his timeline. it made all the sense in the world for me why he never interacted with the new timeline's Kitana. He still loves Kitana, but as his new role as this timeline's protector, knows that he and this new Kitana can never be, thus he must disconnect himself from her or he risk compromising his role due to his love for her. He can interact with Titan Kitana because not only is his timeline separate from hers, but she too retains her memory of him in their past life, so they can continue to share their continued bond with another until the current circumstances have wrapped up. This new Kitana has no memory of him other than the memories he created for her in this new timeline, which would be hard on him to deal with should he interact with her. The woman he loved is no more in this new timeline, and to be reminded of that would cause him emotional pain and could throw him off his game as Earthrealm's protector. This in my opinion is also why Hanzo and Harumi aren't together in this timeline. Liu knows that Hanzo and Harumi's romance only ends in tragedy, thus the best way to avoid that in this new timeline is to put Harumi with Kuai Liang while Hanzo is a teenager to help avoid that potential connection with her. Only thing that remains to be seen is if Liu inadvertently creates a connection between Hanzo and Harumi in this timeline anyway, only this time in a mother/son type of bond rather than husband/wife, while also replacing Hanzo's past bond with his son by having either Kuai Liang and/or Tomas in a fatherly bond with him, thus having their deaths still mold Hanzo into the vengeful man he becomes in other timelines
i understand that but he constantly slips up with other characters who he barely knows but doesnt do that with someone like kitana? the hanzo and harume doesnt make sense because the shirai ryu are mortal enemies with the lin kuei long before bi han and hanzo. in this new era they would have not had beef because the lin kuei were no longer assassins which would have changed their history they might have even become allies.
Reading everything before replying Actually Raiden never was a leader and he wasn't a bad leader either; 1. Raiden in Mortal Kombat 1 (1992) was literally a chaotic neutral antihero that wanted to prove the might of his godhood but since the original script written him as the "mentor leader" then he was corrected from Mortal Kombat 2 and on but tecnically due to the weirdest and uningnorable retcons the whole Mortal Kombat 2 is a sequel but even a "pseudo soft reboot"; Goro already mentionated the Outworld in Mortal Kombat 1 Comic Book and even his family but the plot of Mortal Kombat 1 was only; Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Kano and Sub Zero were humans competing for their own goals, Scorpion was a human but got resurrected for having a revenge towards Sub Zero and finally Shang Tsung a human mage with two Outworld persons that are Goro and the secret Reptile 2. Raiden got corrupted in Deception but if you think that he was a bad leader in the Midway Sagas you are really more than a bit of just one wrong Dude as he was always literally the first that guided the group from 1-4 and even forgiving Bi Han in Mythologies of Sub Zero with ignoring his naiviety mistakes, in Deadly Alliance he told yelling frustrations at the elder gods and protected Earthrealm alongside the group and in Deception he literally sacrificated himself so if even after all of those defenses purposes Raiden would be considerate as a bad leader? 3. Raiden in MK9 was literally someone that given advices at the others but the others refuses to listen at him; Kung Lao was driven by his "Vegeta Pride" and got eliminated easly, Scorpion was fooled by revenge and can't even maintain the possible promise, Cyrax was listening at him without talking at him but his arc was completley useless except for eliminating Johnny Cage from the tournament, he saved Smoke but illogically Kuai Liang and Smoke made the mistake about dividing theirselfs while they were in Outworld but still escaping from Cyrax and Sektor, Kitana did all herself, Shao Khan was a random bastard at killing Kung Lao from the back of the neck and for concluding all of this; the scene of Cindel was a random plot armor because the others characters weren't weak at all but of course Raiden could have consulted the elder gods by himself instead of taking away Liu Kang who never spoken in the meeting at all and Raiden in this point of the story started to be in the wrong for his obssessed in religion and in trying to read the destiny and changing it instead of listening at Liu Kang who would have provided that everyone can make his own destiny without being written in a sort of smoking headed vision paper at all 4. Dark Raiden after MK10 was just a wasted potential character Overreal I would even add the fact that Liu Kang in MK9 have a mix of personality that literally is his MK2 self and his MK 1995 Movie self because just like both of versions he is still devoted in saving the Earthrealm but he tends to be more himself aloof training and tending to seek revenge towards his beloved ones as already showed regarding Kung Lao, Raiden and Kitana for examples so in the end Liu Kang just like Scorpion, Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Kabal, Kenshi Takahashi and Johnny Cage is undoubtley one of the most valid characters to be a potential protagonist of a mainline or spin off story arc but I guess Liu Kang as a god is pretty much valid just like Raiden with the only difference that Liu Kang kept is young age and allows more freedom while Raiden was more serious in keeping the groups as sons and don't worry as I don't think that this is bad but I just wanted to add clearifications but regarding the question as I already said before Liu Kang is a valid choice for godhood but he is different to Raiden only because Liu Kang allows more freedom while Raiden is more overprotective as a father for their sons and yet that comparison isn't fair at all since Raiden is a god class status while Liu Kang is a keeper of timer class status which is very different but the only one note is that right now Liu Kang always beats every villain in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) and Scorpion is always centric in the first three movies of Mortal Kombat Legends yet I think that even if those decisions are pretty much shallowing the others I think that are always better than get and throw protagonists such as Shujinko, Taven, Cassie Cage and Cole Young that are very forgettable after all so I would rather watching a classic Mortal Kombat narrative with charismatic protagonists and leader mentors whoever are Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Scorpion, Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Kabal, Kenshi Takahashi and Johnny Cage instead of a random guy that would be destinated to have no depths, standouts or memorabilities after all so thanks for reading see you - A Smart Guy

Ok raiden was never a anti hero in the original mortal kombat he was a god that got invited by shang tsung to compete in his tournament in fact his ending resulted in the destruction of earthrealm so i dont know what your talking about there. In the comics they changed this making him lead the forces of light which came out after the game so that is infact untrue. 2.) from mk2 to mk deadly alliance he was a great leader. Deception and Armageddon he was a terrible leader. when raiden reformed after taking his own life he changed raiden literally kills shujinko in his own ending how is that what a leader of light does? and in armegeddon konquest he even alligns with shinnok to safe guard earthrealm. but the bigger issue is he enslaved liu kangs zombified body and made him raidens enforcer. again how is that being a good leader in the midway era? 3.) yes raiden was giving advice at first to scorpion ,cyrax, and smoke that part i do agree with. but he became obsessed with changing the future which put raiden and liu kang at odds after they get to the Kolosseum. liu mocks raiden with the im not he must win which led raiden to choosing kung laos whos arrogance led to his death because he let his guard down which shao kahn quickly disposes of him because of it. Raidens choices from the Kolosseum forward is where his mistakes started costing earthrealm taking liu kang with him to meet the eldergods leaving earthrealms warriors to deal with sindel by themselves. even after they returned and he lost almost every one of his champions he plunged to the netherealm to allign with quan chi which caused an even bigger rift between him and liu kang. which was a huge mistake he should have stayed with liu kang and helped sonya and johnny cage and saved who he could. instead he goes to quan chi because he becomes desperate. after returning empty handed he and liu ended up fighting leading to liu kangs death. ultimately his obsession led to so many deaths in mk9 if he had a mind to listen to liu kang all that might have been averted. he achieved his goak averting the future to armegeddon but at the cost of almost every earthrealm champion. 4.) i completely agree with corrupt raiden being wasted as he is written off almost immediately in mk11. would have been nice if he could have been somehow cleansed instead of just being replaced by his younger self. and I would much rather have the traditional story of mortal kombat they could have explored the other realms rather then making this story of Liu kang staying a god. they showed in aftermath that they could go to the past they could have just had Liu go to the past and defeat kronika before she resets the timeline. Would have been better then the titan centric game we have now. the writing is hurting mortal kombat as you had all that khaos happen in mk9 to destroy shao khan just to bring him back 2 games later and i want to make something clear raiden is one of my favorite characters but I think he's made some truly bad choices in both timelines that led to some terrible consequences for his champions.

Scorpion is angry at the elder gods's toxicities on how badly they treaten him and his clan and Scorpion claimed revenge at the elder gods but why he is sided on Quan Chi that would be a big retcon but even the true neutrals Kenshi Takahashi and Nitara were only sided with the pure goods and the pure evil respectivley so yes here I follow you but is just Armaggeddon that is full of incoerence but even Liu Kang as zombie that got angry at Raiden for a shaolin massacre but Liu Kang as a zombie is still sided with him in the opening so in this whole of point about Armaggeddon retcons feel free to correct Me 3.) Honestly yes because I don't even know how in the holy bibble of coerence Raiden would even try to think an alliance with the Netherrealm even after he was already aware at the fact that Quan Chi manipulated Scorpion and was a snake spy towards the Outworlders in already being sided on them for fooling them after Shao Khan would have died 4.) The original/heroic Sindel, Ermac, Cyrax, Sektor/Triborg, Smoke, Fera Tor, Tanya, Shinnok, Quan Chi, Reiko, Takada, Kung Jin, Tremor, Bo'Rai'Cho, Li Mei, Sarena, Human Bi-Han, Stryker, Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, Moloch, Drahmin, Blaze, Taven, Dagon, Onaga, Shujinko, Kira, Kobra, Darris, Dairou, Hotaru, Ashrah, Mavado, Tsu Hao, Nitara, Mokap, Jarek, Kai, Meat, Chameleon and Khameleon? There was an ENTIRE BACK CATALOG of Kharacters Netherrealm Studios could have done al MK11 DLC and make it eventually the "Everybody's here!" game. But they wasted slots on Special Guests and killed support for it before we could get to that point! Yes I'm still bitter! Cyrax and Sektor were on the disk as NPC's and only needed a little bit to be playable! Shujinko, Chameleon and Khameleon would have been easy since they use the moves of other kharacters!

Probably the only NRS era plot point I could behind. But then they completely ruined it by making every character a titan for their own timelines. Which to me, made the impact of Liu Kang becoming a God feel meaningless.
What makes you think they would make a good god? I think mk11 hanzo could actually make a great god after everything he went through and how far he changed from mk9 ccould make one but scorpion within could lead him down the same path as raiden becoming corrupt
I mean, yeah.. as a character, it worked perfectly for him. But the hack writers couldn't think of anything creative to capitalize on said moment. They just made him petty & dumb. Which, even that could've led to some deep & meaningful character development, but again.. they're hacks stuck on repeat, lol. & when they're not infinitely rebooting things, they're copying the worst parts of the MCU.

I don't think he's a bad god the writing for mk1 is just horrible. as far as the deserving i disagree liu kang throughout his life did everything to protect earthrealm even in death. i agree 100% liu kang himself never would have wanted to be a god. however it was forced on to him with raiden losing his powers by fusing with liu kang. Liu Kang was the right choice having the memories of both versions of himself he saw what happened to the revenant version of himself and used those memories to help shape the new era.

I think you missed the point of the video the question was did Liu Kang deserved to be a god? not whether Liu Kang consented to it. That is the actual angle of the video. And I agree with you Raiden kind of forcing Liu kang to become a god to defeat Kronika. Liu Kang never wanted that role he was content with protecting earthrealm. Raiden must have realized after finding out what he would become in the future and after having his memories restored from the previous timelines that he wasn't fit to lead the new era.

Hey I got an idea for a video you could do,like What if General Shao eventually ends up becoming the Shao kahn we always knew in the future as we saw in previous timelines and he tries to use Onaga(after reiko tames him) to push mileena out the outworld throne but it backfires with Onaga becoming Self aware and more dangerous and tries to take outworld for himself and forces Shao to be his general(which brings the story full circle mirroring the events of the old midway era timeline) and Shao has to eventually learn how to become a lot more smarter and stragetic over time in order to seek the opportunity to get rid of Onaga,he allies himself with goro to poison the dragon king like his mk Deception ending(which mirrors how He took down onaga originally)

What I mean is that he has always come a long way in being Earthrealm’s champion and it’s defender, but I honestly think him being a god was cool at first, now it’s like it was just shoved in their just because they wanted to! If MK11 was ever written differently (not including the whole timeline and time traveling trope) then maybe it would have been a lot more better for everyone characters’ arcs (Liu Kang’s to be specific). So, again it was nice, but I don’t think he was meant to be a god.

I've studied his power level and came to the conclusion that he's a low - mid tier omniversal being. I love Liu Kang, and to see that he became some bad a33 character that can go toe to toe with other characters like Goku or Beerus REALLY MAKES ME HAPPY!!!....So yes, HE DID. Plus, he generally deserves it because of how much he's done for the realm and honestly, the world itself. He's the Chosen One..that title fits with him entering God hood.

I think the writing of mk1 can be bad throughout the story, not to say it's all bad. There are parts I liked within both stories. While I think liu kang deserved to be a god not a fan him staying as a god I wish raiden kept his powers I mean there's so many routes you can take in terns of stories you just need better writers lol

Now forgive me but Kung Lao being a god need to slowly work on his character before he earning his God powers by learning from his ancestors the Great Kung Lao wisdom, knowledge, Critical thinking skills and how his ancestors apply these skills to solve complex problems and strategies that he will need to learn. Also he will learn these skills from his best friend Raiden on how to deal with threats and problems ably these skills to defeat these threats.This is where Kung Lao Start to master his ego and learn from his ancestors the Great Kung laos wisdom, humble , and knowledge on to protect and serving Earthrealm. While Geras with Liu Kang Titan powers is monitoring other timelines to keep other titans at bay. Through Geras will sometimes visit Kung Lao and Raiden to check on the progress of how Liu Kang vision his Timeline and seeing how Raiden along with Kung Lao made progress of achievement and accomplishments of getting to what Liu Kang designs the timeline he originally designed.However please note Raiden and Kung Lao in this timeline will not rely on or call on the Elders Gods as much to solve complex situation since during Liu Kang times when he was alive Liu Kang educate them not to rely on others to complete their duties to protect his Timeline Earthrealm this is where we see Liu Kang throughs during a flashback scene of Mk9 storyline when Raiden and Liu Kang try to request the Elders Gods of previous timeline to stop Shao Khan invade Earthrealm. Liu Kang learns from his Raiden mistakes and spread this knowledge and wisdom to Raiden and Kung lao who will replace him as protector of Earthrealm in his timeline. This is where Kung Lao and Raiden took a step further by slowly putting their feet into other shoes to see what wise and Ethical decisions will solve complex problems with Geras watching from unknown void where he sitting in his chair monitoring other timelines he will provide advice of wisdom to Raiden and Kung lao to solve the issues through Geras will not be able see what is coming just to keep Geras from being too op the Hourglass will be unpredictable that even Geras with his Titan powers will not be able to solve every problem but just try his best to manage the problem from his chair through it will be difficult because Geras will need focused his attention of other timelines to keep the storyline for viewers more interesting and engaging with the story and keep the whole multiverse story at bay.

And Kung lao will God of Wind and his personality will be similar to Fujin from previous timelines however he still be Kung Lao.
it made all the sense in the world for me why he never interacted with the new timeline's Kitana. He still loves Kitana, but as his new role as this timeline's protector, knows that he and this new Kitana can never be, thus he must disconnect himself from her or he risk compromising his role due to his love for her. He can interact with Titan Kitana because not only is his timeline separate from hers, but she too retains her memory of him in their past life, so they can continue to share their continued bond with another until the current circumstances have wrapped up. This new Kitana has no memory of him other than the memories he created for her in this new timeline, which would be hard on him to deal with should he interact with her. The woman he loved is no more in this new timeline, and to be reminded of that would cause him emotional pain and could throw him off his game as Earthrealm's protector. This in my opinion is also why Hanzo and Harumi aren't together in this timeline. Liu knows that Hanzo and Harumi's romance only ends in tragedy, thus the best way to avoid that in this new timeline is to put Harumi with Kuai Liang while Hanzo is a teenager to help avoid that potential connection with her. Only thing that remains to be seen is if Liu inadvertently creates a connection between Hanzo and Harumi in this timeline anyway, only this time in a mother/son type of bond rather than husband/wife, while also replacing Hanzo's past bond with his son by having either Kuai Liang and/or Tomas in a fatherly bond with him, thus having their deaths still mold Hanzo into the vengeful man he becomes in other timelines
i understand that but he constantly slips up with other characters who he barely knows but doesnt do that with someone like kitana? the hanzo and harume doesnt make sense because the shirai ryu are mortal enemies with the lin kuei long before bi han and hanzo. in this new era they would have not had beef because the lin kuei were no longer assassins which would have changed their history they might have even become allies.

Actually Raiden never was a leader and he wasn't a bad leader either;
1. Raiden in Mortal Kombat 1 (1992) was literally a chaotic neutral antihero that wanted to prove the might of his godhood but since the original script written him as the "mentor leader" then he was corrected from Mortal Kombat 2 and on but tecnically due to the weirdest and uningnorable retcons the whole Mortal Kombat 2 is a sequel but even a "pseudo soft reboot"; Goro already mentionated the Outworld in Mortal Kombat 1 Comic Book and even his family but the plot of Mortal Kombat 1 was only; Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Kano and Sub Zero were humans competing for their own goals, Scorpion was a human but got resurrected for having a revenge towards Sub Zero and finally Shang Tsung a human mage with two Outworld persons that are Goro and the secret Reptile
2. Raiden got corrupted in Deception but if you think that he was a bad leader in the Midway Sagas you are really more than a bit of just one wrong Dude as he was always literally the first that guided the group from 1-4 and even forgiving Bi Han in Mythologies of Sub Zero with ignoring his naiviety mistakes, in Deadly Alliance he told yelling frustrations at the elder gods and protected Earthrealm alongside the group and in Deception he literally sacrificated himself so if even after all of those defenses purposes Raiden would be considerate as a bad leader?
3. Raiden in MK9 was literally someone that given advices at the others but the others refuses to listen at him; Kung Lao was driven by his "Vegeta Pride" and got eliminated easly, Scorpion was fooled by revenge and can't even maintain the possible promise, Cyrax was listening at him without talking at him but his arc was completley useless except for eliminating Johnny Cage from the tournament, he saved Smoke but illogically Kuai Liang and Smoke made the mistake about dividing theirselfs while they were in Outworld but still escaping from Cyrax and Sektor, Kitana did all herself, Shao Khan was a random bastard at killing Kung Lao from the back of the neck and for concluding all of this; the scene of Cindel was a random plot armor because the others characters weren't weak at all but of course Raiden could have consulted the elder gods by himself instead of taking away Liu Kang who never spoken in the meeting at all and Raiden in this point of the story started to be in the wrong for his obssessed in religion and in trying to read the destiny and changing it instead of listening at Liu Kang who would have provided that everyone can make his own destiny without being written in a sort of smoking headed vision paper at all
4. Dark Raiden after MK10 was just a wasted potential character
Overreal I would even add the fact that Liu Kang in MK9 have a mix of personality that literally is his MK2 self and his MK 1995 Movie self because just like both of versions he is still devoted in saving the Earthrealm but he tends to be more himself aloof training and tending to seek revenge towards his beloved ones as already showed regarding Kung Lao, Raiden and Kitana for examples so in the end Liu Kang just like Scorpion, Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Kabal, Kenshi Takahashi and Johnny Cage is undoubtley one of the most valid characters to be a potential protagonist of a mainline or spin off story arc but I guess Liu Kang as a god is pretty much valid just like Raiden with the only difference that Liu Kang kept is young age and allows more freedom while Raiden was more serious in keeping the groups as sons and don't worry as I don't think that this is bad but I just wanted to add clearifications but regarding the question as I already said before Liu Kang is a valid choice for godhood but he is different to Raiden only because Liu Kang allows more freedom while Raiden is more overprotective as a father for their sons and yet that comparison isn't fair at all since Raiden is a god class status while Liu Kang is a keeper of timer class status which is very different but the only one note is that right now Liu Kang always beats every villain in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) and Scorpion is always centric in the first three movies of Mortal Kombat Legends yet I think that even if those decisions are pretty much shallowing the others I think that are always better than get and throw protagonists such as Shujinko, Taven, Cassie Cage and Cole Young that are very forgettable after all so I would rather watching a classic Mortal Kombat narrative with charismatic protagonists and leader mentors whoever are Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Scorpion, Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Kabal, Kenshi Takahashi and Johnny Cage instead of a random guy that would be destinated to have no depths, standouts or memorabilities after all so thanks for reading see you

Ok raiden was never a anti hero in the original mortal kombat he was a god that got invited by shang tsung to compete in his tournament in fact his ending resulted in the destruction of earthrealm so i dont know what your talking about there. In the comics they changed this making him lead the forces of light which came out after the game so that is infact untrue.
2.) from mk2 to mk deadly alliance he was a great leader. Deception and Armageddon he was a terrible leader. when raiden reformed after taking his own life he changed raiden literally kills shujinko in his own ending how is that what a leader of light does? and in armegeddon konquest he even alligns with shinnok to safe guard earthrealm. but the bigger issue is he enslaved liu kangs zombified body and made him raidens enforcer. again how is that being a good leader in the midway era?
3.) yes raiden was giving advice at first to scorpion ,cyrax, and smoke that part i do agree with. but he became obsessed with changing the future which put raiden and liu kang at odds after they get to the Kolosseum. liu mocks raiden with the im not he must win which led raiden to choosing kung laos whos arrogance led to his death because he let his guard down which shao kahn quickly disposes of him because of it. Raidens choices from the Kolosseum forward is where his mistakes started costing earthrealm taking liu kang with him to meet the eldergods leaving earthrealms warriors to deal with sindel by themselves. even after they returned and he lost almost every one of his champions he plunged to the netherealm to allign with quan chi which caused an even bigger rift between him and liu kang. which was a huge mistake he should have stayed with liu kang and helped sonya and johnny cage and saved who he could. instead he goes to quan chi because he becomes desperate. after returning empty handed he and liu ended up fighting leading to liu kangs death. ultimately his obsession led to so many deaths in mk9 if he had a mind to listen to liu kang all that might have been averted. he achieved his goak averting the future to armegeddon but at the cost of almost every earthrealm champion.
4.) i completely agree with corrupt raiden being wasted as he is written off almost immediately in mk11. would have been nice if he could have been somehow cleansed instead of just being replaced by his younger self. and I would much rather have the traditional story of mortal kombat they could have explored the other realms rather then making this story of Liu kang staying a god. they showed in aftermath that they could go to the past they could have just had Liu go to the past and defeat kronika before she resets the timeline. Would have been better then the titan centric game we have now. the writing is hurting mortal kombat as you had all that khaos happen in mk9 to destroy shao khan just to bring him back 2 games later and i want to make something clear raiden is one of my favorite characters but I think he's made some truly bad choices in both timelines that led to some terrible consequences for his champions.

Scorpion is angry at the elder gods's toxicities on how badly they treaten him and his clan and Scorpion claimed revenge at the elder gods but why he is sided on Quan Chi that would be a big retcon but even the true neutrals Kenshi Takahashi and Nitara were only sided with the pure goods and the pure evil respectivley so yes here I follow you but is just Armaggeddon that is full of incoerence but even Liu Kang as zombie that got angry at Raiden for a shaolin massacre but Liu Kang as a zombie is still sided with him in the opening so in this whole of point about Armaggeddon retcons feel free to correct Me

Honestly yes because I don't even know how in the holy bibble of coerence Raiden would even try to think an alliance with the Netherrealm even after he was already aware at the fact that Quan Chi manipulated Scorpion and was a snake spy towards the Outworlders in already being sided on them for fooling them after Shao Khan would have died

Yes and actually I will still think that Liu Kang and Raiden as they were assigned in two differents god classes status they shouldn't be compared; a keeper of time and a god that almost became an elder god for a once also yet again Liu Kang is more outgoing as a young age person and doing more freedom with his own students while Raiden is more elder and with his students he just tried to be as a father with his sons overreal of this Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Scorpion, Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Kabal, Kenshi Takahashi and Johnny Cage are all memorable, deepings, standouts, recognazable and charismatic characters and their own ways but Liu Kang should deserve to be a "young god type" only because he never was corrupted and even the times he was thinking about revenge towards his beloved ones such as Kung Lao, Raiden and Kitana always remained pure and not obssessed but I think that he still should keep his young age way of acting only because he is still defining himself as a person that have more to learning from the life even if he is a god so Liu Kang on this way is just like Ryu Hoshi and Sonic the Hedgehog an aloof, mysterious, stoic, brooding and introvert character that still recognize the fact that he isn't perfect and he will always help the people who need to when his destiny cross their paths as well so thanks again for the corrections with subscribe and like even from Me keep it up Your work Dude

There was an ENTIRE BACK CATALOG of Kharacters Netherrealm Studios could have done al MK11 DLC and make it eventually the "Everybody's here!" game. But they wasted slots on Special Guests and killed support for it before we could get to that point!
Yes I'm still bitter! Cyrax and Sektor were on the disk as NPC's and only needed a little bit to be playable! Shujinko, Chameleon and Khameleon would have been easy since they use the moves of other kharacters!

you are right he helped free onaga. reptile became his vessel when he was searching for nitara.

Probably the only NRS era plot point I could behind. But then they completely ruined it by making every character a titan for their own timelines. Which to me, made the impact of Liu Kang becoming a God feel meaningless.

What makes you think they would make a good god? I think mk11 hanzo could actually make a great god after everything he went through and how far he changed from mk9 ccould make one but scorpion within could lead him down the same path as raiden becoming corrupt

I’m pretty sure the story depict that we are simply looking at his story. Deserve has nothing to do with him being a god. Kitana is also shown to be a god in another timeline, do we ask if she should be a god?
@mrdude88 sub timelines are unimportant to the main timeline someone asked if he deserved it so I gave reasons why it could be viewed as he deserved it. My own personal feelings I would have rather him stay a mortal

Liu kang is horrible at being a god. He didnt even deserve the power. He said he remade the realms before but they were not up to parr .
liu kang only made the realms this one timeline geras even said it. I don't think he's a bad god the writing for mk1 is just horrible. as far as the deserving i disagree liu kang throughout his life did everything to protect earthrealm even in death. When raiden died he became corrupted which made little sense.
