I know its Winter and the students are probably mostly gone from Santa Barbara,
But its a far cry from the 1970's when I lived in Santa Barbara.
Back then the streets were full of human beings. Middle class human beings.
Santa Barbara was alive with
Young Boomers and FAMILIES, LOCALS AND TOURISTS.
Its still beautiful in Santa Barbara
just strangely
Empty and devoid of human activities
And more younger human beings.
Kinda sad.
What 1.6 middle class birth rates and inflated
Real Estate prices have done in my old home town.
I can tell when and where it is shot because I live in Santa Barbara, too. It's early mid-morning in late December. The stores downtown don't open til 10am, and THEN it gets busy.
☝️🤡,, be aware., Locals "NEVER" come here, it's strictly 100% tourists. That laid back California feels you get,, is just the tourists walking around. A California resident is working 3 jobs, barely getting by and doesn't have free time. I have lived in California 👍.. it's beautiful ❤️, I LOVE IT, the weather is magical but you need to be rich to get by here.. DO NOT come here poor looking to get rich, it will chew you up in short order and spit you out. Prostitution and Drugs is EVERYWHERE.. always has been but more so now because the cost of living is so high. Would I move back there now? HELL YES.. but I lack the money. If possible fly into southern CALIFORNIA,, rent a NICE car and drive the coast road north. DO NOT just sit in the car,, stop for a few days now and then, walk, go to the local hot spots, walk the beach ⛱️.. if possible make the coastal trip last 3 weeks or more.. ITS MAGICAL
