He was taught to aim at the front sight-post, not the target, as most civilians are, so perfect vision is not nearly as important as one might think.

I thought it was neat seeing how they did it. I've had my eyes done too. But I couldn't see how they did it. I understand what Mere was going through. Happy that everything turned out well.
A Veterinarian has way more education than most medical doctors as their patients are multiple species. A veterinarian’s patients can’t communicate as well as humans can with their Doctor. Many veterinarians have multiple specialties, not just one like most MD’s. Veterinarians have studied just as hard as an MD to become highly qualified surgeons as an ophthalmologist, neurologist, oncologist, plastic surgeon, nephrologist, orthopedist, dermatologist, etc, but with multiple species.

Yup, Definately need some MERE BEARS!
Companions for anyone that could use a hug, or some one to hug..
Big, or little, animal at the vet surgery, or Demolitia kids going through rough times..
We need 3 kinds of official, Bunker Branding, 'Mere Bears'.
Some that are like Malamutes, some boxers, like Dozer..
And some like Remi..
With cute little collars that advertise your Vet clinic..
Like all the stickers that seem to have appeared around the mansion lately..
If you don't overprice them..($US prices are nearly doubled, for most of us poor souls elsewhere!) They will sell like HOTCAKES!
And, Uh..maybe not just to kids & cute fluffy animals in a Vet's Clinic either..
Just sayin..
Edit: Maybe Mere can even personally sign & special ouchie-kiss a few (hundred), like Matt did with the skif knives..even if she just signs 'Mere' on one of the paws, or on their clinic collar tag..
She could even do it from the comfort of a couch at home..or ask/bribe your 3 kids to help with the kissing & signing a hundred each, also..

I got lasik about 6 years ago and it's really not bad. They're messing with your eyeballs so there's obviously anxiety, but once they give you the numbing eyedrops you just don't feel anything. It doesn't hurt, but it's definitely a weird experience. Afterwards all you gotta do is not rub your eyes for a while and let them heal, and just follow their recovery instructions and don't strain your eyes for a week or so.
Perfect chance to catch up on a bunch of audio books.
The worst part for me was when they cut the flap to let the laser do it's thing. I was terrified that if I moved my eye(even though they had a thing holding it still) that it would mess up the cut and screw up my vision, so I picked a spot on the ceiling and stared at it like my life depended on it. Well, like my vision depended on it anyway.

When Matt asked Mere if she was going to take the Valium...she hesitated, but I know inside she was thinking "HELL YES!".
I was able to be at the doctors office when a friends wife had Lasik done. We got to watch several patients get the procedure before my friends wife was up so we were kind of used to it by the time it was her turn. Cutting the flap was unnerving enough to watch but what really got peoples attention was when we could see smoke wafting off the patients eye while the laser was doing its work. She had similar results as Mere after the procedure. That was over 25 years ago and she's wearing glasses again but the prescription isn't as strong as it used to be.
My dad was in a lot more pain after he got out of lasik. I had to give him my hoodie to put over his head on the way home because it was to bright outside. He slept for a few hours, and was still uncomfortable that evening, but he was good the next day. I have HORRIBLE vision, and he said his gift to me when I graduate college will be lasik. Which I am excited for.

Eyes are the only thing that actively bother me. I tensed up when i saw that tool in her eye. I was not expecting that, but now i know I'd have a really hard time getting that stuff done.
I've never had issues watching medical procedures, but I broke my leg a couple years back and the doctor told me they might need to put the bone in place with metal but we would see (luckily I did not need that) but when I got home I looked up the surgery (which normally I would be fine watching) but the second I realized it would be my leg I nearly threw up.

Awwww seeing Mere that emotionally happy got to me right in the feel goods. Wish I heard what she said about seeing your face before I hit pause....
After I had my eyes done, I told my kids that since they shot my eyes with lasers, I could shoot lasers out and see through walls. It's been great.

That’s sooooo wrong. But soooooo funny. LOL
Mere, I had eye surgery three years ago and woke up in the middle to see a fantastic light show. It is great to be able to see again. No problems and no pain. Got my eyeglasses restriction removed from my DL.
I clicked on this cu, I had an interesting experience recently. I got a shard of metal in my eye I went to the er. No pain killers didn't put me under they took a needle cut into my eye and flicked out the metal. Then used a dremel to smoothe over the incision. Next day I have a follow up at the eye doc and he found RUST IN MY EYE and used another dremel to remove that. That's my cringe worthy story.
I wish I was that lucky.. I was hit straight in the eye with a bungee cord when I was 16: punched a hole in my retina, traumatic formation of a cataract, torn iris from 10-2 o'clock, corneal damage, and onset of traumatic glaucoma.. I had to have an new lense to replace my natural one and stitches to hold my iris in place, but fortunately my retina healed over the course of about a year (healed slightly offset so my vision is wavy in the center). For most eye surgeries, they don't majorly sedate or numb you.. they want to prevent anything that would cause the eyes to roll around during surgery
