I am mixed blood Ulster Scott. My family setteled in South Eastern Kentucky, in the mountains. One of our cabins, that mamaw and papaw lived in, was built in 1770. Growing up they didnt have running water until after they passed and my Great Uncle moved in and ran water to the cabin in the last ten years. They didnt get to attend school past second grade but they were the smartest cleanest folks you could ever meet. They rode horses until the 50's when my papaw came back from Korea and bought a jeep. The other side of my family were Cherokee and Creek hideouts from the forced removal west. I am an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. The Scotts Irish were able to adapt to the native people that lived beside them and they got along well because like the tribes they were clanish people and they understood each other. Alot of Scotts Irish were actually adopted members of the tribes. When I look at the hills my ancestors farmed, and placed their lives upon, I am amazed. Most of the rich settlers that were able to buy flat perfect farming grounds, they thought my ancestors were going to die of starvation, but here I am, almost two hundred years later, and only because my ancestors were tough, hardworking folks that never quit. I am a proud Cherokee/ Creek Scotts Irish Hillbilly.

I am awaiting Irish citizenship by my grandmother who was born in Kinvara, County Galway Ireland. My maternal grandfather were Ohio Irish Hannahs. What an American legend Robert Campbell was! 15.11.20 UTUBE.From UK. Our Intro.Re Film.- Robertt Campbel. Not Spell Checked. Sworn Statements.l. Wellcome to the "BBC". Everyone knows how trustwoirthy they are. (not). We knew over 300 people there and in Cent London Theater. We had middle class habits.Read "The Times" and had "friends in the police. health.govt. and other scenes. We went to Concerts and Art Exhibitions and went back stage etc. Then one day some victims were sent to us and they started to enlighten us and another person took us under a frightening wing.. We were painfully made aware that life is not just facts, theres truth lurking. Before we explain more about all that, the romatice picture pained of MR Campbell as usual is outrageous. Years ago we sat watching BBC wild life films Ohhh look at that Beaver.etc etc Now we notice they are going along with the horrific torturing of animals by Mr Campbell and others . For Money..They the BBC seem to think he is a hero. The voice over is of course part of the scam. There were 1000s of opportunistic uncaring people doing what he did and a high proportion of them died. We dont see any films about any of them. They did not hail from rich parents. He would not be admired had he been broke cos thats not part of BBC remit. What fools were the native americans to pander to the invaders. The tribes should have linked arms and got rid whilst they could. Instead abourt 6 million were killed. We dont see any huge efforts by Campbell to porotect the natives. Why didnt they scalp him.The US rail owners of course then started exploiting workers by payuing starvation wages and adopting "Dawinism" The idea behind that was "If God did not want me to kill workers he would stop me". Thugs were used to suppress any protests and the firms Burns and Pinkertons are the ones that attacked us in UK on behalf of UK Govt. How they didnt kill us we cant figure. Govt. All this activity in US was backed by British "economists" The Rail owners wee of course given free land once the "savages" had been got rid of. These BBC wild life films we refer to were hatched at Bristol where we have now found massive crrpotn incl the Universtity and the Dept Of Communities, Media and the HM MPs.etc. Rather than re write 1000pp heres a tiny extract which the BBC and their friends in the universties, police, Govt have attempted to supress using any tactic incl violence. Its all failed
PART ONE.Journalists and media. They are mis leading an easily fooled public. The public will grasp any easy option. That incl art. sport drama education, entertainment.appeasement. Theres 5 yr old kids round here who express themseves as if they are victorian Prime Ministers. They have no clue about what is gouing on. During the 12 yrs traipse we did in Cent london accompanied by victims who were at their last gasp. We were looking for help for them and justice for ourseklves. The most frequent response of public was either “F-Off or "Its Nothing To do with Me”.During that period we found crrp[tn being practised in the following orgs and by peoiple. Heres the short list- HM Courts. HM Bar Council. HM CPS. Magist Court incl Westminster. HM MPs and Ministers (one was insane). HM Coroners (attempts to use violence). Princes trust. Local Govt incl 50 parish Councils. 150 Councillors. Umptenn City and District Councils..LGA. GLA. The system said this- "If Theres Anything Wrong With Local Govt The Public Must Go Get A lawyer" (To write to the lawyer that you pay the wages of). Another quote- " We Dont Have Ideas Put Into Our Heads By The Public". Social Services- "Theres no One needing Any help In UK". Police Pig Ignorance.- "The Public Must not Be allowed To see The Evidence And the Police Dont Read Evidence". No reply from 26 police areas noir Mrs rudd home Office and promotor of the ex Christies Art auctions lawye Genrick in charge Local govt Crrptn. No repolies to qyuestions either as HM MP Notts or HM Minister.Massive crrptn throughout Notts County incl the Universities (ask). 26 Crrpt Universities backed by 1000s stdudents. (no questions answered). Dept Ill Healt incl m Hancock. No replies even about me lying here screaming in agony every nite for 7 yrs pratying for death. No competent help, in fact I spent 45 mins working on the doctors issues within the Hosp I had been sent to. in return I got a two inch free sample skin cream. She got the hell out of their as i suggested. We could not get to the boss of the place cos he had locked himself in. He advertised himself as "Everyones Best Mate". Hancock lives in Fornham West Suffolk and the area does cover ups re suicides and other deaths but Hancock sits there just like the queen does in SW1.The violent Police told us this- "The local Govt and HM Religion Want You Silenced".Our MH Clients had warned us about all this but we did not know whether it was so or not.SEE TWO.

We see no other life and enjoy the challenges to stay alive. We can live with ourselves for as long as we enjoy good company....ourselves. women are a burden and reserved for children. Along with the slave trade and stealing human beings from African, Jamaica, Haiti...horrifying. For me there is no pride there. Not to mention the Scots and English chased the French out of L'Acadie, along with many natives and mixed couples and children. The land grabs were the worst of all...many families were chased off their land or forced into treaties that were unfair. No white man could have survived without the aid of natives, many who invited them onto the land to show them how to get their furs and showed them the places they needed to go to survive. Eventually this would eat them alive

What an incredible story. There is a strange similarity in this story to what we see often in modern society. It is that many times we see a hard working person that becomes wealthy and raises a family, only to see the offspring become wealthy from inheritance. The offspring often do not do anything noteworthy on their own and many times they don't even raise a family. The chances that they were all homosexual is small, perhaps it is just that they become spoiled and selfish.?.? Of course, there can be many other reasons for this but it is something we see today as well. Robert Campbell was quite an interesting man that we don't hear enough about in history.

I think we could tread lightly before romanticizing a life such as this. In the research I have done about Early Frontier life I have found nothing easy, neat and tidy about these mens lives. Life was a daily grind of hard work and hyper vigilance. You can also forget that "noble savage" crap from films such as "Dances with Wolves". Native Americans were the product of generations of subsistence and survivalist living and were canny business people when required. Just sayin.

This program glossed over the American Civil war, 1861 to 1865. "While Robert supported the right of men to own slaves in 1857, Robert freed his slave Eliza and her two sons, apparently because his wife Virginia had grown distasteful of the institution. ... Robert therefore occupied a complicated point of view common to many at the time, viewing slavery as necessary and the law, not morally pure...After the initial crisis in 1861, Campbell undertook few overt political roles for most of the war, instead focusing on business." (Wikipedia) He would be a perfect fit for current American business morality. Still and all, a heck of a guy

    • @kitoharveywill5766

There's truth to that. Scots and Irish are brothers by Gaelic blood; what is accepted is Gaels (and possibly some picts too) either colonized Ireland from Scotland, or colonized Scotland from Ireland. The contention is only which way it went first.
After that though, there was always 2 way migration and trade between West- North Western Scotland and the East-North East of Ulster.
Although sharing culture at first, the Scots and the Irish diverged to a small extent. Historical Ulster had a fairly unique culture of its own, serving as a bridge between Scotland and the rest of Ireland. There were kingdoms that straddled both.
Once the much later plantations happened forced by the English (pissed off at the border reavers and presbyterians of Scotland and unable to control them), again a sort of Unique culture happened over centuries with what are today called Ulster Scots, who were not liked by the English at all, who were using them as a means of sowing division, and control over, the Irish who also, understandably in many cases, hated Ulster Scots too.
I'm proud of being an Ulster Scot, not of waving the Union Jack or paying homage to disgusting Royals, but of everything they've achieved, their struggles of survival and their fight to worship how they wish.
Damn shame though that we've been enemies of the Irish.
Many with an agenda claim the planters were Anglo by blood. It is simply false. Most inhabiting the areas where plantations stemmed from were gaelic Scots under control of the Crown. Over a period of many years, they were turned culturally Anglo but no population replacement occured and inter-marriage was rare.
PS: Can't speak for all, but if it's not pishing with rain, i'm not happy.

When we visited that tiny corner of SW Scotland our attention was directed to a ruin of a small chapel at the top of the walk up from the shore. Local lore had it that chapel was the last stop leaving and first stop arriving on the Scottish side. BTW Its pretty tricky do genealogy with all of the movement back and forth.
