  • The Latin mass is better than the new Mass. This is clear to anyone who has actually gone to a Latin Mass. if you don't believe that, find a Latin mass, go to it and you will see how much better it is.
The Latin Mass developed over centuries until finally, because of the Council of Trent, it was formulated and made Universal throughout the entire church.
in Latin. which, quite frankly, is a better language than any common language of the day. Latin is one of the three holy languages. Hebrew (or Aramaic) Greek and Latin are the three holy languages

I've been to Catholic masses all my life except during the pandemic and I totally agree with your critique. Catholic masses (and even the church buildings themselves) look a lot more like Protestant churches than Catholic ones. There is no solemnity, sermons, readings, and worship music are shallow. Even my atheist sister thinks Catholic masses are devoid of any legitimate religious value. Then, about six months ago, I started listening to Latin prayers by Patrick Lenk, and it gave me something that years of mass couldn't. I will say however that not everyone will appreciate it (or are ready to appreciate it).

I'm currently Lutheran but am convinced RC is true. It is sad that RCs think that the New Mass will bring in Protestants. It won't. If they had left the Latin Mass in place, perhaps it would have different results. What attracts me to RC is the fact that it is the Church that Jesus found, and the solemnity and reverence of the Latin Mass. I have only visited one NO Mass so far but plan to visit an FSSP Mass soon. They are in full Communion with Rome and Pope Francis recently met with the FSSP and have given them the OK to continue it, thank God.

I have to call you out on something that you said. The Novas Ordo is NOT like the Protestant Church service. This is because of the Holy Eucharist. I just watched a video where Protestants were criticizing the Novas Ordo Mass because of the Eucharist.
For me, I left Protestantism because I thought that the Novas Ordo was so gorgeous and holy that I have never looked back. So there is that.

However, I have hard time accepting rev Ripberger as an authority regarding validity of Novus Ordo ‘mass’. Specifically, if he feels there may be occasional supernatural phenomena associated with the Novus Ordo, it does not mean much, because devil can use them in order to mislead the souls.

Good video man. Most points made in this video are correct. It seems Quo Primium is still most likely binding. On the question of the New mass, it is valid but most likely illicit due to the changes made to Ecclesiology among other issues. The four ends of the Mass are Adoration, Atonement, Thanksgiving, and Petition. These four ends, especially Atonement, are obscured by the Novus Ordo as it presents the Holy Mass not as a Sacrifice and but as a 'Fraternal Supper'. Reject Modernism and Freemasonry. Hold firm to Holy Traditiona and strive for Heaven. God bless.

Its always interesting to me that folks blame the Novus Ordo for whats happened as if it didnt occur during turbulent times in the world with wars and the sexual revolution. I met many older ex catholics in my 40 years as a Protestant who left because they didnt know their faith and didnt understand what was happening in Mass. Saying Catholics are leaving the faith doesnt mean anything when a vast majority of Catholics are culturally Catholic, not devout, church-going Catholics. So when their "Catholic" kids leave the faith they were never there to begin with. Youre not going to fix that indifference by making the Mass unintelligible.
Yes, i love the Latin Mass. The final step in my conversion was when i visited St Michaels Abbey (where everything is in Latin) for Vespers and i told my wife (who was one of those cultural Catholics) that it felt like the first time id ever worshipped God.
My wife (who is now on fire for the Faith) and I, along with our 4 kids go to a NO Mass because thats whats available to me. Since my conversion ive been predominately at NO. I never seem to see all these liturgical abuses everyone cries about. Does that mean they dont exist or occur? No. But theres 17,000 parishes just in the US. In the same way we do not expect (though we would prefer) priests to be perfect we also know these things will occur. These priests that are making the abuses likely wouldn't be any better in a Latin Mass either.
Can we also stop with the receiving on the tongue vs hand debate? The early Christians received in the hand. This constant need for TLM goers to pretend theyre better than NO attendees is grating. Not because i value their opinions but because all theyre doing is creating division in The Church. This isnt a shot at you, btw.
I genuinely respect your willingness to see both sides and i can understand some bias. The Latin Mass is beautiful. I was waiting for a "Bergoglio" to drop as that seems to be the way of so many of these TLM channels these days. Unfortunately I see many TLM attendees being led out of the Church by pied pipers who are just Modern day Martin Luther's pretending they know better than the Magisterium as though submission to it is not required for Catholics.

I am a Catholic born in 2002. I have always followed the novus ordo and never saw anything wrong with it. My faith is as strong as any person who attends the TLM. I had many good priests who preached the values of Jesus. None of the people that went to my Church espoused anything that was contrary to the core beliefs of the Catholic Church. Translation: We fall in line with every single Conservative, Catholic, Christian value that many who go to the "Traditional Latin Mass," claim that we have abandoned. I know many converts, one of which I have sponsored through RCIA, who had their start in the Novus Ordo mass. It genuinely isn’t more or less “powerful” than the TLM, and the mystery isn’t of the mass, but the transubstantiation, and receiving of the Eucharist which is the center of Catholicism as we know it. Not the mass, the EUCHARIST. The other sacraments are also important, and as long as those are kept, and the laypeople have access to them, the Church will be fine in performing its duties in bringing more people to Christ. From what I understand, people believe that after Vatican II the church became less holy… whatever that means. I don’t think the pope was attacking the Traditional Latin Mass itself, but the people out there who believe that it is the ONLY way to truly “remedy” all the problems of the Church. First off, there are many problems within the church that are not related to the mass: rape, abortion, false teaching, pedophilia, homosexuality, and other abuses… but guess what people? All of this bad stuff happened even before Vatican II. It’s only now with the advent of technology and the media that it’s being HIGHLIGHTED. And from the public’s perspective, all these bad things only happened after Vatican II so it must have been caused by Vatican II, right? Vatican II Like all other ecumenical councils was designed to reinforce teaching that was already there, not to add anything NEW to the doctrine or canon. For the millionth time, we had to reiterate the trinity, the creed, the meaning of everything because that is the Church’s job, and for some reason people can’t discipline themselves to just remember BASIC THEOLOGY. The fact that they needed an ecumenical council meant that somewhere someone was teaching something false. That isn’t a mass problem… that is a teaching problem. So the actual solution… is to get better teachers. What a concept: getting people who are better trained in church teaching into the priesthood. The mass doesn’t deceive people… people deceive people. To blame a format of the service for the problems of the Church is misguided at best, and malicious at worst. It is misguided because the solution is to actually get better taught priests into the priesthood. It is malicious because the priests, deacons, nuns, bishops, and Popes who have committed these heinous acts don’t need theological correction, they need corporate correction. They need to go to prison for their crimes. I think that the pope doesn’t want the traditional Latin mass to become a “band aid” fix for the problems of the church. He doesn’t want us to abuse the traditional Latin mass as a way for ignoring other issues. Because if people genuinely believe that going to a different kind of service is all it takes to fix the problems within the church instead of addressing the problems directly, that is what they’re doing with the mass. They are abusing the mass to make themselves feel better. Using the mass like… a drug quite frankly. The pope has a responsibility to fix any problems within the church because we are the beacon for the world. He can’t do it on his own, and when we practice religious escapism by going to retreats or attending a different kind of mass, we are complicit in complacency and not addressing the issues we have. In a time where the world is pressuring us to change, we don’t need distractions. We don’t need a new service or a new this that or the other. We need to focus on the problems and fix them. He is directing us to get out of our shells, out of the safe haven of the Church to see and fix the problems of the world, and of course to fix the problems of the Church. If we are banded together, we can overcome any problems within the church and otherwise, but if we cower in our confession booths, if we hide in our pews, nothing will get fixed and that’s a fact. Of course people won’t understand this, because it’s so many words, so the apparent solution is to take away the distraction. Think of it this way: you have a fat kid who eats a lot, sits on the couch all day playing video games. Of course, all he has to do is get up, exercise, and eat less. But the fact of the matter is: he’s not gonna do that. He’s gonna keep on sitting there eating his lays and playing Halo. You can explain to him all day long that he needs to stop doing this and why he must stop, and he won’t. Why? Because he’s distracted. Distracted from the problem by the pleasures of the games and the chips. So, as a parent, the best thing is to really take away the chips and the video games. Sure, the child will cry and throw a hissy fit at first, but he will eventually calm down. After the distraction is taken away, the child will have time to reflect, and correct the behavior, so they can stop being fat and unhealthy. That is similar to how a lot of people treat the mass (TLM and novus ordo) retreats, etc… they go to just feel good instead of looking outwards and fixing the real problems. Pope Francis is an older gentleman. I don’t know if he had kids but he must at least know a thing or two about human nature, because he realizes that like anything humans can get their hands on, the mass can and will be abused. The same thing applies to the Traditional Latin Mass that the youth today so proudly love. He just doesn’t want us abusing the mass to escape our real duty as Catholics. I’ll give you a hint: nobody gets converted by a Catholic who never goes anywhere except Mass. abortion doesn’t get fixed by people who just attend service and do their sacraments. Battles are never won in basic training. You have to go out there and fight. You have to realize the human element in the church and fight that too. Whatever you do, if you’re a Catholic who goes to traditional Latin mass or the novus ordo, don’t be complacent, and don’t use the traditions to escape your duties that you received at confirmation.

Great video. I agree with your assessment on Quo primum; the Novus Ordo is valid. However, I do not think it is thereby good or "licit", to put it more technically. Yes, transubstantiation ocurrs, because there is validity, but the effects of attending a N.O. Mass on the faithful are disastrous over time. Of course, if you have to go once or twice due to family obligations, it probably won't make any difference. It may even be a good thing to see once in a while how cringy it is, just to thank God for the True Mass of the Ages.
However, if you go to the N.O. every Sunday for several years, your faith will gradually be sucked from you, like a wound that will not heal. You will absorb a worldly, Protestant mentality and your fervour will die a slow death, until one day you will think to yourself: "what's the point of still attending Mass? It won't be a big deal if I miss it today." After that you will be easy prey either for a Protestant sect or religious indifferentism and atheism. One step leads to another. This is why I agree with the SSPX that we should NOT assist the N.O. Mass. It is a grave danger to our faith.

I do not deny the validity of the Novus Ordo Mass. I have noticed that as a rule, confession is available before mass at Latin Mass parishes. This is not the case at Novus Ordo parishes. In addition, to receive communion on one's knees at a Novus Ordo mass is unusual and difficult. To be in accord with the rule of our faith, one must receive the eucharist while in a state of grace, as per paragraph 1415 of the Catechism promulgated by John Paul II. As such, Novus Ordo parishes make receiving the eucharist reverently and in a state of grace a substantial difficulty.
One can, of course, attend mass and not receive communion, and spend one's time praying the rosary or reading scripture. Unfortunately, during the Novus Ordo Mass, there is the expectation of responding, of singing, of shaking peoples hands. In short, private devotions are made difficult. You are not left a moment of peace. It is unpleasant. What can I say about holding hands during the Our Father...

The problem is the people are are the authority of the church instead of the priest. If you want change and things to start rolling back in time, pressure your priest to stand up and be a priest and say no more to the people. Encourage one thing at a time like no more girls are the alter or start a fun raiser for alter rails and stack them in front of the doors. That gets someone's attention.

The Real Presence Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ ✝️, in the Holy Eucharist. Is still PRESENT in both the Norvus Ordo Mass and the Traditional Latin Mass, I do NOT understand Latin and I'm not even American.

Didn't you say in another video that your own opinion on these things must always defer to the "authoritative" teachings and decrees of the Church? Well it seems to me that Pope Francis, reversing his predecessor, has just pretty much mandated the Novus Ordo. I walked out of the new mass before you were born. It is totally lacking imo. Not just the parish clown acts; even the most "formal" celebration in St. Peter's doesn't cut it. It's hard to verbalize. Perhaps instead of focusing on the power of precise utterings in the Canon of the Mass to *transform* bread and wine we should focus on whether the work-mechanics (litur-geia) of the New Mass have the power to put us into a state of true receiving. If it's a question of the ineffective form of the New Mass versus the ineffective form of a traditional Anglican Eucharist, I would choose the later; the singing, the music, the language, the formalities are just better.

Latin is not one of the three Holy Languages that is 100% heretical. All languages are holy or set apart as they were created by God. To insist Latin has special powers is Fetishism. A fetish (derived from the French fétiche, which comes from the Portuguese feitiço, and this in turn from Latin facticius, 'artificial' and facere, 'to make') is an object believed to have supernatural powers, or in particular, a human-made object that has power over others. Essentially, fetishism is the attribution of inherent value, or powers, to an object.

Latin, Greek and Hebrew are the holy languages because it was in those languages that was written “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews “ on the cross.

@@cronbtc5680 Technically speaking Jesus spoke Aramaic. From Fr. John Hardon Catholic Dictionary:
ARAMAIC. Named from Aram, a country in Southwestern Asia. A Semitic language spoken by the Jews during and after the Babylonian exile (606-536 B.C.). It was spoken by Christ and the Apostles, since in New Testament times Hebrew was cultivated only by the learned. To meet the needs of the Jewish faithful, the Hebrew Bible was made available in Aramaic paraphrases called Targums.

You have no authority to determine what is holy and what is not. You are full of yourself and therefore full of fecal matter.
