10 reasons I can never be Protestant again

  • I grew up in nominal Protestant home, in a heavily Protestant area of the United States.
We went to church simi regularly at first, then occasionally, then not all.
When I was in my early 20s I wanted to start living life as a Christian. So, I asked God to show me which church he wanted me to join, and he made it clear that it was the Catholic church. I didn't took that to mean Catholicism was absolutely true and all other churches were wrong at the time. Just that God wanted me to be Catholic. I saw it as no different then any other denomination. It was right for me but someone else might need to be baptist or Methodist or whatever.
However, my Protestant friends and family didn't see it that way. They seemed to think any church was ok, except the Catholic church. And they routinely challenged my faith, making all kinds of accusations against the Catholic church. So I decided to do research and see if these accusations were true. I began reading the bible, looking into history, reading the early church fathers, and educating myself on what the Catholic church teaches.
Over time I came to the conclusion that Catholicism is the absolute truth, and Protestantism is in serious error.

I think Protestant converts are the best Catholics because of their knowledge of the Bible. I was born Catholic, and it is only now in the advent of the internet and UA-cam that I am learning a lot about my religion which I never heard from any priest. Generally, Catholics who attend Sunday Mass regularly have a wider exposure to the Scriptures than 'Protestants' in general - I'm no referring to those who study theology to be pastors - because without a missal that covers all the books and psalms, their pastors on Sundays tend to use their favourite parts. Most of my Protestant friends in general have no idea about other bits of scripture as a result. Another thing is that while Catholics may not quote as well as Protestants, they aren't necessarily schooled in apologetics to defend their beliefs but tend to know what they believe either from the Creeds or from their devotional practices, and sacramental life. 😊

@@k_teenent8181your understanding of purgatory is wrong. The purging process is one that should begin in this life and is then completed in the next prior to coming into the full presence of God. Those who go through purgatory are saved individuals who are being sanctified, made pure, so that can truly see God face to face. Nothing unclean will enter Heaven, so we must be made perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect.
As for the rich man, he may have been going through the motions, believing that he was a man of faith, but his actions, or lack there of, proved otherwise.
For him, no purging was necessary , because he had no genuine love for God and his neighbor. He made his choice and now lives eternally with that decision.

Goodness, I have so much to say.
As a Protestant (looking to convert) I thank you so much for this video. Thank you so much for taking the time to put up all the resources and Biblical references. I was frantically taking notes throughout this entire video.
I was once approached by some members of the Mormon church, who were eager and well versed in their tactics on converting people. They kept saying they were the one true church. Then, a few months later, I was approached by some Jehovah Witnesses, who, like the Mormons, said the same things. (Of course they had very different views and beliefs.) They also claimed to be the one true church. I ended up telling my best friend about this, who is Baptist, and naturally she said, "Oh no, WE are the one true church." I do not know why it took me three times of hearing that, but I knew that they all three couldn't be correct. And I knew that historically, the first church was the Catholic church. Ever since then, I've been trying to learn more and more about the Catholic church. Fun fact, it's best to ask a Catholic about their beliefs, rather than anyone else. :)
The prosperity gospel is downright blasphemous; not a church at all. Please pray for the victims of this bad theology.

Is the Catholic Church Jesus’ original church?
The quotes provided below are historical facts in reference to our early church which existed prior to Romes adoption of Christianity in 313 A.D.
      Church:
      * "Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrneans 8 (c. A.D. 110)]
      Bishop, Priest & Deacon:
      * “Since, then, I have had the privilege of seeing you, through Damas your most worthy bishop, and through your worthy presbyters Bassus and Apollonius, and through my fellow-servant the deacon Sotio, whose friendship may I ever enjoy, because he is subject to the bishop as to the grace of God, and to the presbytery as to the law of Jesus Christ [St. Ignatius of Antioch- Letter to the Magnesians 2 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Eucharist:
      * “Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ, which have come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God... They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Ash that suffered for our sins and that the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6-7 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Scripture:
      * “[W]hoever perverts the sayings of the Lord for his own desires, and says that there is neither resurrection nor judgment, is the firstborn of Satan. Let us leave the foolishness and the false teaching of the crowd and turn back to the word that was delivered to us in the beginning.” [St. Polycrap of Smyrna - Letter to the Philippians 7 (c. A.D. 135)].
      Sunday:
      * “But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead.” [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 67 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Actions/Works:
      * “We have learned from the prophets, and we believe it is true, that punishments, and chastisements, and good rewards, are rendered according to the merit of each man's actions. If it is not so, then all things happen by fate, and nothing is in our own power. If it is fated that this man be good, and this other evil, the former is not meritorious nor the latter blameworthy [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 43 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Apostolic Succession:
      * “It is within the power of all, in every church, who may wish to see the truth, to contemplate clearly the Tradition of the apostles manifested throughout the whole world; and we are in a position to reckon up those who were instituted bishops in the churches by the apostles, and [to demonstrate] the succession of these men to our own times; those who neither taught nor knew anything these [heretics] rave about.” [St. Irenaeus of Lyons - Against Heresies 3:3:1 (c. A.D. 189)]
      Baptism:
      * “The children shall be baptized first. All the children who can answer for themselves, let them answer. If there are any children who cannot answer for themselves, let their parents answer for them, or someone else from their family.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confession:
      * “After this, one of the bishops present, at the request of all, laying his hand on him who is ordained bishop, shall pray this way: O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. pour forth the power that is from you, of "the princely Spirit' that you delivered to your beloved Child, Jesus Christ, and that he bestowed on your holy apostles, who established the Church that hallows you everywhere, for the endless glory and praise of your name. Father, "who knows the hearts [of all]” grant this servant, who you have chosen for the episcopate, to feed your holy flock and serve as your high priest blamelessly night and day, and unceasingly turn away wrath from your face and offer to you the gifts of the holy Church. And that by the high priestly Spirit he may have authority "to forgive sins" according to your command.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 2-3 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confirmation:
      * “The bishop will then lay his hand upon them, invoking, "Lord God, you who have made these worthy of the removal of sins through the bath of regeneration, make them worthy to be filled with your Holy Spirit, grant to them your grace, that they might serve you according to your will, for to you is the glory, Father and Son with the Holy Spirit, in the holy Church, now and throughout the ages of the ages. Amen." After this he pours the oil into his hand, and laying his hand on each of their heads, says, "I anoint you with holy oil in God the Father Almighty, and Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit." Then, after sealing each of them on the forehead, he shall give them the kiss of peace and say, "The Lord be with you." And the one who has been baptized shall say, "And with your spirit." So shall he do to each one [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21-22 (c. A.D. 215).
      Peter’s Authority:
      * “The Lord says to Peter: "I say to you,' he says, “that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven. [Mt 16:18-19]. On him he builds the Church, and commands him to feed the sheep [Jn 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed the others were also what Peter was [apostles], but a primacy is given to Peter, by which it is made clear that there is one Church and one chair.... If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he think that he holds the faith? If he deserts the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he be confident that he is in the Church?.” [St. Cyprian of Carthage - Unity of the Catholic Church 4; first edition (Treatise 1:4) (A.D. 251)].
These few topics (but a glimpse) were not only discussed but settled BEFORE Rome adopted Christianity (The Catholic Church) and eventually became The Roman Catholic Church as it also adopted its name after 313 A.D.
Is the Catholic Church Jesus’ original church? Yes!
Does this excuse all its mistakes and sins from the record? Of course not! As Christians, we are called to hold the church accountable, not leave it and let evil flourish within it.
This refusal of accountability within every Christian has led to over 40,000 diferente Christian churches and the ignorance which has flourished from it.
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:13-15‬
We are called by God to unite! What better church to do it under than the one he started.

I was baptized Catholic as an infant but grew up not knowing anything Christian. I gave my life to Jesus for the first time around Feb 2023. I started reading the Bible in a Year w/ Fr. Mike every day and praying the rosary daily too. Around Easter 2023 I attend a Church with a friend for the first time. Other times I've been to church was for a family death.
I attended what I now know was an Anglican Church for several months. But I had to leave b/c of the lack of Sacraments and reverence. I felt unworthy of taking the Body and Blood of Jesus b/c I was in a state of mortal sin. I didn't know about Mortal and venial sins at the time but I do now. It was hard for me to leave this church b/c I was leaving a good community. They were good people but I wasn't there for them I was there for Jesus.
I honestly believe that by praying the Rosary daily given to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary, she led me to my First Confession in Dec 2023. Now I'm in RCIA going to get Confirmed and partake in my First Communion March 19, 2024. I feel much closer to Christ!

I’m Protestant. I’m not happy with it. It’s like Christianity Lite, the weight watcher’s version with all the creamy richness stripped out of it - especially when it comes to Communion/Eucharist. Jesus said ‘by their fruit you will know them’, well, my prayer life was a grab bag of spiritual popcorn - until I learned to pray the Rosary and got some REAL victory over sins that beset me, and also experienced the most severe pushback from the devil. I am ashamed that Protestants have so little regard for Mary. The blessed mother of God has had me in tears when I pray the Rosary. Moving out of Protestantism soon, just have to see a few commitments through before that…

Admittedly, this video has made me nervous about where I truly stand in the eyes of the Lord, which is something I’ve been wondering since my return. But I look to the example of St. Paul, who persecuted Christians and the early Church, who professed his guilt before the masses, and yet rose to become a Saint. If God can forgive that, then indeed, I am in good hands.

I was raised in a very strong Catholic family, and believed all of the teachings o the Church. However, in 1972, I met some high school friends who were sincere Baptists. They presented what they had learned about the errors of the Church. Unfortunately, I believed some of their doctrine. I tried for the next seven years to attend various evangelical Protestant churches, received Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and continued to attend the Catholic Church while still going to the various other Christian Communions . However, I knew something was amiss. I began reading all of the New Testament's 27 books, asking the Holy Spirit to open my mind to the Truth. I then went to Confession for the first time in several years. I then dropped all involvement with the Protestant bodies.
It is a blessing to have returned to the Catholic Faith, " Which was once and for all delivered unto the saints".

You're blindly repeating Catholic talking points and are totally unaware of the truth. The Catholic Church teaches you that they gave us the Bible but that claim doesn't hold up to scrutiny--history denies that claim.
Do we have any hard evidence that the New Testament Gospels are older than the claims of the Roman Catholic church? Yes we do. Very simply, early church writers (fathers) quote the New Testament. They’re doing sermons, they are doing commentaries, they are writing theologies and they’re quoting the New Testament and we know when these guys lived because of Roman records show when they quote something, it fixes a date for that quotation: the thing they are quoting must have existed prior to the quotation. This is simple, coherent logic that apparently escaped Roman Catholic sources or they just don’t want you to know.
The Epistle of Barnabas bears the 70-79 A.D., quotes of Matthew and Mark. The Didache quotes Matthew extensively between 70 A.D. and 130 A.D. Luke and John are both quoted in what is known as the Muratorian fragment, again 170 A.D. to 180 A.D. There are external methods of dating too, paleographical analysis, carbon-14, etc. Polycarp’s life dates 69 A.D. to 155 A.D., and was a convert of the Apostle John and quotes the Book of Acts in his own Epistle to the Philippians. The Shepherd of Hermas quotes Acts several times so there we have the date. Romans, an Epistle of Paul, was cited by Clement of Rome a lot 95 A.D. to 97 A.D. First Corinthians is cited in the Didache and the Shepherd of Hermas. So is 2 Corinthians and also by Polycarp. Galatians is cited by Polycarp and Diognesius about 150 A.D. Ephesians and Colossians are cited by Polycarp, Clement of Rome and Ignatius 50 A.D. to 117 A.D. Philippians is again cited by Polycarp 50 A.D. to 117 A.D.
We see a pattern here. Every book in the New Testament is quoted in a source earlier than the claims of the Roman Catholic church; every one of them without exception. To those who are enamored by Catholicism, if you are quoting from “something” then that “something” has to exist prior to the quote. That’s common sense.
      THE ROCK:
The problem with Peter being the rock is that the church's position is a philosophical argument (Col. 2:8) that has to ignore every single reference in Scripture to the "rock" being God and never anyone else.
      2 Samuel 22:32
“For who is God, besides the Lord?
And WHO IS THE ROCK, BESIDES OUR GOD?
Isaiah 28:16 (Yahweh says Jesus is the rock)
16 therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has LAID AS A FOUNDATION IN ZION, a STONE, a TESTED STONE, a PRECIOUS CORNERSTONE, of a SURE FOUNDATION: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
1 Peter 2:4-7 (Peter says Jesus is the rock)
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 YOU YOURSELVES LIKE LIVING STONES are being built up as A SPIRITUAL HOUSE, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” 7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “THE STONE THAT THE BUILDERS REJECTED HAS BECOME THE CORNERSTONE,”
Acts 4:10-12 (Peter says Jesus is the rock)
10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead-by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This JESUS IS THE STONE that was rejected by you, the builders, WHICH HAS BECOME THE CORNERSTONE. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
1 Corinthians 10:3-4 (Paul says Christ is the rock)
      1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
      2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
      3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: AND THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST.
Not once in the entirety of the writings of the Apostles does the word catholic appear in connection with the Christian church. Christian is the term that derived from Antioch, not Catholic or "universal". The term has no relevance with regard to the Church defined by Christ through the Apostles. It gains relevance only under Theodosius who finally attempts a universal church as a means of holding a collapsing Rome together and stopping fights between pagans and Christians.
We don’t find Catholicism in the writings of the Apostles. The Apostles had but one charge and that was to define, found and build the church so one would imagine that if they had meant Catholicism, we'd be reading it directly from Scripture instead of “picking it out of pepper” or by inference via external tradition, philosophical assumptions, hocus pocus and the likes. The apostles did define the Church. They just didn't define yours.

as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
The untaught and unstable people Peter is referring to are religions like Catholics that teach false gospels. Catholicism is found nowhere in Scripture. That's why they have the catechism---to explain their different gospel.
You've been deceived into thinking that the Catholic Church is Jesus' church and Catholicism is biblical. The truth is that biblical Christianity existed before Catholicism and Protestantism. Although both have their problems, all Protestant denominations agree on the important part--how are we saved? The Bible teaches salvation by grace through faith--simply by believing. Catholicism teaches works.

They assume that God doesn’t have a preference or worse they don’t care what God’s preference is. There is nowhere in the New Testament stating the priesthood is over and not needed anymore. Suddenly I felt a calling to the Catholic Church through prayer. I had dreams when my Baptist preacher grandfather died. I saw him in purgatory and wasn’t allowed to speak. I didn’t know that during the dream, but when the calling to the Catholic Church came months later, it completely understood it. I didn’t even understand Grace until I understood purgatory is a real place. I feel awful and blessed, but my family is being hit hard by those around us. I still cannot believe this is happening. I have two children and we’re not married, but want to be. The problem is we just don’t know what to do. It’s very frightening. Please pray for us. If you have any advice, please help in any way.

Ask John Henry Newman said to be steeped in history is to cease to be a protestant. My family we’re all Catholic. I wasn’t raised a Catholic I had a conversion experience when I was 17 I was looking at Islam as the faith and then one day working since I was a lumberman I heard this voice saying you have found the truth in the Catholic church is that is the true church. That was back in 1981 I’ve been a member of the Catholic church for over 40 years now and I’ve come back to the face of my fathers who came to this country which is in Canada 350 years ago I have to say I’m proud of my heritage my language, but especially in my faith, and the love of God and his Blessed mother Mary I also now attend a traditional Latin mass and I see the beauty and the reference is like a beacon. So, with this in mind, your program was exceptional. Very very very, very great more people have to come to know the truth and you only scratch the surface my friend, but to say nonetheless you’ve done great work I will pray for you and one day maybe not in my lifetime, that Protestantism will disappear, and the truth will be there, and those who desire the truth will come to know the truth, and embrace the truth we have to pray for our holy father Francis, who, unfortunately, is undermining the church in a very big way along with other clergy that are under him that he comes around before his death and correct the mistakes that he’s implemented because unfortunately, he sounds like a schismatic and some of his ideas stem almost from Pelagianism that you can get to heaven using your own effort but it’s a cooperation with that grace that we find eternity with our Lord. God bless my friend and I love you.

Your tree broke off from our tree and group. That’s why even today you get 65,000 variant denominations I know my history I know my Bible to be steeped in history is to cease to be a protestant that was by blessed John Henry Newman, who was a high church, Anglican, and being right with God only God knows that, so there’s no bad news we all come short but I do know that I am in the true church and it’s up to you to find out which church you belong to what creed you belong to what you believe other than a book that you interpret your own way therefore, my friend you get right with God and see the truth and beauty of the Catholic Church God be in your way each day Maranatha.

Ed, I do know church history. Who is the ultimate authority? God or the church? You have dilemma.
      2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.
(In the original Greek text there is no break between 2 Timothy 3:17 and 2 Timothy 4:1)
      2 Timothy 4:1-5
1 I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But as for you, use self-restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Paul is telling Timothy to preach the word-to preach the Scripture, not traditions, not church fathers. Jesus NEVER cited apocrypha as Scripture and His only mention of traditions was when He rebuked the Pharisees for teaching the traditions of men as Scripture.
      Jude 3
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all time handed down to the saints.
In 2 Timothy, Paul writes to remain faithful to the things they had taught. That’s past tense meaning they had already been taught and not “will be taught” as the Catholic teaches through unbiblical dogmas. He tells us that the Scriptures alone gives us everything we need for salvation and Jude tells us that we have been given everything that was once handed down for all time to the saints (believers) was delivered and completed in the 1st century A.D.
      Acts 20:25-32 (Paul in Ephesus)
25 And now, behold, I know that none of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom will see my face again.
26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all,
27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.
28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
      29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.
32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Paul writes in Acts 20, that he has given us the whole counsel of God; he has shown us everything that God wants us to know. The word of God’s grace is able to build us up to give us the inheritance among those who are sanctified. This inheritance that Paul wrote about is salvation, the kingdom of God, the new heavens and new earth, eternal life-"the riches of the glory of God" (Ephesians 1:18; Romans 8:17). This is what Paul says the Word of grace is able to give the elders at Ephesus (and at Bethlehem!). "I commend you to God and to the Word of his grace which is able to build you up and GIVE YOU THE INHERITANCE."
      Faith alone:
      John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"
      John 3:18
Whoever BELIEVES in him is not condemned, but WHOEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through FAITH; and that not of yourselves, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD; NOT AS A RESULT OF WORKS, so that no one may boast.
      Galatians 3:2
This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Nothing about works in those verses too have eternal life. I could you more but the point has been made. In order for works to be necessary for salvation, these verses are either lies or you're taking them out of context. No one in the Old or New Testaments was ever saved by works. It's always been by grace through faith---simply by believing the gospel.
      Jesus said in John 3:14,
"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,"
Why did Jesus say that and what did He mean?

@@rickdavis2235 This is why you do not know Church history. Abraham was taking his son Isaac up a mountain to offer him, and his son asked, "Father, the fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
"God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering," Abraham answered him. Genesis 22:7-8
God, Himself will provide the lamb. This also happened in the New Testament. Jesus was called by John the Baptist in John 1:29, "Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." Since Jesus was God's Son, he was also offered as the sacrifice for all mankind.
The Passover in Exodus chapter 12 was about the final plague on the Egyptians. The Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians for many years. Moses spoke to God as the leader of the Israelites, and God gave Moses ten plagues to give to the Egyptians to make the Egyptians let the Israelites go free.
Exodus starts the story of the final plague, which involves slaughtering lambs to put their blood on the doorposts of the Israelites to tell the "angel of death" to PASSOVER and not kill the firstborn male in those households. They had to be unblemished lambs from either sheep or goats. It goes on to say that the lamb's flesh had to be eaten with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. And they had to eat all of it. Any leftovers had to be burned. Then it says you must commemorate this day as a feast in Yahweh's honor. You must keep it a feast day for all generations; this is a decree for all time.
Exodus 16:4-8 tells us of the bread God gave to the Israelites while wandering in the desert after fleeing Pharaoh. "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not." Bread from Heaven is the term Jesus used to describe Himself.
Later we have people who say to Jesus in John 6, "This is a hard saying," and Jesus doubles down on it and says, "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life within you."
At the beginning of the Bible, they say they don't eat from the Tree of Knowledge, and they do eat from it. (Genesis 3:6) The New Testament says to eat, and you could tell from the tree of Life since Jesus said He is the life, and they don't. (John 6:66) Today, many do not eat as Jesus commanded, and He said if you don't eat, you have no life within you.
In Genesis 14, the mysterious priest Melchizedek, King of Salem - a city later identified as Jerusalem - gave a blessing of bread and wine, foreshadowing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the priest-king of the heavenly Jerusalem. Jesus offers Himself at the Last Supper under bread and wine. Jesus began as the food for our souls. In the Gospel of Luke, 2:7, "and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and placed him in a manger." Remember that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Micah 5:2 tells us, "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from old, from ancient days." The word "Bethlehem" means "House of Bread." Later Jesus would say, "I am the bread of life."
A manger is a food trough for animals. They ate out of the manger. The manger was where Jesus was put after he was born. John the Baptist, when Jesus came, said in John 1:29, "Behold the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" We learned they ate an unblemished lamb during the Passover.
In John 6:27, Jesus said, "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him, God the Father has placed His seal of approval."
      John 6:32-56
32 - 35 Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, Truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from Heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from Heaven. For the bread of God comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world."
They said to him, "Lord, give us this bread always."
"Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life, he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.'"
I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread, which comes down from Heaven that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the bread which came down from Heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."
The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
"Truly, truly I say to you UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life within you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him."
The original New Testament in the Bible was composed in Greek. The Greek word Jesus used for "eat" is "trogo." It means "to gnaw, munch, crunch." That word was always used in the literal sense in Greek. He honestly told us to eat His flesh and drink His blood. That upset the disciples because they knew from the Old Testament that eating flesh and drinking blood was against their faith. The blood of animals was not to be drunk because it was the animal's life. Jesus, too, believed this. Because His blood is His Life, we can drink His Life into us. And we also eat His Flesh into us to become one with Him.
Many will say Jesus said He was the gate, door, or vine and did indeed say those things. However, not a single follower left him for saying he was one of those things. However, they left him when he said his body was true food and blood was true drink. John 6:66 tells us, "Then they went back to their former way of life and walked with him no more."
Whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord" (1 Cor. 11:27) . How can you be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord if it is a symbol? You can't.
St. Augustine of Hippo was familiar with the Gnostic movement that human flesh was terrible and that Spirit in humans was good, as he was a member of the Gnostic movement known as Manichaeism. He later became a bishop and a doctor of the Church. He was also a prolific writer and homilist. In Sermon 227, he further explained, "The bread you see on the altar, having been sanctified by the Word of God, is the body of Christ. The chalice, or rather what is in the chalice, sanctified by the Word of God, is the blood of Christ." Augustine said that our eyes see ordinary bread and wine, but when a priest consecrates them, our faith obligates us to believe that they are the actual body and blood of Christ.
One hundred fifty documented times, the host turned into real flesh, the left ventricle of a heart, and the wine turned into real blood - AB Positive, same as the burial cloth of Christ, and a host started to beat like a heart in Mexico on July 24th of this year. They inspected it and found it to be a consecrated host. Nothing more.

The Roman Catholic Church had nothing to do with the Bible.
      33 A.D. - The Cross
50 - 80 A.D. - New Testament Gospels and Acts. This is not a conservative fundamentalist number. That is a consensus view and there are very few people who would date them before, although some people put Mark in the 40’s, and there are very few people who would go beyond 80 A.D. for any Gospel. The Catholic church claims it gave us the bible in the 4th century AD. That's a real problem because you can't quote books that won't exist for 300 years.
What is the evidence for the dates for the New Testament?
      Three non-technical points:
      1. The Gospels prophesy the destruction of the Temple (occurred in A.D. 70) but never mention it’s fulfillment. Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 all prophesy the destruction of the Temple, however none of the Gospels mention its fulfillment so the presumption is that they were written prior to the fulfillment of the prophesy. That was a huge deal in Judaism and nobody mentions it.
      2. Luke never mentions the death of Paul and Peter in either his Gospel or its sequel, the Book of Acts. We know from external sources that Paul died in the late 60’s (66-67 A.D.) and the Book of Acts ends before his death and Luke was written prior to Acts so there you go. Do the math.
      3. Manuscript Evidence - The Rylands Papyrus is the oldest manuscript in any size of the New Testament and contains John 18:31-33. It dates roughly to the 130’s to 140’s A.D. If this manuscript dates to the 130’s, the original logically would have been prior to the 130’s. Why don’t Roman Catholic apologists, or their sources, go into this? They either don’t know it, which isn’t good, or they don’t want you to know, worst case.
Do we have any hard evidence that the New Testament Gospels are older than the claims of the Roman Catholic church? Yes we do. Very simply, early church writers (fathers) quote the New Testament. They’re doing sermons, they are doing commentaries, they are writing theologies and they’re quoting the New Testament and we know when these guys lived because of Roman records so when they quote something, it fixes a date for that quotation: the thing they are quoting must have existed prior to the quotation.

Peter was not the rock in Matthew 16:18. Jesus is the rock and head of the church. If you knew the Bible you would know all of these things that you are tossing out there as proof for the false Catholic Church. You should be ashamed of yourself to be so easily deceived.
Scripture clearly denies that there was no rock but God and that the church was built on all the apostles and prophets, Christ himslf being the chief cornerstone---the rock.
      Ephesians 2:19-20
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,
The truth is, Peter was never in Rome so he wasn't martyred there and he's not buried there. That's just something pushed as "fact" by the Roman Catholic church.
First of all, if you read Galatians 2:7 it clearly states Peter was commissioned to go to the Hebrews (the circumcized), and Paul was commissioned to go to the Gentiles (the uncircumcised). Based on that alone it doesn't make any sense for Peter to go to Rome, a city of gentiles.
Second, Paul wrote six books while he was IN ROME. Nowhere in any of them does he mention Peter being with him. Even in Romans chapter 16 where he is acknowledging those who have helped him he doesn't mention Peter. Why would he leave out the prince of the apostles if Peter was in fact in Rome? This would be a serious disrespect.
In Acts 15, Mark is with Paul and Barnabas. Paul and Barnabas have a disagreement and split up, so Barnabas takes Mark with him and Paul takes Silas with him.
In Colossians 4:10 (written by Paul in Rome) Mark is with Paul here. So, they are both in Rome at this point.
In 2 Timothy 4:11-13 Paul is in Rome, but Mark isn't with him as he is asking to have Mark brought to him.
In 1 Peter 5:13 Mark is with PETER in "Babylon."
The point is, if Mark is in "Babylon" with Peter, yet we know for sure Paul is in Rome yet he's asking for Mark, it seems pretty clear that they are in completely different cities. Also, Babylon did not become a code for Rome until John used it in Revelation long after Peter was dead. If you want to make the claim that Babylon is Rome, Babylon didn't become a code word for Rome until John used it in Revelation about 35 years after Peter's death.
There isn't even good evidence that Peter is buried in Rome. Read about the archaeological excavations that turned up nothing. All the Roman Catholic church has are desperate attempts to make some link between Rome and Peter, but there aren't any.
Some people (Roman Catholics) also try to use Eusebius as proof of Peter in Rome, but this is also flawed and would take some time to get into. But, if you're looking to get closer to the truth you can read about the additions and translations and how they're problematic.
There is no serious proof that he was the bishop or local ecclesiastical officer of the Roman church, a claim not made until the 3rd century. No proof that he was the original missionary to bring Christianity to Rome, and therefore not the founder of the church of Rome.
In Acts 14, we read that the apostles are traveling and establishing chuches and appointing elders, plural not singular, in every church, not THE CHURCH.
      Acts 14:21-28
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” 23 SO WHEN THEY HAD APPOINTED ELDERS IN EVERY CHURCH, , and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
The church we read about in the Bible was organized in a very simple way. A general pattern was to have 2 or more qualified men overseeing each local congregation or church. These men could be referred to as the "eldership". Each man must meet several high qualifications which the Bible lists in two passages. Elders are the spiritual leaders of a congregation. They also watch out for the souls of the members like a shepherd.
      1. Christ is the head of every local church. There is no human head of the church.
      2. The Bible is the only written creed for each local church, rather than a man-made written creed.
      3. Each local church is autonomous and self-governing. No outside interference from others.
      4. No organizational tie between local churches.
      5. No organization larger than local churches.
      6. The Bible uses Elder, Presbyter, Overseer, Bishop, Shepherd, Pastor interchangeably and they all refer to a single office in the church.
      7. Local churches appoint their own plurality of elders using 1 Timothy 3, and Titus 1 as guidelines for the qualifications.
      8. Elders have authority only over the members of the local church, not members from outside congregations.
You don't know any of this because you don't read the Bible. You've placed your salvation in the hands of men instead of God and when we look at the Catholic Church, we don't find it in Scripture.

Up until that point, I thought everyone in Christiandom believed in Christ's true Presence in The Eucharist. I was quite taken aback. I have never gotten over that one actually.

When I started getting stronger in my Catholic Faith, I started having doubts. Then one day I saw a Catholic priest talking about the absurdity of this. He called up 2 Catholics and said, "He believes in the Holy Trinity, he denies it---He believes Jesus founded a Church, he doesn't-----He honors and venerates Our Blessed Mother, he insults and mocks her-----He believes Jesus is God, he doesn't, .......". Then the priest goes, "but a lot of you think it's the same and doesn't matter". I took that as a sign from God. How can it be the same when it isn't the same? I realize how wrong it was to go to any church and think it didn't matter.

@@michaelg377 God exists outside of Time and Space, so yes, His disciples were eating His actual Flesh and drinking His actual blood.
The bread/wine that Christ was holding on Holy Thursday (night of The Last Supper) was His actual self on The Cross the very next day of Good Friday. Think of it as a time-meld of both days into one; again, understanding that God can do this because Time and Space doesn't exist from His Perspective!
This is what The Mass is...there is only One Mass. God allows Catholics who attend Mass to join Jesus on that Thursday AND Friday every single time they attend Mass. Don't let any of this confuse you.
Also, keep in mind that Jesus is The Great High Priest on Holy Thursday, as well as The Sacrificial Lamb on Good Friday. With this time-meld, it becomes One Singular Event with The Great High Priest holding Himself on the cross (which was once bread....so imagine it as a super-tiny version of Jesus on The Cross if that helps you), and presenting Himself as The Perfect Sacrifice to The Eternal Father.
      .
Check out the latest video on my channel as well as the description of the playlist titled "The Feast of The Mass and The New Evangelicals".
In regards to the prohibition of the drinking of blood:- the same God who made that prohibition also said that if I do not drink His Blood, I will have no part with Him. Something I have always picked up about Catholicism is that we DO NOT EVER argue with God. Yes, we can seek for clarity, etc. but we do not backtalk Him! So keep that in mind. He gave The Old Law of which blood-drinking was forbidden and now He gives The New Law which demands drinking His blood. My duty as His creature is to submit and obey, even if I do not understand.
Jesus Christ wasn't talking about His own flesh when He said "...the flesh is good for nothing..." And this is why I believe that the Protestant mind is utterly invaded, pervaded and blocked by the demonic...sorry if that offends you but it is true and it just shocks me sometimes. He just finished arguing with the crowd, insisting that they must eat His own flesh or else they would not have Eternal Life..... OBVIOUSLY He means something else by "....the flesh is good for nothing..." because He just spent a few minutes doubling, tripling and quadrupling-down that His flesh is required (hence good) for Eternal Life!!!!!! @@rickdavis2235your reinvention of the history of the bible is mendacious.
In 33 AD the only Scriptures were the Septuagint which Jesus and His Apostles used and quoted from (46 books). There were no written books of the NT yet. There Gospel was taught by proclamation ONLY just as Jesus commanded, and nothing was written until St. Paul first wrote to correct heresies and then while imprisoned to also encourage Christians. That began around 55 AD and the letters continued from the authors of the NT until 96 AD (The Apocalypse by St. John, whom lived to 100 AD). Not only that, but there were other letters written and read to the various churches in the dioceses by the martyred Popes, like St. Clement 1 (he is mentioned by name in the NT) which were considered for a time to be part of the NT.
It is The Church (Catholic) whom decided in the official canon of the bible, the Koine Greek Septuagint as the only official OT (46 books) and the 27 books of the NT for a total of 73 books in the Holy Bible. The Protestants changed the bible, discarding the Septuagint and adopting the altered 66 book Masorectic text (rendered by Jewish Scribes in the 6th century AD and completed in the 10th century AD). They obviously were not Christians and didn't believe in Jesus. So for Protestants to discard the Holy OT Septuagint that Jesus used and prefer the altered Masorectic text is not from God. Who is the father of lies and divisiveness? Well you know whom.
As for the NT, well once again the Protestants discarded the authorized official NT, and replaced it with the corrupted Textus Receptus which is rife with thousands of errors and mistranslations. The KJV bible used these altered and butchered versions of the OT and originally in 1611 and 1619 had 80 books (with Satanic images and sketches made by Freemasons) and later reduced the number of books in 1666 to 66. (All those 6's!)
All other subsequent non-Catholic bibles used the Freemmasons KJV for their own versions of their bibles.
To this day the Freemasons use the 1611 KJV bible in their meetings.
Only the Catholic Church has the authorized true Word of God, the complete canon of sacred Scripture. She gifted the world through the guidance of the Holy Spirit with the Bible (73 books) and has the fullness of truth of Jesus's teachings.
      1 Timothy 3:15
The Church is the pillar and bulwark of truth
Singular: _The_ Church. One Church not a plurality of "churches" with over 40,000 different separated denominations that don't even agree on their own different doctrines.

I finished RCIA and my first Holy Communion was on Easter Vigil, 2024. I now truly know the Lord. Leaving the Catholic Church would be leaving Jesus. I am happy and proud to be Catholic. It is as you said in the video, "Catholicism is the absolute truth".

Growing up in a predominantly Muslim country, it always baffles me that there are more than two protestant churches standing close to each other in the same area. There are even four different churches I found in the same place in other areas. Even my Muslim friends have a hard time differentiating each and every Protestant church. You can imagine the sound of worship coming from each church every Sunday here.
If you worship the same God, why do you have a different place of worship?

    • @terirudnick3197

Ha ha. No different than Muslims accept Prots don't kill each other. Shia v Suni. And how many more? America allows you to be stupid and wrong as long as you don't hurt PPL. So false churches can stand side by side. You burn them down, steal them, and refuse their upkeep. Real tolerant. You are the same as the Prots listening only to your teachers and questioning nothing. God gave Moses the 10 commandments. I have never met a Muslim who knew them. You say you are Abrahamic. I say poo you are. "Though shalt not MURDER." Your false god tells you to murder. God doesn't change. If you were Abrahamic, you would refuse this order knowing the faith. Even God in Genesis didn't let PPL kill Cain for killing his brother. God is the judge, and he gives PPL all the time of their life to repent and correct themselves. For the Christians you kill they will gain heaven, but for those who go to hell they will be your just tormenters.

Thank you for this. I'm a former convert and now "re-convert" to the official Catholic Church, as of a little over three weeks ago. This time, I want to stay forever. Please pray for me and other converts that we will stand our ground and remain in the Fold.
I also had to grow up in a heavily-Protestant area, though at least where I live now is actually just outside the seat of a diocese, and the place I first converted was near the seats of both a diocese and another archdiocese across the river. So that helps somewhat against backlash and ridicule. You make great points about authority, the rampant division and confusion within Protestantism, how the Bible was never decided and finalized on until well into the 4th Century, about history, and how people come up with various and even widely-different interpretations and understandings.

@@imisschristendom5293 thank you. Fortunately where I grew up is still the same place where I live that has the diocesan seat, and that counters the heavily-Protestant population. I also have a tad of Roman Catholicism in my background, as I had greatx5 through x9 or whatever grandparents of English and Welsh ancestry who immigrated to Maryland, and they or their descendants eventually further west. It's been a long time coming (nearly 9 and a half years, and my more seriously considering it within the past two to four years), but I believed and realized it was time to come home, with not only my gut instinct and internal feelings, but even signs that I was given.
