It might. Those things were originally intended to attach water bottles on the saddle. I think they will work okay without the support rod as long as you don't put heavy stuff on the bag. BTW consider subscribing.
if you are intending to carry someone or something really heavy on the rack yes you need it to be secure by using stronger materials, but if you will just carry a saddlebag that only weighs around 11pounds or less. I don't think that's necessary, but of course that's just me. You can build yours however you want to. this is just one of the cheaper options, and since it's cheap there's a compromise of course. thanks for commenting, though.

also watching Garys Project vids. got a front rack on my bike now. but not sure if I will make a video of it cause itS a cheap rack that's not meant for my fork, but somehow made it work. still thinking if itS worth posting, though.
