Thanks for the review. I love the Black Hole bags. I have several. Backpack straps are included with purchase of the 55L duffel. You should follow up with REI on that.

patagonia black hole bags are the best duffle bags. I have 2 - 100L, 2 - 70L, 2 - 55L, 2 - 40L. My wife and I love them.

Great review! Packing down into its own pocket would be useful for longer trips where you might return with more than you left with.

The side pocket is giant security risk given that it gives you complete access to the inside of the bag. Idk why the heck the geniuses didn't make the side pocket double zippered so you can lock it.

Well, in my case the thief would have clean access to my dirty underwear. The best security is not letting the bag out of your sight in the first place.
